Maxed out in nax25 gear druids still only sit around 5% hit. The extra hit gets you capped, the extra proc is a great tps bonus on top of the hit. Druid tanks sit around 35%+ crit, the only downtime will be whatever the internal cd sits at. It's not the most ideal trinket for pure survivibility, but for as diverse of a role druids can fill, it's a great feral trinket if you can't afford a nobles card. It's also steller for kitty if you're filling an off tank role and need to switch forms during a fight.
This trinket has plenty of uses for tanks AND dps.

an upgrade to Grim Toll , but with different proc. Makes me wonder which one will be better. The AP one or the Armor Penetration one.

ICD appears to be approximately 50 seconds. I ran a quick dummy test. Most procs occured within 55-58 seconds.

After some work on the dummies, I can confirm that the Mirror of Truth buff and Pyrite Infuser buff can proc at the same time. They stack.

Get this if your guild isn't running heroic Naxx anymore. Even though ArP is king now, 95 hit will release you
from being held hostage to hit in your gear and gem choices.

Got this last night, and seems to hold true to standard internal proc rates as yrch69 said above.

However, I bet it will dip to around 45 seconds internal if the player has more crit.

Got this along with https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=45109 on my Enh Shaman. I have to say I've noticed significant increase in damage from mirror of truth once I gemmed for less hit.

At level 80, Feral druids need ~293 +hit to overcome a -8% chance to hit against a raid boss. The +hit from this trinket and the Grim Toll combine comes to 178 +hit. This is over half of the total +hit a feral druid needs to make up the -8% and be "hit capped." This is a nice combination because it could potentially open up more gear/gem choices in our slots that were previously locked due to the dependency of the +hit on the gear. Also, The two proc's on the trinkets complement each other very well with a boost in AP for higher bleeds/direct damage and, raw damage percentage increases in our direct attacks from the ArP proc.

This is the third best trinket in the game for ret pallies topped only by #1 darkmoon card of greatness and #2 blood of the old god; I'd rather have the hit rating on this then the crit from mirror of truth since most of our gear has crit but is lacking in the hit department.

Switching from Mirror of Truth to this in combination with Grim Toll is a DPS gain for Enhancer Shamans even when the yellow damage hit cap has been overcome. However, the combo with Mirror of Truth instead of Grim Toll is a severe DPS loss, likely because of the AP boost in 3.1.

Pyrite Infuser stacks with Blood of the Old God

with duel berserk gives an additional 3282AP when all 4 proc and was the 1st time i seen 10K AP(25man buffed)

and as a mut rogue i dont think i'll be changing till next content patch(or unknown uber trinket drops form Algalon the Observer)

I did a test on the target dummies and was getting about 8k w/ them two procing together on my hunter
(still think Fury of Five Flights is better than Mirror of Truth do to the small chance of them procing together)

worth about 431.9 ap if my math is right, 45sec cd 10 sec duration should be 45-10 = 35. 1234*0.35 = 431.9 ap (475.09 for feral druids!)
If im wrong thats totally fine i didnt care that much but this trinket should be better than FotFF then. 320 AP (352 for ferals)

though it does come to mind about timing of the proc vs application of bleeds, but i hit about 11k ap when this procs.

I think you'r maths are wrong.

Indeed, if you suppose it procs immediately after the end of the internal cooldown, so that it is up for 10 sec every 45sec, you have a up time of 10/45=0,22.

Therefore, you have a overal AP gain of 1234*0.22=274AP. IF it procs really well...

Let's suppose it procs 10 sec after the end of the cd: you've got 10/55=0.18 and a gain of 224AP.

So if you compare with Fury, it is much less efficient...

Has anyone considered using this trinket as a feral tank? Thats quite a bit of hit which would leave room for better mitigation armor pieces. My main reason for considering it was that I was wondering since Savage Defense procs on crits and absorbs damage equal to 25% of your AP, would the 1234 AP be included in the initial proc? That would be around 309 extra hp absorption for any savage defense procs in those 10 seconds (hopefully including the initial crit that procced the trinket and the savage defense). Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have been using it as a feral Tank for a while now. Combine it with the mirror of truth, adds over 2000 to AP. Which does count in for the buff which absorbs 25% of the next melee hit.

With the new patch Mark of Supremacy is probably easier (heroics emblem gear now) to get than Pyrite Infuser, and you can control the proc. Then again, if you need those emblems for other stuff, the first boss on Ulduar 10 man is a piece of cake.

In my opinion, the proc on this is actually better than the CD of the Mark of Supremacy. I already have plenty of hit rating, so that doesn't matter to me. Even in a burst DPS fight, the proc on the Pyrite Infuser has higher attack power than the other and it has a much shorter ICD.

In a 10 minute fight the Mark of Supremacy would add 1024 attack power 4 times and the Pyrite Infuser could proc for 1234 attack power over 10 times.

The only reason I bring this to light is because I am running out of things to buy with my emblems of triumph and I was thinking about buying this, but I was sad to find out that it would be a waste of emblems to increase my Ilvl by 26 (I don't know how gs addon calculates the gs, so I can only say Ilvl). I think that this trinket should have a higher Ilvl or the Mark should be lowered.

Drop of Flame Leviathan on 25 man Ulduar; much like grim toll but w/ AP rather then ArP. Nice chunk of hit frees up alot of hit from the other slots.
