It's a shield, this is what shields look like. Or we could go back to shiny fragile looking dinner plates - your choice. The Bulwark of Azzinoth is the best shield design in game imho even though it's simple and oversized, that's what makes it awesome. This might come a close second.

i'm not exactly sure which is the best, patchwerk's has more stamina, avoidance, and block is worse than parry/dodge/defense, but wall of terror has more armor and block value.

Got this shield today, Im prot pala , this is by far best shield i can get i just upgraded from skull of ruin, shield block is pala tanks best stat imo least thats what all my gear has

Thanks to this shield, my warrior now has 7 faces. The original, two on the shoulders, one on the chest, two little ones on the boots and this shield. Warrior T7 is like a face overload.

Also, don't discount a PvProt build with the right block gear. With all the best items, you can crit with a Shield of Righteousness on the order of 11,000. Combine this with Avenger Shield Glyph, Eye for An Eye, Lavanthor's Talisman, and Libram of Obstruction for some ridiculous burst damage capabilities.

My most satisfying PvP moment was when I dueling a Boomkin, killed him in one pass hits (8k SoR crit, 6k Avenger Shield crit, 1.5k HoW, and my Seal/Judgement of Command on his Stunned and utterly shocked face) and got to listen to him complain about how stupid it was that a prot pally could hit harder than he could. Ah, good times, especially looking back to Pre-BC when I had trouble killing rats at a reasonable rate.

I can't say I'm thrilled with this shield compared to the other 2 high end shields, it's not a case of it being bad exactly, but the stats are poorly distributed. It's got the worst stamina for a level 80 epic, lower even than a level 77 crafted blue. Currently, I don't think this shield has a place for the raiding tank. The Barricade of Eternity is the choice for threat, and Hero's Surrender is the choice for avoidance, yet both of these shields are preferable in terms of effective health because of the Wall's poor stamina. That leaves the Wall of Terror as the undesirable sibling.

I've already posted on the official forums, suggesting that this shield be buffed in stamina somewhat, bringing it up to 94 stamina. That would be in line with other ilevel 226 items compared to other tanking gear, such as in the neck slot both the Nexus War Champion Beads and Boundless Ambition have 94 stam over the ilevel 221 neck Heritage which has 84 stamina. I think if the stamina on the Wall of Terror was buffed up to 94, this shield would find its niche, being the desirable item for a tank looking for effective health, and still leaving Hero's Surrender for avoidance and Barricade of Eternity for threat.

As it is, I can't see people really choosing this over the other shields available.

Um, i've had a minor chat with the guild about this contra the EoE10-shield.
They got somewhat equal defence rating.

EoE gives:
More stamina
Parry
Expertise.

This gives:
More strength
Dodge
Block.

Am i insane if i prefer this over the EoE-one, because of the block and dodge? Imma pally btw, so i thought this would be much better anyway for threat-building with block and for avoidance.

Wall of Terror is one of the block items that are under budgeted on stamina and will be fixed "soon".

Note that this shield is getting buffed from 63 to 94 stamina. It has been stated that this shield and other items in Naxx25 with block rating/block value are getting their stamina values fixed as well.
