Warcraft Reloaded
- Interview with Brian Birmingham
Brian Birmingham is the Lead Software Engineer for Wrath Classic, interviewed by the Warcraft Reloaded Podcast. In this interview, Brian covers lessons learned from the Pre-Patch, as well as what the team is working on for features that will be added in at a later date.
Brian explains the development for server infrastructure, explaining how hardware and software work alongside one another in response to queue times for realms, as well as what the team is doing to try and alleviate some of the queue issues.
The built-in Quest Tracker and Quest Helper features will be added into Wrath at a later date. Brian explains that this feature wasn't available at the original Wrath's launch, so the team felt it was okay for it to not be implemented at launch on Wrath Classic.

- Interview with Kris Zierhut
Kris Zierhut is the Principal Game Designer for Wrath Classic, interviewed by
MrGM
and
Scottejaye
. In this interview, Kris covers systems in Wrath Classic, touching on some new changes coming in Wrath Classic.
One of the biggest news drops from the day, Kris Zierhut announced that there would be some interesting
loot changes when Ulduar Phase 2 drops in Wrath Classic, as well as new Heroic
Plus
Dungeons
.
Additionally, Blizzard will be implementing
new bonus rewards for completing dungeons for Tanks and Healers
, with the small chance of acquiring pets and mounts from the reward.
Countdown to Classic
- Interview with Josh Greenfield
Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield is a Producer for Wrath Classic, interviewed by the Countdown to Classic Podcast. In this interview, Josh explains Blizzard's perspective on the idea of Heroic
Plus
Dungeons and shares that it will be available for testing in the future, where Blizzard will be looking for feedback.
Josh explains why additional Fresh Start Realms needed to be launched, because of the extreme queue times. Additionally, Blizzard received a lot of feedback from players who just wanted to level during the fresh experience and didn't really care about realm population, which is one of the driving factors for Blizzard opening up additional Fresh Start Realms.
When asked about queue times disappearing over night on Wrath Classic during the Pre-Patch, Josh explains that Blizzard is implementing new technology to ban bots, which means on locked realms those bots can't make new characters and would have a drastic impact on realm queue times.
