It is doable. There are even more quests available then needed for the 3 Loremaster achievements we can do right now.

Use websites like this to locate quests. Quest-tracking addons would be helpfull if you've used them all the time. Otherwise just use the "Low Level Quest" tracking option (mini-map) and visit all areas listed.

For Kalimdor:
The amount of quests seems to be low, but if you check the list of areas, you'll notice that Silverpine Forrest (Easern Kingdoms!) is on the list for Loremaster of Kalimdor. Unknown if that is intended or not. But i needed those q's to finaly hit 700. Others might not need it, for example if you did the AQ-gate q's. With those i would've hit 700 even without SilverpineForrest.

For horde it is doable yes, alliance will have a harder time.

Some tips for people though:
- Salve through hunting and similar count, so gatherers are lucky
- Timbermaw, Frostsaber reputation quests count
- Dire Maul Libram quests do not count
- Blacksmiths check out Lorax in Winterspring for a free quest
- Fallen Hero of the horde chain in Blasted Lands has about 9 quests in there
- All the beached turtles in Darkshore count
- Goblin in Durotar has 2 quests
- Holiday quests do not count if you were counting on it
- AQ quest has a bunch of quests
- Tier 0.5 quests count
- Check in a chain that leads to some place far off if quests later on are in Kalimdor again
- The Sprite Darter pet chain quests in Hinterlands count as Kalimdor
- Don't bother farming for Cuergo's Gold or Pristine Yeti Hide, they don't count
- Hyppograph egg quests from Feralas/Tanaris count once

The quests in Dustwallow Marsh at Witch Hill (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=11180) - also note that the pile of loose dirt at Witch Hill that starts a quest has a new (and longer!) quest line after you have delivered the first thing in the pile!

Also, note that all the quests from The Shimmering Flats that have you run all other kinds of places (Badlands and Stranglethorn Vale to name a few), also count as Kalimdor quests.

I just tried doing the Salve quests, and neither turning in the things to get the salve, nor curing the plants counted toward the 700 quests. Likewise the Timbermaw headdress feathers turn in did not count, nor the quests from the Fallen hero of the Horde. Maybe they were mistakes that have been fixed... but I'm stuck at 649 right now, with a few raid quests left to do... ughhhh

It seems that the donation of cloth (wool/silk/magewaeve/runecloth) count the first time you hand them in. I have not tried if this is true for every racial capitol but I think they do as they have different quest id's.

A couple things that may have been overlooked:

- The quests inside of Dire Maul count; this includes bullying Stomper Kreeg. Going to try the ogre suit and trap later, but freeing the goblin for the first time also counts.
- There is a Gordunni Scroll item in Feralas. This is 3 quests.
- In the Badlands, the quest starting from 1k Needles for Martek the Exile counts towards Kalimdor. This will follow up for a few more back in 1K Needles.
- The centaur reputation related quests in Desolace.
- The timbermaw reputation related quests.

Some other things that I haven't tried yet, but may be worth a shot:
- Burning Steppes' Broodling Essence chain goes back to Winterspring.
- The Awbee chain from UBRS

Phew, so much trouble just to "be prepared." Good luck, Loremasters!

The fallen hero of the horde quests definately count. I just did them and every part of the chain counted.
The quests in Blasted Lands for turning in animal parts do not count.
I'll check the salve next. I skipped it because I assumed it wouldn't count but we'll see.

I had an odd experience with this achievement. I had about 650/700 when I set out to finish it, and relied mainly upon the new(er) quests in Duskwallow Marsh to get me up closer to 700. I then managed to find a few random quests here and there, but was unable to get past 695. I even tried to do a few of the repeatable Silithus turn-ins that I had never gotten around to when AQ came out, but after doing 1 of the Combat Assignments I noticed I got no credit.

However, as I was roaming the Barrens tonight looking for the 4 rare spawns there before heading up to Azshara to do the two from Kim'jael, I went to put the achievement on track and noticed that I had somehow completed it. I'm really not sure how this happened, unless there was a serious lag delay on a quest that should've counted for it.

