Fire Mage DPS Pre-Raid Best in Slot Gear - Wrath of the Lich King Classic

Welcome to Wowhead's Pre-Raid Best in Slot Gear list for Fire Mage DPS in Wrath of the Lich King Classic. This guide will list the recommended gear for your class and role, containing gear sourced from dungeons, PvP, professions, BoE World drops, and reputations.
Best in Slot Gear for Fire Mage DPS Pre-Raid
Fire Mages are extremely lacking in the Hit department, with 0 given by talents, only 3% from Raid Debuffs, because of this - at least early on - we'll be compensating with some Hit Gems and mostly focusing on Hit gear. Past this focus on a healthy mix of Spell Power, Critical Strike Rating and Haste Rating. Overall all these stats are equally important towards a balanced set, and they change in value depending on how much of the other stats you already have.
Hit - Aim for 14% Hit Rating, because we only get access to the raid debuffs

Spell Power - Having higher spell power will increase the damage of the spells themselves.

Fire Mages need a lot of hit, because of this items with high stats combined with multiple gem sockets perform really well. Either

There's not a lot of worthwhile options to aim for as an Fire Mage when it comes to chestpieces.
This is because the best pre-raid options are both very easy to obtain:

you can obtain through time, higher offensive stats and has two sockets where you can place hit gems to begin with, and swap them at a later time for more offensive gems.

you can obtain with gold, helps you get hit capped easily but has less staying power.
It is important to know that

hence why they're the best options - individually the other alternative
can
be better based on the rest of your current set.

Here the options are plenty, but

is a bit better than the rest at least with this set.
碧蓝布质护腕
does scale harder and will last you longer if you choose to go for that instead.
At the same time,

when combined with a new gem performs relatively close because of how lacking in hit Fire Mages are.

Similarly to the Chest slot, not a lot of options here due to how easy both the best ones are to obtain:

Quite a lot of options here, but
红龙怒火便鞋
is safe to farm as it only requires reputation and better than other options. If you already have
风暴长靴
, because of the built-in Hit it has plus the gem socket for extra hit, it's a very solid early option as well.

performs a little better but not worth chasing after.
As a side note, both

and

are a Bind on Equip items from 25-Man raids,

and
永恒之眼
respectively. They will be very expensive and hard to get early though, so I didn't base the list on it as their stats somewhat impact what the rest of the set would look like. If you are interested in getting either of them,

is far better for Fire Mage because of its Hit.

already crafted or through a crafter which doesn't have any Hit meaning it makes the rest of your gearing somewhat more complicated.

As for rings,

are both pretty expensive to get but they're both the best options you have as a Fire Mage.

because of it's high stats and upgradability.

because it has a solid stats combined with a socket which can be either used for Hit early or Spell Power later on as you get Hit on other slots.
If you don't have the gold for these or just don't want to bother investing that much into early gear - then
狡诈指环
and
安海尔德之戒
both perform similarly and will be more than fine until you get raid gear.
For hit alternatives, now that Hallow's End has happened
无头骑士的印记
is a great item which provides some much needed early hit, there's also
致命角斗士的支配指环
which can be a lifesaver for early high with high spell power, making it an easy pickup - this performs a little worse that the event ring.

is easy to get, and better than any other Pre-Raid options. Get this. There's also a chance that the

is available at the start of Wrath of the Lich King through the

event. This trinket is just a copy of
流放者的日晷
but can save you a few badges early on if you can obtain it.
As for your second trinket the best and easiest choice is
战争囚徒印记
because it helps you reach Hit Cap while having okay offensive stats as well. Alternatively there's also
熔炉的灰烬
which has good stats overall but will force you to go for weaker items on the rest of your set to get Hit capped with.

is the best Pre-Raid weapon you can get as a Fire Mage. But it's
very expensive
. If you're not willing to spend that much gold, you can farm out

which achieves the same goal towards Hit Cap, but has weaker offensive stats. Alternatively
巫妖诅咒之刃
is also an okay early option until you get the reputation for the former and is pretty close in performance.
