An excellent hold over until you are able to pick this up is Burning Skull Pendant for Warriors. Close in most ways and it has a solid amount of block value.

I often see this necklace compared to Titanium Earthguard Chain, so I figured I'd list a comparison here for tanks trying to decide between the two. Assuming you put a Twilight Opal in the TEC for the socket bonus...

Titanium Earthguard Chain:
350 Armor
6 Stamina
8 Strength
1 Defense
X (the second stat on the Twilight Opal)

vs

Chained Military Gorget:
32 Dodge Rating
21 Hit Rating

This comparison should make it easier to choose between them. As a Warrior tank I would choose the TEC with either 8 Expertise Rating or 8 Hit Rating over the Gorget.

Some BOE options are https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=42646 and https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=37646. It's been much easier in Wotlk to gear up without running heroics.

Hrm, very intereresting item here. For anyone interested: a 'gorget' is a plate of metal - a collar of sorts - placed at the front of the throat under armor to protect the throat from swords and other piercing weaponry.

Truly an appropriate name for a tanking item such as this.

what about a druid. i don't see why it isn't a druid tank item as well. if im wrong please correct me(wasting 25 badges wouldn't be cool). also it would be helpful to link a better choice (pre-raids) if there is 1 XD

This wouldn't be an ideal item for a druid tank since the'yre already uncrittable from talents, so they don't need any +defense rating. One might argue defense gives more avoidance, but you get more bang for your buck out of dodge rating.

The key stat here is hit rating. Reducing misses helps a warrior build aggro and add rage. Once you get defense and stamina "OK or better", you really start to notice hit rating and expertise.

As of 3.2 it makes no sense to buy this, use your old heroism for epic gems, and instead of 25 bosses to get this item, with 19 you can now get the conquest neck
