This fight requires only one tank for Grobbulus. Any other players slightly capable of tanking can pick up the 辐射软泥怪 that spawn throughout the encounter, or they can just be nuked down by damage dealers.

The main tank for Grobbulus will need to slowly drag him around the room. Every time he drops a 毒云 at his feet, he'll need to be moved away from that so that the tank and melee damage dealers are not standing in the nature damage effect that it causes. It is important to not move too far each time, to minimize the amount of movement the healers and ranged damage dealers need to do to stay in range.

Tips for Melee on Grobbulus

Melee damage dealers will need to make sure they aren't standing in any of the many 毒云 that spawn throughout the fight to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

As usual melee want to attack from behind the boss which is a little more difficult than usual with the frequent movement this boss requires you'll need to be extra careful to never move in front of the boss. Grobbulus has a frontal cone attack that spawns adds based on the number of targets hit, so you don't want to be the doofus melee who gets hit by that and spawns extra adds!

Sometimes you will get the 变异注射 debuff. You should immediately run away from the other melee, usually to an area the boss has already been. Once you are in a good spot you can either let the debuff expire or have it cleansed off of you. At this time you'll explode for some extra damage to anyone near you and also spawn a 毒云 at your feet - that is why you needed to be away from everyone else.

Tips for Ranged on Grobbulus

Ranged damage dealers and healers should be positioned in a central location in the room. This allows Grobbulus to be dragged around them while requiring minimal movement from the ranged and healers.

Sometimes you will get the 变异注射 debuff. You should immediately run away from the other ranged and healers into an area behind the boss - not in front of him. Once you are in a good spot you can either let the debuff expire or have it cleansed off of you. At this time you'll explode for some extra damage to anyone near you and also spawn a 毒云 at your feet - that is why you needed to be away from everyone else.

Tips for Healers on Grobbulus

Healers should be positioned in a central location in the room with the ranged damage dealers. This allows Grobbulus to be dragged around them while requiring minimal movement from the ranged and healers.

Healers should watch out for the players who receive 变异注射. You should not immediately remove it and instead wait for the player to have moved away from other players into a good position before you dispel it. When it is removed, the afflicted player will explode for poison damage to everyone around them and drop a 毒云 at their feet. This is bad news if it happens right on top of the melee stack or the ranged and healer stack!

Grobbulus Abilities for Naxxramas in Wrath of the Lich King Classic

Ability

Description

变异注射

Mutating Injection is frequently cast on random raid members. When it expires or when it is dispelled, the player will spawn a 天灾云雾 at their location and explode dealing nature damage to themselves and any other players within 20 yards of them.

毒云

Grobbulus will frequently cast this which spawns a 天灾云雾 at his feet.

天灾云雾

A Grobbulus cloud is spawned by two different abilities in this encounter and does the same thing regardless of how it is spawned. It cannot be targeted, attacked, or killed. It will slowly grow in area and constantly deals nature damage per second with 中毒 to anyone standing within the area.

黏液喷溅

Slime Spray is a frontal cone attack that is used by Grobbulus frequently. It deals significant nature damage to all players in front of Grobbulus and for each player damaged by this attack, a 辐射软泥怪 will spawn.
