I was testing out the proc rate of the mana restore on this last night. This isn't really very scientific as I only tested it for about 15 mins, but as far as I can tell, it doesn't proc on Consecration tics, SoC procs, JoC, or Crusader Strike. I was spamming them the whole time. The ONLY time that I ever saw it restore mana was on my JotC, and that was usually once in every 4-5 mobs. The AP is nice, but I was really excited about the mana restore facet of the trinket. After testing it out I'm feeling pretty underwhelmed. Anyone else have more concrete info on what sets this proc off?

All I can say is if you're saving your HH marks and you're a Ret Pally, go for the Libram of Zeal first. Much more bang for your buck (mark?), as far as I'm concerned.

I also didn't see this thing proc that often. I may be going back to my Hand of Justice since it proc'd often enough to make a difference. If this proc'd more it'd be a different story.

This trinket is rubbish for anything but a Healadin. Seal procs and Judgments (except Righteousness and Vengeance) do not count as spells. Since Healing spells are actual spells, this works nicely with them, however even then, there are better options. Don't waste 30 tokens on this, unless you have them to spare and have no better healing trinkets available.

However, this trinket is wonderful for a Shaman of any sort. Even enhancement, due to their lack of a mana pool, and Shocks and such will proc it. I think paladins should have recieved the Mark of Conquest instead, or make another like this that procs off of melee attacks.

Trinket is a decent Enhancement Shaman trinket as well. The proc (15% proc) would allow shamans to keep on bringing in mana throughout a fight, and the 54 attack power really helps. Enchancement specs are mana intensive and a shaman won't die until his mana runs out , so this is a suggested item until you replace it with something better at 70.

This isn't bad at all for Retribution, and even better for Protection.

It procs off all of the following:
- Any Judgement.
- Holy Shock.
- Hammer of Justice.
- Repentance.
- Exorcism.
- Holy Wrath.
- Inital Consecration.

It will not proc on:
- Heals or buffs.
- Seal casts or hits.

Basically, if the cast is able to be resisted, it can proc this trinket.

I've found it to be pretty cool to use when I spec Ret, because it synchronizes very well with the talent that returns 50% of the judged seal's cost, basically evening off that other 50% and then a little extra. What's also neat is that it can proc multiple times for AoE spells like Holy Wrath and Consecration. For Consecration, however, it will only proc off the first tic.

Sum: good for Ret because it makes use of the AP bonus, good for Prot because it uses Consecration more often.

I am thinking that with the upcoming patch that nerfs a pally's ability to regain base mana cost on a crit healing spell, that this trinket will become quite valuable when spamming flash of light. The base cost of the rank 7 flash of light spell is 180 mana and the 10% proc rate on this, while not as good as my 15% holy spell crit rate and not quite as much mana, seems like a good way to make up for the nerf? Plus, you would still get 50% of your mana back on crits. The only problem with this trinket is that is has no bonus to healing.

Any thoughts? Is there a better trinket out there?

And chance on ATTACK to regain mana would be much better for enhance shammies and paladins. Kinda like how https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=27921 gives hunters mana on ranged attacks.

This also procs from a lvl1 earthshock tho. I interrupt a spell, i get alot more back then it cost in the first place. Its indeed abit strange of a trinket for shamans, but i still use it with much pleasure.

I got this thing ages ago and, like many retadins, thought it was quite cool. I later found it didn't really proc off of anything I did as Ret. I even tried it when I was holy lol. All in all I was quite disappointed...

Then it hit me. Refreshing a judgement counts too. As does procing vindication. I tried it and yes it does proc off those two. Finally, a use for it. So while it doesn't proc that often at all, it's nice to have as an add on to the other mana regens out there. Hammer of Destiny, Insightful Earthstorm Diamond, etc.. I have this and both the hammer and the meta gem and I get so much mana back now I don't even have to worry about it. :) My advice? Get all three if you can. The hammer, the meta gem and this trinket. Then you will definitely be ready for raids.

Shame it doesn't proc on Blessing of Sanctuary, Retribution Aura or Consecration. Would be the ultimate Tankadin trinket.

As of 3.0.2 and onward this trinket is almost worthless for a Ret Paladin besides the AP bonus. The mana restore doesn't work on seals, judgements, or Divine Storm. The only thing that procs the mana return for me is Exorcism.

At 1st glance, this trinket looks like a fantastic item for enhancement shaman. Aside from the Strength of the High Chief, there are scarce +AP trinkets available for the casual player at this level. Not to mention an enhance shammy has Maelstrom Weapon and Earth Shock included in the priority "rotation", plenty of chances to proc the mana regen.

However, with the amount of time needed to grind 30 marks and the ease of earning quest rewards all the way to level 70, far better to move on to more advanced areas for your trinket slots. With frequent Shamanistic Rage, mana-free shield twisting of Lightning / Water Shields and the patch 3.1.x change to Improved Stormstrike returning mana, mana has sorta stopped being a concern.

In general, the items sold via Marks of Honor Hold/Thrallmar are outdated. As somebody pointed out, DK have no reason to go for any of these items, and balance druids don't even have any choices. Enhancement shamans get more bang for buck with the Totem of Impact for stronger shocks and 4 bag slots freed.

As of this patch Mark of Conquest, Mark of Defiance, & Mark of Vindication are no longer available from this vendor. I just checked today on my Draenei DK..