I will say, that I play on Arthas, which has been riddled with lag, restarts, and shutdowns recently. This might have something to do with it, but I'm not complaining that I got it completed! I am still curious as to what really happened though.

My advice to people trying to get it is to be very thorough with all of your escort quests and zone/monster drop quest items. I had thought I had already gotten quite a few on my rogue only to realize I was thinking of another character that had completed a particular quest.

I achieved Loremaster of Kalimdor today, one of the hardest achievements.

Tips

- Do all instance quests in Eastern Kingdoms, most of them lead to chains/turn-ins in Kalimdor. Personally, my last 2 quests were the Discs of Platinum chain quests from Uldaman in Kargath, that lead you to Uldum in Southern Tanaris, and through a bunch of quests in Thunder Bluff.

-Do the Dungeon Set 1 upgrade quests to get Dungeon Set 2 , this is like 30 quests, all of which count towards Kalimdor.

-Complete all cloth turn-in quests, there are 4 quests per fection, that's 16 quests.

-Try to get Eye of C'thun, Head of Onyxia, Head of Nefarian, and other boss items all these start quests that count towards Kalimdor.

Having finished both achievements, i'm at a total of 2266 quests with a couple of them yet to be finished, and others yet to be started

Time for a practical breakdown by the numbers for where Horde have quests.
This list excludes all seasonal quests.
Understand that some quests will send you to other zones and require traveling out of Kalimdor, or be part of a chain that leads you to Kalimdor.
This list is imperfect, as credit is only given for where the quest ends. Consider it a basic guideline only, until such time as someone can perfect the list.

GRAND TOTAL: 1047 quests. When the achievement asks for 700, how can this be correct? Well, what this tells you is where you will be questing, not what zone or continent the quest counts for. Some of the quests have overlap as well, which I intend to remedy. I plan to post a new more accurate list using a different method later, but for now this should be helpful.

Visiting all the candy buckets during Hallows End also count toward your total quests completed. At least they counted for me, contrary to what one poster said above. There are around 33 or so of them for horde. Its a little late now that Hallows end is over, but there is always next year.

Don't forget about Chen's Keg and the group of rare elite alliance that pats on Southern Gold Road in the Barrens. Chen's Keg is worth 2 quests and from the group of alliance, you can loot a drop quest.

edit-That's strange, I got credit for the initial keg turn-in and the first beverage quest. Was watching the achievement tracker when i did it, and they counted.

Just did "The Stones that Bind Us" through "The Demon Hunter", none of which counted for Kalimdor. "Loramus", "Breaking the Ward" and "The Name of the Beast" all counted for Kalimdor. I stopped there since those are what brought me to 700. ;)

I lost 9 quests after the 3.0.3 patch today. Anyone pursuing this achievement better hurry before the requirements get harder. Every patch it seems to get harder. If you get the achievement, it doesn't matter what happens in the feature. Blizz doesn't take away achievements. They will take away from your quest counter if you've been putting this one off.

Seems like the last parts of the 0.5 Quest Chain have been removed from the criteria. Only left with some Dire Maul quests right now, no idea how to get the last 11.

The amount of frustration this achievement brings is pretty awesome. I just finished repairing all of my goblin city reputations and I'm still sitting around 675 completed quests. I have not done the AQ quest chain, do not plan on continuing past the distiller in the 0.5 tier chain, and left 1 quest undone in Stonetalon Mountains. I have systematically gone through each zone and all available quest givers and I can say with great confidence that Kalimdor is done.

I wish there was a more concise list of the quests in EK that award Kalimdor credit so I'll be posting the ones I see that start and end there that are associated to Kalimdor for some reason.

I am playing horde and this archievement is a really pain.

Now I have earned this. But some quests doesnot count if you are looking at the counter... but I got this archievement with 697/700 kalimdor quests. I lost about 6 or 7 quests at the counter, too.

The last quests I made were the 5th and 6th table in LBRS, the Marvin Riverseek Temple Quests and the Linken Quests (sweet!).

