Drops off of Coren Direbrew in BRD. After completing Insult Coren Direbrew, he becomes hostile and attacks.

Ed.- Out of many runs (60+) I've seen this drop twice. And on the last day for Brewfest, I finally looted it! =D

It's not too bad of a drop rate but its lower then the other drops

It can drop for alliance

It can drop for horde

Amazing mount, absolutely amazing

It should be noted that there is no 60% speed / blue quality version of this mount in live at this time. Direbrew only drops the Epic version of both the Kodo and the Ram. If you purchased a handstamp last year, however, you can return to the vendor and purchase the 60% version of the ram mount there. Just a suggestion, for all of those people looking to get that mount achievement!

How do you run it as many times as people claim to? On the servers I'm on, if I cannot summon again until the next day, no group will take me. Any suggestions for those of us who want to run it multiple times, but run into the issue of players only wanting to do 5 summon runs?

woot.. after nearly 140 or so brd brewboss downs i got the kodo :) and to top the deal the ram dropped at the same time as the kodo dropped. screenshot is uploaded too :)

Just got it.
Completely random drop i have given up after a week of grinding.We went to boost 2 lvl69 for the trinkets.And it dropped and i wont it :)

now, on a lighter note, i just wanna say, that i personly think that the mount rocks, but i agree with one thing, u should not be able to just buy it, u should have to get it from the drop like most of the other people who have it. and the reason im looking forward to brewfest this year is because i want this mount, ive farmed it for 7 days, and killed him 94 times, literally, not kidding here, and i never once saw the ram drop, this proves that the drop rate for it, should really be increased a few % points, one person in my guild said he tried to get it too, and eventually, he just gave up and did the quest so he could just buy one, which is really not a bad idea

but in my opinion, its more satisfying to ride when u actually got it from the drop

and i think its hilarious when i see an orc for example on one, its a huge slap in the face to the allys, like haha, i got ur mount, /rude, /lol

but then again, the allys can do the same to the horde if they get the kodo

but doing that, it kind of childish, so if u want to show off to an ally, or if u r an ally, and u want to show off to the horde, the best way to do it is to get one of the battleground mounts, or even possibly, the black war bear, which i might be getting soon! kill the allys! for the ebon balde! for the horde! and for the colony! =D

This and the ram dropped today. We kept a tank and a healer and a warlock there, we did this on all of our 75+ alt, in total we killed him 12 times, ram dropped once and kodo two times in 12 kills. and we got to gear out our 75+ alts in 80 epics.

I've killed him a total of 12 times.(We tried the lowbie summon thing 2 times.)

First group, the remote dropped on the second kill.

Second group, the remote dropped on the second kill, and then the 3rd kill.

Then I got some friends, and tried the lowbie summoning thing, first kill - The kodo drops. We were all excited, and we did it again, kodo drops once again, right after the last. I dunno if we just got lucky, but it didn't seem all that rare. :\

I've got this mount last year on my druid. I strongly believe that this year, there is a faction easy factor for the mounts. I'm seeing too much drops of Rams for alliance, and too much drops of Kodos to horde.

I've got the Ram, and i a guildie got the Ram too. But no Kodo yet ....

I have heard that when everyone in the group is completely smashed while killing Coren Direbrew, the chance of the mount is upped by 30%. Never tried this, but according to a guildie it works, as he tested it extensivly.

Karma does exist. i promised a friend i would let him have just let me roll for achieve, kodo drops on 2nd summon, i win roll and then give to my friend. Next day kodo drops, I lost roll but person who won it decided he didnt want it (it was his Alt anyways) and trades it to me.

Our method of farming for this is to bring at least 1 warlock above level 75 for daily summon and actually summoning other party member's alt.

You need at least 1 Tank and the rest just dps their hearts out. Direbrew doesn't hit hard, and if you bring enough dps, he won't barrel your tank.

Just got this sweet mount on my Paladin, I now have the kodo mount on my paly and druid, my druid also got the Brewfest ram. I've ran the daily in a group 5 times a day on 3 of my 80s and I've only seen the Kodo mount drop like 3 times in all, I won 2 of them and already had it when it dropped once on my druid, the ram did seem to drop a few time more than the kodo has, I've lost a few rolls on it until winning one on my druid. As for the fight, direbrew is cake, all you need is a tank and some dps, I was in a group of 4 with just a tank and dps(we were switching out alts) and it was still easy.

In my experience the droprate on these mounts can be very low indeed, I've done this event every day (except 2) since it became available at the 2007 brewfest, and I never saw the Kodo or the Ram drop once.