Just so you know, because I got this item due to curiosity:

1. It doesn't proc off heals.
2. It doesn't proc off Seal of Righteousness' hit-attacks. IE: Activate SoR and autoattack and it won't proc.
3. Retribution Aura can't proc it, so i'd assume lightning shield can't proc it either but I dunno. Consecration also cannot proc it as it kinda falls into the same family I guess.
4. Chance to proc was 5% exactly (40 casts of Judgement of Righteousness and 8 procced the thing). Not exactly a large sample, but the 5% seems like it's probably true.

8 divided by 40 is not 5% -- it's 20%, you grade school dropout. 20% is quite a respectable proc rate for that kind of trinket, but I doubt the result of 40 attempts means much.

im not sure if this would be correct but... a shammy who has (i think its called this) 'totem of the storm' i.e free level 1 lightning spells at 0.5sec

with the new patch 2.10... he could cast off level 1 lightning and then use shocks when he crits and gets elemental focus (this way he would always be on regen as hes not using any mana) *use high lvl shocks... most ele shammys sit on %30 crit rate for lightning so you can still do dps while regen

and while doing this he should get 15 procs from the trinket per minute giving 2250ish mana (187.5 mp5)... this could be pretty helpful in raids...

just a quick thought, maths mite be wrong (will it even proc off lvl 1 spells tho, if not wats the lowest spell lvl, 3 below top lvl?)

this trinket blows...

yeah the ap is nice but only if your a melee shaman/paly... we don't cast enough spells to make this any good

the spell restor is nice if you a elemental shaman or a spell dmg paladin... but then the ap becomes usless

the spell castors should get teh same benifit that other castors get... and melee should get the same value out of there trinket than the other classes too...

why are these bound to a class... us shaman/paly hybrids get screwed over with this trinket.

We should have a choice on the trinket for the one that suits our play style the best

Using it the last 3 levels with my 69 shaman, I have done some good testing and found that the mana return proc ONLY PROCS WITH DAMAGING SPELLS to the best of my knowledge. I have never ever EVER seen it go off from using stormstrike (922 times in the last 4 days) or getting a windfury (a lot more than 922 :) ) - ever.

This trinket never once proc'd off of any heals or totem spell. It DOES proc with lightning shield, but not with water shield (as expected since it only procs from damaging spells)

It proc'd for me once in every 3 fights with lightning shield against the ogres in Zangramarsh, which was also 1 cast per ogre killed, and approx. 20 seconds in between each kill. It did skip a few fights and stray from that formula, but after 150 kills it proc'd about 37 times. This agrees with the previous posts on the % chance to process being around 20-25%.

I would assume it procs the same way with pally spells, although I have not tested it what so ever.

In short, if you are heavy enhancement, and some elemental, you will get the best benifit from this trinket as a shaman.

I still use it just b/c of lightning shield, and how much it can help with the appropriate talents, (Improved lightning shield & mental quickness) and the enhancement gladiator gauntlets which ill have soon hopefully.

Hope that helped clear up any confusion.

This thing is kinda crappy to be honest. Yet, at the same time, it's kinda good. Not worth 30 marks, to be sure. First thing I noticed is that it hardly procs at all and only for damaging spells. This would have been great for healadins if it could proc of heals...but no...never....then it would actually be worth something.....and blizzard always does it's best to make sure you are always a little angry with the stuff you work hard for lol. But anyway, this thing procs off of JoR, JoV, Conecrate (The initial casting of Consecrate), and Holy Shock. Not sure about SoC/JoC yet. Gonna try that later. Not bad if you have nothing better, of course. I solo with this and it's nice to have. But it is indeed something you can't rely on at all. Get it if you have nothing better to put in it's place. Maybe they'll fix it later...I hope. O.O

as a holy specced pally but with gear specced for dps ( 2 diff setups) i find this good for the atk power but useless for the mana

Not sure if that counts as a spell or physical attack.

well yea this is uselss for paladins. the only spells that "hit" we cast are judgement of righteousness, thats every 8 seconds. we do cast alto of spells tho.

judgement
its upseting only one of these can proc it

After extensive testing, the mana restore simply does not proc from Seal/Judgement of Command. I notified a GM about it, and he says they are working to correct this in a future patch.

So for retribution paladins, the mana restore will only proc very infrequently from hammer of justice and hammer of wrath. If you need the attack power, there's many other trinkets available to fill that role. Until this is fixed, this trinket kinda sucks for ret.

But no, what do I see? Chance on restoring mana on spell cast? So as a tank I though like, okey this can be good too, I mean, I've got +10 mobs on me all the time, this would be good with Consecration, Retribution Aura or perhaps Seal of Righteousness.

But no, non of these abilities can procc of the trinket, so I said to myself, okey, I might go as healadin someday, although the AP would be useless than but it must be good to get a free Flash of Light every once and a while, but noooo, this doesn't either proc from healing spells.

I imagine this is a pretty nice trinket for Elemental or Enhancement Shamans mostly because of the talents they have to reduce the mana costs of their damage spells.

Elemental Shamans always cast Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning and/or Shocks, so obviously that will trigger the proc, and with Elemental Focus, some of that mana spent on casting will be returned, prolonging your chain of lightning casts.

Enhancement Shamans only cast Shocks, but that's very often and usually while Shamanistic Focus is on and sometimes after a Stormstrike. The proc may even just refund the mana you spent on a Shamanistic Focus Shock.

With Water Shield on in either scenario, your mana would last longer than usual.