Dont forget the drop quests near Camp Taurojo (4 famous wild drop quests and 1 alliance patrol drop), the big new quests in the marsches and desolace (carawan quests, swimming key/chest quest). You really have to make every quest you can get.

You have check your regions! There are some new bloodelf quests in almost every region now (e.g. 1000needles). Dont forget the stranglethorn quests from the gnomes and goblin in the flat.

When doing this achievement do not rely solely on the tracker. I was practically having a breakdown because the tracker showed that I had 6 or so quests left to complete, only one more quest I knew about, and no idea where I was going to find the rest. I remembered an incident earlier when my tracker did not update right away, and lo and behold when I went into my achievements window to look at Loremaster of Kalimdor directly I had 729/730 completed. Save yourself some grief and double check the achievement once in a while.

Also these chaps may have been overlooked, in 1000 Needles: There is a Tauren located in the far back of Highperch (up the hill by the totem) you escort him out. Quest is called "Homeward bound". Also, Dorn Plainstalker gives a list of 10 quests also in 1000 Needles. It starts with "Test of Faith". He is located on the north cliff cave "The Weathered Nook" north of Freewind Post. The path is east of the centaur village along the back wall. In addition there are a few quests off the beaten track in Dustwallow Marsh: an Ogre that does "Hungry!" and an escort that does "Stinky's Escape".

I used the Zone maps in Wowhead here and then used the Alliance quest filter to provide me a good general list of NPCs. Print the maps out and then start crossing off NPCs as you go from Zone to Zone.

Same time, filter Wowhead under Items with the filter for 'Starts a Quest' / Yes... and also 'Drops in...' using the Zone you are currently scouring NPC started quests, and you'll have a good working list to use for scouring the continent. Example: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/items&filter=cr=6:16;crs=1:3524;crv=0:0 (Make sure to check to see if the faction applies to you prior to proceeding).

As Alliance, I found my final quests as drop items in Azuremyst Isle.

For those complaining that Horde have less to do, well, there are less quests for us to do, so just as hard.

If you're Horde and have multiple characters, would advise you to use a high-up from pre-TBC times, if you can.

I completed this just in time for expansion with my Blood Elf. But it was a very painful quest. Had to open up the tier .5 chain; part of the AQ chain, and so on. There are also a ridiculous number of quests that count not at all (pretty much all listed above).

Persevere. Ask your guildies. Check Wowhead, cross-ref with Thottbot. Keep Low Level Quests permanently on. And you'll get there.

If you are a few quests short try doing the other side of the desolace centaur quests. Its a pain at 70 but it will get you 5 quests

This achievment is in line for some changes.

Loremaster of Kalimdor has been changed from 730 to 700 quests for the Alliance, from 700 to 685 quests for the Horde. It seems that they no longer include Silverpine Forest quests and now take Darnassus, Exodar, and Caverns of Time quests into account.

World of Warcraft PTR Patch 3.0.8

Achievement: The Loremaster of Kalimdor Achievement has had its quest amount reduced.

Loremaster of Kalimdor has been changed from 730 to 700 quests for the Alliance and from 700 to 685 quests for the Horde.

Silverpine Forest quests will now correctly count towards the Eastern Kingdoms rather then Kalimdor. If you have already completed the Kalimdor achievement via the Silverpine quests you will not lose it although the correct count will be displayed in your achievement panel. If you have not yet completed the achievement however, credit for the Silverpine quests will be deducted from the total for Kalimdor.

Many quests in Darnassus, The Exodar, and the Caverns of Time which did not previously count towards the Loremaster achievement are now counted.

The first series of quests from the Fallen Hero count for Eastern Kingdoms, not Kalimdor (which this comment section is comments on). So don't expect all quests of this long chain to go towards Kalimdor.

If you are unsure which continent a quest will count towards, have a look to see which zone it is classed under in your quest log. It will (usually) count for the continent that zone is part of.