First run I ever did, first day of Brewfest, both mounts dropped. Lost both rolls. =/

After about 3 more times, the Ram dropped, next day the Kodo.

5 day went by of no mount drops. Finally, both mounts dropped. Won the kodo by 1. My roll, 67. His roll, 66.

I passed the ram so someone else could get, and boy were they happy. =D

It dopped after my first ever killing coren direbrew and i won need on it (:(: I'm not even a dedicated player...my brother was rolling on the floor and laughing(i was in a group with some of the most dedicated players on our server:) someone in a group offered me 1000gold for it when i won it but i already learned it

Just had this drop for my Death knight now, won the roll... luckily. doing this around 5 times a day since brewfest started, i've seen 2 of each mount drop, and now have 1 of each.
the Ram dropped on it's own, then the Ram + kodo dropped from another kill, then the Kodo dropped again today, and i managed to win it.
This is the only kodo an alliance can get (afaik).

Okay, here's how it goes:

Starts by accepting the Save Brewfest! quest from Darna Honeybock in Kharanos (sorry, I know about the Alliance side only), which will ask you to talk to an undercover spy inside BRD.
Once inside BRD you click on a pile of booklike objects right by entrance to be teleported to Coren's room where you'll find the spy in question, Coren Direbrew and a few other dwarves (neutral). You finish the quest by addressing the spy, only one person does that per group.
This will trigger another quest that will require you to address Coren, then of course he attacks you.
(of course you can just skip all that and go directly to BRD to take the daily if you're not into following lore).

He's level 75-80 boss, pretty easy tank and spank fight, a few elite adds will pop but that's about it.

His loot table:
1st time you fight him, he will drop Direbrew's Dire Brew which you can turn into Ipfelkofer Ironkeg for 40 Brewfest Prize Tokens, then..

A) Guaranteed to drop one of these epic trinkets:
-Ancient Pickled Egg.
-Brawler's Souvenir.
-Mithril Pocketwatch.
-Coren's Chromium Coaster.
-Bitter Balebrew Charm.
-Bubbling Brightbrew Charm.

B) Lucky Groups have a slight chance to finding:
-Direbrew's Shanker 2.0.
-Direbrew's Remote.
-Tankard O' Terror.

C) Very Lucky groups have a slighter chance to finding:
-Swift Brewfest Ram.
-Great Brewfest Kodo.

Once you trigger the quest to kill Coren, that counts as a daily. But you can still go as many times as you want after that with other people as long as there's someone in group that hasn't done the daily yet. So it's a good thing to check the quest log to see if everybody in your group has taken (is able to take) the daily quest prior to starting in order to fight him 5 times, 5 chances to getting the mount/epic weapon/remote. One of my favourite land mounts, since my main toon is a draenai and alot land mounts look a bit clumsy when a draenai rides them, but this actually suits there shape since well... it was designed for a tauren (similar shape just bigger) lol
I'm not sure if you can get this anymore ( i missed brewfest this year), if not im sure theyll bring out another uber mount next year for anyone who missed this one *fingers crossed*

Ok so am I understanding this right?
You gotta get the quest to go to BRD and beat a level 73 elite boss to get the mount?
If so that's lame, last year we used tickets and I could get mounts for my lower chars to use later.
This way it's only for 70's and maybe some tag along 60+ guys.

Got this mount last night for my first run ever with this boss. Very nice indeed. I got really lucky, the empty mug/ap trinket dropped and I got it as well. Woot! You can get the quest from the spy just outside the room Coren is in once you take the drill ride to the Grim Guzzler. Seeing how very low of a drop rate this has, I know it was pure luck.

I got one of these on my paladin the other night. o.O Didn't know they could drop for alliance. Figured blizzard changed it this year so only alliance got the ram and horde got the kodo but meh.. whatever. Female dwarf paladin on kodo=Win.

and PS Czerny, level 65s can get the daily and just hold onto the trinkets till 70.

YES, the alliance can get this mount! I confirmed it in a run tonight, where it dropped, and I lost the roll to some pug.

It is a random drop off of Coren Direbrew, the seasonal boss in BRD, available during the brewfest event.

It dropped *in addition* to an epic trinket.

so, I repeat, the alliance CAN get this mount (wowwiki originally said horde only, and I was also told it was horde only on the public test realm.)

GL farming!

