This is attainable by a level 19 character, thus making it the highest DPS weapon in the game (as of Feb 2007) for a twink. Also, the slow weapon speed means the % of hits that cause a proc are substantively higher than a faster weapon. A lot of work for a .5 dps bump over rare blues that are BoE, but for the ulti-twink a must have.

This is actually not the highest dps 2h 19 twink weapon. Smite's Hammer still remains to be the highest in dps with 21.27 dps after you add the +11 str ((11*2)14). Now, if you consider the extra dps from the proc, the Glacial Stone 'might' be higher depending on how often it procs as compared to the amount of extra damage you would've done with the Smite's Hammer. I would still rather have the Smite's Hammer due to its stats.

For those of you trying to get this for your 19 twink ... This chain gives you so much experience, about a full level, that you just might ding 20 on that last 3150 exp you get on the last step. Be careful. Don't be rested during this quest ... that's for sure! Bring a 70. Kill as few mobs as possible. Drop from the group along the way from time to time ... unless you HAVE to be in it.

For a Warrior or Retadin twink, it's a good idea to pick this up and enchant it with Crusader as well as getting Smite's mace with +25 agi. Then you've got a high-burst proc weapon and a constant dps stat-oriented weapon.

smites realy is better... sure this has a measly 1 dps more, but smights has higher top end. top end damage increases your rends and overpowers (and with the new patch rend destroys people...) IMO. If you realy want to realy purely on burst damage then sure, go with glacial stone and fiery/lifestealing for some random high damage hits. because the chance of fiery weapon and lifestealing proccing is 7.86*weapon speed u will have around 30% proc rate with those for a VERY steady dps increase. crusader would also be nice because of thsi weapons incredibaly slow speed at this lv. happy twinking >:D

Actually as of now, Bloodied Arcanite Reaper is probably the best 2h weap for lvl 19 twink (http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/9831/wowscrnshot112808234336sj0.jpg) just get all the emblems on your main or for an alternate route (if u can't acquire all the badges)(http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/4237/wowscrnshot112808233753nu3.jpg) is easier to get the wintergrasp marks, so yea... think about that

As of 3.1, you can turn off exp at any level, beneficial for a twink when getting items like these!

Seeing as you don't have to worry about over-experiencing, or leveling up by the end of the chain anymore, this is alot easier to obtain than it was prior to 3.1. Definately worth it, can hit like a truck with this thing.

If i do a little calculating, where i compare the Smite's Mighty Hammer to the Glacial Stone

According to WoWWiki, the stats of SMH will give 26AP to a warrior,

increasing its DPS by (AP/14) = (26/14) = ~1.86 to a total DPS of ~ 21.56,
which makes it an slightly higher DPS then the the Glacial Stone with an dps of 21.0.

And the top damage of SMH would be ((Weapon DPS + AP/14) * Weapon Speed) = (19.7+26/14)*3.5 = 11.425
To a total top damage of ~94.4, also higher then the Glacial Stone.

If Xarim above is right, then the Glacial stone has slight better DPS (0.7 higher),
but since the extra AP of the SMH increases the damage of some of your special ability's aswell i'd call it a tie.
Just go for the Glacial Stone if you are Alliance, and go for Smite's Mighty hammer if you are Horde.
Correct me if i'm wrong please.

Dartol's Rod of Transformation

The item is unique, usable everywhere and you cannot use it.

You'll outlevel this weapon in 10 levels and you will regret it at lv 80

Do this quest, but stop at the point where you get the rod.

Although I've been playing 10-19 WSG for almost a year, I just recently heard of Glacial Stone. Some thoughtful person in WSG couldn't resist the temptation to point out that his Glacial Stone was better than my Smite's Mighty Hammer, so I decided to take a close look at the two weapons.

Smites Mighty Hammer offers 19.7 dps, +11 Str, +4 Agi, while Glacial Stone offers 21.0 dps and a 75 dmg proc. Using CTProfiles to swap the two weapons back and forth, using Smite's Hammer as a baseline, here's how Glacial Stone stacks up:

With Glacial Stone equipped (not counting the proc yet):
You loose 0.31 dps (due to the loss of +11 Str)
You loose 22 Atk Pwr
You loose 0.63 %Crit
You loose 0.63 Dodge

Factoring in the proc (assuming 5% proc as stated in one of the comments above) increases average dps so:
You gain 0.73 dps (over Smites Mighty Hammer)
But Atk Pwr, %Crit and Dodge are unchanged in the "loss" column

Overall, the two weapons are very close, so if you think +0.73 dps, -22 Atk Pwr, -0.63 Dodge, and -0.63 %Crit is worth doing the entire Raene's Cleansing series, have at it. Since I already have about 95% of my L19 XP, it's really not an option for me.

I've heard a lot of people saying what is the "best" enchant or the "best" whatever, when taking into consideration as to what is best or not you should consider a few things: The class you're refering to i.e. "This is the best one hander ever!" Well are you talking about a rogue, warrior, paladin?