As mentioned already, there are the 4 quests from drops in the Barrens, from various animals. There's also a similar thing in Ashenvale, 3 animals (bear, cat, hippogrphy) that drop an item each which start a quest where all you do is turn in the item. After turning all in all 3, you'll then get another quest (which is too just speak to the NPC who you turn the items into) for a total of 4.

I've completed the Eastern Kingdoms achievement, but there are still a lot more quests that are available that count as Eastern Kingdoms, including quests from chains that I need in order to get a few credit for Kalimdor. Kalimdor is pretty tough to complete. At the moment I'm at 688/700. I've started the Fallen Hero quest chain and expect to get 7 Kalimdor credit from the chain (695/700). I still have the Lost Tablets quests, which will only give me 1 for Kalimdor out of the whole quest series (696/700). There's Emberseers Eye, which will be 1 (697/700)...and then after that it's more of the painful quests like Tier 0.5 quests, which I was hoping to avoid.

Unfortunately none of the task briefing dossier quests in Silithus, for Cenarion Circle, give credit towards this. I have yet to confirm if completing the badge turnins will give credit.

Aside from that, though, don't waste your time killing 30x 30y 30z 30a 30b for this achievement.

Im hated with steamwheedle. But even if i missed some quests in Ratchet/Gadgetzan & Mudsprocket it will not Help much.

Can someone who has 700 by now link some quests i might missed in EasternKingdoms wich ends in Kalimdor? :(

If you've done all the Mulgore quests but it was a while ago, check back again...I just found that the quest Kyle's Gone Missing! was added after I did them, so I picked up one more there. This was the quest that they creating for the kid with cancer through the Make A Wish Foundation.

As of December 25th, 2008, the requirement for this achievement on the PTR is 685 quests.

Makes getting this achievement enormously less painful.

Edit: For those trying to get this done before 3.0.8 a helpful suggestion might be that some instance quests actually do give credit towards the loremaster. For instance I got the last 9 or 10 quests to 700 from doing Maraudon and BFD quests.

Make sure to do The Shimmering Flats chain quests, because a lot of them go back and forth between Booty Bay and The Shimmering Flats. However, some of the quests that end up turning in to Booty Bay count for Loremaster of Kalimdor.

Just my 2 cents.
>A Talking Head did my last 3 quests from 697-700. It's in Silverpine Forest so while I was looking around in Kalimdor itself, these 3 slipped by.
>Don't forget ALL escort quests - just search in wowhead for quest givers by zone.
>The OOX-chicken quests in Feralas and Tanaris COUNT. 4 quests. You may spend some time farming for this drop.
>Also search for items that drop and start quests - use wowhead for this: Search items and put criteria 1) 'Starts a quest' and 2) 'Drops in...' - Again check all Kalimdor zones and Silverpine. Some you will have missed.
>As last resort go for .5 tier chain and Blackrock Spire (quests at Flame Crest, Burning Steppes and Kargath, Badlands) as some will send you to Kalimdor later.
NOTE: You really don't have to go through all the work of doing the 0.5 tier chain as it involves alot of effort. You just need to know how to look for the quests you want.

I managed to pull this one off early this morning. I started working on it at 353 quests and spent 4 days doing it. I was sitting at 674 after completing any quest I could find. This included every single quest available for the main Kalimdor instances except for AQ. I even completed the Ony key chain and did quite a few quests in Silithus that required many cultist disguise sets. I cleaned the continent out good yet I still remained at 674. I had my choice of doing the T whatever dungeon gear upgrades or running Silverpine. I obviously took SIlverpine but now I wonder what will happen come the next patch. I was informed that after you complete the achievement it not longer bothers to track the quests. So even if they do nerf Silverpine and make it not count towards Kalimdor, having already done it, I should still keep the credit for it since it will no longer check for it. I hope this holds true because even though the amount required will be reduced to 685 I would still be 11 quests short.

I spent several days working on this in the last week. I got Loremaster of Eastern Kingdom really early this morning and then this afternoon I scoured out the last few quests I needed for Kalimdor.

