(keep in mind that to be able to buy the epic flying mont skill, you have to buy the normal flying mount skill first, which costs you 800G, all counted together, having and flying and epic gryphon/wyvern, costs 6000G, now go farm!)

All Swift Gryphons are 100% speed on land and 280% speed in the air. Paladin's Crusader Aura is also confirmed to work with all flying mounts including the epic ones.

I just want to note that the "60% flight speed" mounts such as the Snowy Gryphon are only 60% on land also, which makes this 280% mount even more worth the while to get.

Normal Flying mount = 100g + 800g skill cost REQ level 70

Epic Flying mount = 200g + 5000g skill cost REQ level 70

All the rumors about the training for the epic mount were true, 5000g. What people forgot is that you have to train for the normal one first, then epic.

So the total includes:

Normal flying train 800
Epic flying train 5000
Epic flying mount 200

Total 6000 gold.

Or in real world terms, if one were to go out and buy the gold online at say $120 per 1000, $600 dollars, give or take.

I did a lot of resources months before BC game out, AH for every green, and every bar of whatever, and every piece of cloth, and when we were close to 70, I pretty much had it. It was still a hard pill to swallow spending 6000 in less than a minute.

Also take into account that when you hit 70, you'll be spending 60-70 gold for your last skill set.

That all being said, the epic flying is worth it to some people. If you mine, or do herbs, nothing beats it. You just drop down to whatever, grab it, and then get out. The speed is impressive. I routinely avoid the flight paths, and just head there at pretty much the same speed, picking up stuff on the way.

The normal mounts are fine for most, and at 900 gold, they should be. You can still use them to get into hard to reach places, and they are great for helping out friends.

And for you fellow Paladins, let me know if you can tell the difference when you put on your crusader aura, no matter what flying you pick.

I find it very stupid that you pay 100g for 60% then 600g for 100% and then 1000g for 60% then 5000g for 280%. I do not understand this 60%>100%>60%>280%...That is really stupid. Blizzard needs to make it something like 60%>100%>150%>280% or something like that so we're not paying thousands of gold to go slower.

If you want the armored netherdrake u will have to be the number 1 arena team. The unarmored one will just be a very long quest chain and u will need a flying mount to do it.

And for all you who don't wanna pay for the mount...its never too late to reroll druid!

I got this lovely nount now. Worth it! . When u got epic flying u get ur netherwing qs which is about 100g aday for their daily qs.

I've make the 5000g with selling only Primal of Fire and Mana on the AH.
1 hour farming is about 3-4-5 primals of fire (21-25g 1 primal on Eonar)
1 hour farming is about 5-6-7 primals of mana (17-21g 1 primal on Eonar)

So avg it takes 60 dedicated hours of farming.

This runs at 100% on land, 280% in the air. They also open up the netherwing dailies which help even more to get back your money after buying one of these guys. I don't care about the color just the speed.
