The waters of Dalaran's Underbelly contain a fish called Magic Eater. Eating the Magic Eater gives a random buff: Either "Wild Magic" or "Well Feed":

Wild Magic turns you into a basilisk, locust, whelp, or whisp, and prevents you casting or attacking for 1 minute.
Well Feed gives +30 Stamina for 1 hour, plus randomly one of: +60 Attack Power, +30 Critical Rating, +30 Haste Rating, +12 MP5, or +35 Spell Power.

This food appears to trigger random food, or a random effect.
What I've seen so far:
- Raidbuff food level70 quality (+12 mp5 / +30 sta, for example)
- Transformation: roach
- Transformation: Green dragon whelp
- Transformation: Red whisp

The transformations have the name "Wild Magic"

As a shadow priest you can switch the wild magic you got by getting in/out of s-form. This made me being a whelp, then a basilisk, then a roach, then a whelp again... :-)

Here's a neat trick for some (LULZ):
Eat one of these badboys before entering an arena; When you join, you will still have the debuff for a short period of time.
I haven't really tested it out too much, but it's a fun surprise for your teammates when they go to buff you and they target a crocolisk!
Also, if you have the Titanium Seal of Dalaran, you can flip it while having the debuff and a mini version of your weapon will show up!

I've noticed some things that happen when you eat in the debuff forms.

If you eat as a wisp, you get a chunk of food floating around your body.

When you eat as a roach, the food is at the end of one of your antennas.

As a whelp, the food is on one of your wings and you stop(you pause and your wings stop flapping, even in midair) as you eat.

Eating as a basilisk, the food is at the end of your claw.(it's small, so it may be hard to see without zooming in)

while in welp form i had a 100% speed increase twice. No speed increase in wisp form,&*!@roach form,or in basilisk form. The third time in welp form no speed increase so must be a random thing.

These would be quite useful in Warsong Gluch.
You eat one of these before you take your enemy's flag, hopefuly you will turn into a critter, then you have 200% running speed and fly by unnoticed because of your smaller-than-a-gnome figure.

Sometimes the things you transform into will travel at 100% speed, and the other times only normal walking speed. Its hilarious to watch the basilisk's tiny legs keep up with the speed you're going.

This isn't very useful in the most heated matches, as the effect pacifies you in addition to the polymorph, but it can be fun if the other team is a little lax.

*If you get a speedy speedy poly, you can add additional security by hitting yourself with Baby Spice as you run the field in Warsong. You're still silenced but it appears possible to use items to help you out, such as your trinket, rocket boots and possibly free action potions, so if someone does happen to notice you, you're not completely helpless.

*The speed increase can happen in any form. I've had mounted speed in roach, basilisk and wisp forms so far, and also slow speeds in those forms.

1) occur more often when you are in a raid then not.
2) Perssist through death. im pretty sure i knoticed that

Just found, this Stacks with Gnomish World Enlarger, and it can be used while magic Eater buff is active... want a TINY #$%^roach? there you go!

Just used this for the first time & I received both buffs - wild magic & well fed - well fed lasting for 17 minutes buffing stamina & the wild magic turned my toon into a roach (ugh...ah, well...maybe a whelp next time) for 45 seconds.
I caught it in underbelly near the area shills. I was happy for the well fed buff so turning into a bug wasn't too bad a deal, especially in the Dirty Animal; seemed sort of appropriate. ;0)

I ate this and got turned into a red wisp, then I used my Six Demon Bag
on a rat next to the Stormwind AH I got the Chain Lightning, It came down from the sky! I was laughing my ass off when some peeps all yelled: "wtf did you see that!" xD and since the lightning didn't come from me but some yards up from the air they didn't even know it was me hehe

Curiously, paladins can use Divine Sacrifice while under the effects of Wild Magic. Why anyone would want do it I do not know, but at least my wisp was illuminated by some fancy lights for a second!

i just did a test w/ 24 https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=43572 - magic eaters
i recieved 10 well feds buffs and 14 wild magic debuffs
looks like a 41.7% chance of well fed and 58.4% chance of wild magic

So far, besides the Well Fed buffs, I've shape shifted into 4 things; a roach, a green dragon whelp, a small red crocalisk, and a red-ball thing(similar to the Spirit of Summer mini pet).

If you use the /sleep macro (in whelp) the flying animation will freeze for some reason.

If you are in a raiding guild that uses XRS or other mods to check for food buffs but are often too lazy to get real food, these are great to keep around as they are easy to acquire in large amounts and give you a food buff of some kind about half the time you use them.

For hunters with a cat pet or other combat pet that will eat fish, these make for a cheap way to feed any level pet, especially if you are fishing up tons of them while trying to get your Giant Sewer Rat minipet.

well a flying cockroach..not sure they fly in RL? and a green small dragon both flying and only lasted one minute but was fun while it lasted
