During a panel at BlizzCon 2007, Chris Metzen and Alex Afrasiabi talked about a questline in Northrend focusing on Tirion Fordring. They mentioned plans to include the Ashbringer in the questline, though at such an early stage of production the Ashbringer's inclusion may not be final.

During the hands-on demo of Wrath of the Lich King at BlizzCon, doing a small quest chain about a sacred artifact leads you to a "Cleric of the Silver Hand". The cleric reveals himself to be Tirion, now known as Highlord Tirion Fordring of the Order of the Silver Hand - attired in Lightbringer Armor, and holding the Ashbringer. He shouts a challenge to Arthas, saying that the Silver Hand was coming for him and that his kingdom would crumble beneath the weight of justice.

The above quote was taken from the wowwiki page on Tirion Fordring any of the information here may or may not end up in the expansion but it seems logical that with Arthas being the main focus in the next expansion that the Ashbringer will also play a big part.

Tirion Fordring can also be found in Old Hillsbrad Foothills in the Caverns of Time he can be seen disscussing the Ashbringer with fellow members of the Silver Hand.

Is there something speicial about this guy and do you have to do something for him to appear/ or does he only appear at certain times? I picked up the quests off the guy and now he never appears and icant claim the quests

If you look for Tirion Fordring, that gives quests in Eastern Plaguelands, then this is wrong one (thou screenshot is right).

Tirion Fordring is located at 7,43 in EPL. On a side note, if you pull a mob to him he says "Say hello to my little friend."

Worth noting that Tirion Fordring is the main character in the World of Warcraft novel "Of Blood and Honor" by Chris Metzen, which also stars the orc warrior Eitrigg. this sounds like the npc from WOTLK beta as the order of the silver hand. silver hand is the faction that death knights call home like druids cenarion circle.

The Silver Hand were an order of Paladins, formed (if memory serves) by Uther the Lightbringer, Arthas' teacher. As loladins, they would most definitely not be friendly with any Death Knights, regardless of any rep. grind you might attempt.

Maybe one of the last founders of Knights of the Silver Hand still alive in Azeroth. In Wotlk the Knights of the Silver Hand faction will return.

You can find the younger, lesser of rank Tirion Fordring in Caverns of Time: Old Hillsbrad Foothills in a meeting with other members of the Knights of the Silver Hand.

He's now at 4,38 in EPL. Go north along the river but stay on the eastern bank.

I got 3 quests from this guy and now i can't find him again. Before he was just sitting on the road near hearthglen and now... nowhere to be seen.

I ended up finding him and getting the first three quests from him after someone completed the last in the chain (the one that brings him into Hearthglen).

I think its safe to say I had one hell of a time trying to find him again after I had completed the quests.

I got the 3 quests, did them and found him but he won't let me turn them in. The he up and dissapeared. Any idea what I should do here?

place 7,43 cosmos is completely correct... standing in front of his house.... entering eastern plaguelands, go straight north until you reach him^^

Right after you enter EPL take a left and go to the end of the road near the river, you will find him at a house (Cords above)

Here's help for those of you having problems with the quests.
1)If you don't see him where he usaully is, he is up in hearthglen try again later or just wait for a while, or you can even try going up to hearthglen.
2) If you see him but can't turn your quest in (This has happened to me) just wait. He probably just came back from hearthglen and when he does it takes a few minutes before you can turn in/get quests to/from him. Hope this help

BTW The final quest is awsome and the reward is worth it.

Ornate Adamantium Breastplate is so worth it, like the best non-MC/AQ/Naxx and all that chest i do believe and i strongly recommend all warriors do this quest!

This guy do have something to do with the ashbringer. He will most likely have it equiped in The frozen throne, were he challenges Arthas with it. Read more at:

this npc plays a role, minor or major i do not know, in the history of The Ashbringer. heres a conversation you can hear in caverns of time.

Commander Mograine: "Keep your voices down. There are strangers about..."
CM: "Brothers and sisters, I have called you here today to discuss the fate of Lordaeron."
Commonder Mograine lowers his voice to a whisper.
CM: "I hear things... THings that should not be."
CM: "The dead rise... Undead, from the frozen northlands. Whole cities have gone missing. I..."
CM: "I have heard that Northrend is lost..."
Gasps are heard throughout the room.
CM: "We must stand at the read. I have faced undead before. They are ruthless killing machines, devoid of any emotion or compassion."
Tirion Fordring nods.
Tirion Fordring: "Aye, I've battled them as well. We are ill-prepared as a kingdome to withstand such an assault."
Arcanist Doan: "What do you propose, Mograine?"
CM: "Propose? I propose that we prepare. That we prepare our loved ones, family, and friends for the possibility of an undead holocaust."
CM: "And there is this..."
Commander Mograine unlocks the chest.
Abbandis : "By the Light! What is it?"
CM: "I have had this object in my posession for 10 years. Since Blackrock Spire..."
CM: "I wrested it free from the remains of an orc lieutenant - a dark caster... It is from their homeworld."
CM: "Do not get to close. I laid a hand upon it once... Only once and never again. The memories of that day still linger."
Commander Mograine removes the gauntlet from his right arm and shows everyone his mangled hand.
CM: " I surmise that this object is the living embodiment of shadows... darkness... It is a minifestation. It is a void."
Isillien: "I do not see how this evil artifact is relevant to the undead. We must destroy it!"
Commander Mograine shakes his head.
CM: " No, old friend, it is very relevant."
CM: "Let me ask you this, brothers and sisters : Can good exist without evil? Can there be light without dark?"
CM: "And if that answer is no, then could it be possible that because this artifact exists, its polar opposite must also exist?"
CM: "Could you imagine what the material manifestation of the Light could do against the undead?"
Isillien: "Nonsense, Mograine! It must be destroyed!"
Shock then silence overtakes the crowd.
CM: "It consumed the Light!"
TF: Impossible!"
Fairbanks : "Is... Is it getting lighter? Its coloration... It is changing."
CM: "BY THE LIGHT! Could it be? Could this be it?"
CM: "I must know... I will know..."
Commander Mograine reaches out to touch the light crystal.
CM: "I ... It... It is beautiful. What I felt when I touched it... The Light coursed through me and I through it.. It healed my spirit.
Isillien : "Your hand! It is healed!"
Commander Mograine put the crystal back inside the chest.
CM: "Let us never speak of this day. Our enemies are many. They need not know we hold such artifacts."
CM: "I have seen it... From this blessed crystal we will forge a weapon. This weapon will hold inside it a piece of each of us... And when it is used against undead, it shall cast them down. And in it's wake, it will leave only ashes..."

Tirion Fordring is part of this conversation.
Tirions son taelan became the leader of the "corrupted" scarlet crusade in hearthglen. Taelan was killed by Grand Inquisitor Isillien. Isillien was also part of the crusade in hearthglen. and also a part of this story here said in caverns of time. Tirion Fordring is still in the game, an exile of "Order of the silver hand".

Abbendis is also one of them whos still alive. She resides in Tyr's hand, and shes the high general. No info found abot her yet thou.

as most of you know, fairbanks also exist in the game atm, but hes been infected by the plague. fairbanks plays a big role in the event in SM cath when someone wielding Corrupted ashbringer enters. He was with Mograine in his journey to stratholme when he was betrayed by his own son, who now is the mograine found in SM cath.

arcanist doan also exist. not so important as far as i know thou.