As far as an enchant for a 2 hander, some may not have to look any further than a simple counterweight. Since the BC preps were put in and things were changed from % to ratings, ratings at lower levels equate to rather large percentages. For really slow 2 handers I would actually recommend trying out a counterwieght. For a level 19 warrior, a 3.5 speed 2 hander will swing for 3.04, that's half a second off the swing speed (almost) which anyone who knows how DPS is calculated knows, that's freakin' huge!

i read some really unfactual posts back there demoting seraph's strike

i have both weapons ..witout enchants atm

thus i woulndt now bout how pften each procs but i can say im getting 2-3 more dam per swing with seraphs strike

the ice proc hardly ever procs

personally seraphs strike is better than glacial stone for warriors

seraphs strike is also lvl 31 with more dps ..and is faster ...id rather have a ton of stam and a faster wep as a twink ..you get more hits in

1. Glacial Stone is a bit slower than Smite's, which means bigger crits.

2. The extra damage proc on Glacial Stone increases its overall dps. Even assuming just one proc per minute (I believe it's actually 2 PPM), the 75 damage proc will equal out to be about an extra 1.25 DPS, making it the higher DPS weapon, even after factoring in the stats on Smite's.

60 seconds/3.6 seconds per attack = 16.7 attacks per min.

75 damage (1 proc in 60 seconds)/16.7 attacks = 4.5 extra damage per attack.

4.5 damage per attack/3.6 seconds per attack = 1.25 damage per second.

Which means that Glacial Stone actually does closer to 22.25 dps, assuming one proc per minute. Smite's does about 21.27 dps after stats are factored in. If Glacial Stone does have 2 PPM, that means it does 23.5 dps, which is a whopping 2.23 dps more than Smite's.

As far as Seraph's Strike:

Seraph's Strike is faster, meaning less burst damage due to smaller crits.

It does have higher base dps and with stats factored in it does about 21.5 dps, which is slightly higher than Smite's, but still less than Glacial Stone.

Anyone from Daggerspine will know that this is the best 19 Pally weapon. If have ever seen Snorelax in combat with his glacial stone with lifesteal enchant, you know there is nothing capable of beating it. He gets constant procs with lifesteal and glacial stone. Just from watching him play, beating several 19 and 29 twinks, it makes me want to reroll 19 pally. He has gone missing however. Rumor has it he was seen in Warsong earlier today...

Anyways my point is that if you want to be the best 19 twink pally possible, get the glacial stone and put a proc-able enchant on it. Lifesteal works well, also fiery and crusader.

In memory of Snorelax - the best 19 pally ever.

(we tried to convince him to use 1h and shield... he said "I made this character in memory of Berzerk, and i'm not going to let him down :)" )

Im not sure how every proc works...
But Say you have crusader on this weapon.
Since the weapon speed is 3.6 and crusader's proc rate is 1.5x the weapon speed your chance for crusader to proc would be 5.4% and that might just be proc chance period so the chacne for the weapon to proc would also be 5.4%?

Although there is much confusion regarding the Night Reaver and the Glacial Stone, you must remember the new expertise factor. You get a little extra edge depending on what race you are.

Dwarves: Axes (Night Reaver)

Humans: Swords and Maces (Searing Blade and Glacial Stone)

All in all, the Night Reaver and Glacial Stone are very similar, but with the added expertise factor, I would go Glacial Stone being a human and Night Reaver being a dwarf.

P.S. Sucks to be horde with Runic Darkblade......not too sure, but i doubt if any of their races get expertise for swords.....but maybe I am wrong.

The quest becomes available at lvl 18. The entire quest line from start to finish, takes most of that lvl (of Exp) to complete. Make sure you have all of your instance items before lvl 18 and then do this quest.

Ok iv got a lvl 19 twink warrior (Gnome)(I like Gnomes :D) and i dont know what to get on it....... Firey, Icy, Crusader, or Wep Damage +19... Im leaning twards Crusader, but iv got a Night Reaver and a Shadowfang with Crusader already. Well Screw it ill trust my Intuition and go with another Crusader, I mean i can already hit 450 NORMAL Hits with a Crusader Proc on my Night Reaver so I immagine ill be able to hit in the 500's with Glacial Stone. (Heroic Strike crusader procs critts hit usally: 650+, I've gotten a 829 critt once, but only once and it was on a 19 twink mage)

-So Crusader + Glacial Stone= Awesome Ass Pwnage!

Yuo can get this item at level 19. It's even better than Night Reaver, making it the best pvp 2h weapon for 10-19. My warrior friend has this and she pawns in Warsong gulch with this and +9 wep damage. Just letting everyone know.

Just did this quest on Uldum, requires level 18 to start. And for those having hopes of doing this quest for a 19 twink start it as soon as you get 18. I just took a level 54 with me and had no troubles at all, prolly could do it with a 30+, since the highest mob to kill is 31. Takes about 2 hours total, and the final xp total for the whole thing is 17,325 xp, not including xp from various mobs killed along the way, just what you will get for handing in all the different quest parts. Good luck, its slow but when it crits, it takes out almost all casters in one shot.

This is obtainable by a 19 alliance warrior. I'd personally go with a Shadowfang+Arctic buckler since there is no imp overpower, ww, ms, or any other good instants.

I guess you can proc it with hamstring for a psuedo instant, meh.

If you're attempting to obtain this on a Season of Mastery server, you must start the quest almost immediately upon obtaining level 18. I was carried by a level 54 Mage and I still ended up getting a level and a half from the quest line.