EDIT:

additional info... I have gone in with a couple groups to kill the boss... when you turn in the quest "Save Brewfest!" at the bar in BRD, you are given a new quest to insult the boss... to do this you talk to him... by talking to him you will not only complete your quest.. but start the boss fight... several groups ran into issues by starting the fight without waiting for the group because they didnt know any better.

this means, that by completing the quest without killing him, you lose an attempt at loot until the next day when the daily quest resets... this is because *you cannot fight the boss without the quest to insult him*

keep this in mind, wait until your group is with you, buff up, then start the fight...

he respawns about 2 minutes after you kill him, so most groups can do 5 attempts in a row easily... unless of course someone wastes their attempt by starting the fight when they're not ready...

speculation on drop rate is 15% cannot confirm or deny... but a lot of people riding kodos in ironforge at 4am

I had both mounts drop off of one kill earlier today. No this is not a private server or any photoshop bull, it dropped. Mebebad (70 Paladin) and Ravaine (70 Warrior) won the rolls. I won neither :(

I did 40 runs on the first day, and I'm starting my runs on the second day. Seen everything drop, including Direbrew's Remote ( which I was lucky enough to let someone give me loot on it ).

However I haven't even SEEN either mounts drop.

My guild member got the kodo on his alt in his first run with his other guild. Lucky Sob.

Well, I'll post back when I know more on things behind it.

Got in on my first run. O.o No reason why anyone shouldn't have a decent shot at this mount. The boss is nowhere near as hard as Ahune or the Headless Horseman.

I just happened to get the Kodo on my first run on the first day...its pretty cool, but the crazy amount of people running around with hops-transformed mounts make it kind of 'meh.

If you have this and Mojo, or know someone who has Mojo, use a growth potion and then mount up and blow mojo a kiss. Turns you into a frog and makes this thing ridiculously huge.

been lucky i guess,seen the ram drop 3 times but the kodo only once...blizz sais they have equal chance of dropping....either bull^&*! or just my luck,im ally with winterspring frostsaber so i pass on the ram ofc,but still that imba kodo(looks great on black armored NE war) wont be mine...sure only been able to do the Qst 3 times,4 times a day(always 1 who dosent have the Q) +2 when iluckily got into a grp where 2 could summon

PS. Brewfest,Halloween and Fire fest are the best fests ever

Edit: it may seem that alot of ppl got the mount couse some ppl buy fresh goblin hops to transform your mount into 1,so no it aint that easily gotten

out of 5 kills he droped the ram on 2nd kill ( i got it ) and he droped the kodo on 3rd kill , honestly the kodo looks crappy on alliance , it only looks good on a tauren , i think anyone will just look sad riding one , its like riding a dog .

anyways our shadow priest wanted it so bad , and i passed on it for him , grats batteryspec.

I hate kodos, have always hated kodos, 2/3 of my 70's are tauren so I get exalted with Orgrimmar, Mag'Har or w/e asap.

But THIS!

The German colors (black, gold, red) for Brewfest just look fantastic. They really did a great job on this mount, and I'm very very very happy to say I got one--about 15th run, on my tank drood. This is the only kodo mount I've ever actually liked and I LOVE it.

Have gotten healer trink for my healer, dps trink for both rogue and druid, dagger for rogue, and now the mount. Have I mentioned I LOVE THIS BOSS?

I am at 81 runs, and still nothing.
There is a guild on my server that has gotten one EVERY attempt...

Saw this mount drop twice out of 20 runs the first night, first the mage won it, then the priest. Maybe it just drops more on my server, but it's really pretty common. I seriously have the most crap loot luck in the world though, and since each try means more people in the group that don't yet have it I could easily see this drop 20 times and not win. Bah, at least I can still pvp for welfare mounts, and there's always a talbuk :D

Hey, i did this brewfest quest for 4 days in a row, and each day got the summon 5 times, if you go with a group who each have a summon, its more worthwhile.
on the second day the kodo dropped, and i never won it, but yesterday on the 4th day it dropped and i won it... i also managed to win the dps trinket equivalent to bloodlust brooch and that remote on all my attempts.
everyone who wants that kodo, keep going everyday with a group who can summon, and i wish you luck, becos it is a sweet mount. especially for an ally to get =D and definitely worth the little time spent each day... PS: the boss is sooooper easy! good luck

My guild ran this last night for 3-4 hours to get everyone a chance at this boss and let me say I was in the first 5 person round and got lucky and won the roll on this mount. I am estatic as it's the first rare mount I've won in the game.

We got the Ram mount to drop in the same rotation. We must have got lucky as the groups after that never saw the mounts again.