I am telling you now, it is in no way necessary to do the AQ chain or the dungeon 0.5 quests, of which I have done neither, to complete this achievement. There are tons and tons and tons of chains and several quests thrown in from Eastern Kingdom chains. Fallen Hero of the Horde's chain has 6-7 quests that all count for Kalimdor. Make sure you do check the drops from mobs. I also had several occasions when I went back to Shimmering Flats there was a new quest or two. Those are really easy. My suggestion if you're a mage is set your hearth in Tanaris. =P I stumbled across a drop quest in Ashenvale from the demons when I was trying to finish my shredder manual which is 2 quests. Even if you think you did those quests, chances are it was on an alt. Especially if you have been at least level 60 since before BC was released.

Yes, the achievement is doable, without going into the AQ or 0.5 questlines. The only AQ quest I did was the very first one, which is just to visit the Caverns of Time and report back: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=8286, which was too simple and easy to pass up. When I finally hit 700, I still had several quests in Silithus available, plus several in Dire Maul I hadn't yet completed. Granted, this achievement gives you far less leeway than its Eastern Kingdoms counterpart, where I had barely started in the Eastern Plaguelands, hadn't even looked into the Burning Steppes, nor done any quests related to Stratholme or the Blackrock instances, when I completed the achievement. As other posters have said, you have to hunt down pretty much every quest in every zone in Kalimdor, but thankfully a little research (thank you Wowhead!) goes a long way...

My question is - in 3.0.8, the amount of quests needed for Kalimdor is likely to be lowered to 685, 15 quests less. So far, that make sense. But... the Silverpine quests will be moved back to the EK achievement, right? I know I did far more than 15 quests in Silverpine, so won't that make the already tough Kalimdor achievement even harder, while making the already (relatively) easy EK achievement even easier? Seems a bit counter-productive if you ask me...

There are a couple of quests that helped me get Loremaster that aren't listed in these comments yet, or if they are, I didn't see them.

Robot Chicken escorts (homing beacons are random drops off almost any mob in the zone, I had them in my bank from leveling, I never completed them until I was working on Loremaster)

Escort out of Northwatch Hold in The Barrens: Free From the Hold
Escort out of Razorfen Kraul: Willix the Importer
Quest for Dire Maul from the Larris Pavilion in Feralas: Pusillin and the Elder Azj'Tordin

and don't waste your time doing the quests in Silithus for combat/tactical/logistics badges they don't count.

yeah this is now officially annoyed as hell ... I had 650 / 700 quests completed and now been reduced to 618 / 685 ... Ive been everywhere in Kalimdor ... I havent done AQ or the stupid tactical, logistic or combat quests in Silithus ... but Ive handed cloth in everywhere ... scoured every zone for drops and escort missions and am now totally lost .... I have 3 quests to hand in and thats it ... proper stuck now :( Any tips would be good

*SIGH* After the 3.0.8 patch the amount of quest needed for kalimdor decreased with 15. BUT my list of completed quest decreased even more (from 661 to 639 = 22). So by this 'nerf' Kalimdor just got harder to do since i need to find 7 quests more to do.

I finally finished this the other day. A few tips to add that I have not yet seen listed here:

1) Do not waste your time with the broken necklace chain from Orgrimmar that has you go to Uldaman; none of the chain counts towards the LoK achievement (or for that matter, LoEK, curiously enough).

2) Same thing applies to Rig Wars, the goblin quest from Orgrimmar that leads you to Gnomerigan.

3) The quests inside of Maradoun DO count.

4) Do not forget the Platinum Disks chain from Uldaman. The first three quests (two inside the instance and then the turn in at TB) do not count, but the five that follow do. Now that you no longer need three people to reach the final boss, this one is easily doable. Not to mention that the lore from this dovetails in nicely with that from Ulduar in the Storm Peaks, so it's rather timely.

5) On your minimap, remember to turn on your Low-Level Quest tracker and visit every single city/outpost/fortress/wide place in the road there is. This applies even to places that you think you have already done everything there is to do there. I know I found many quests at places I thought I had already done, only to find that either there were some that I had overlooked or forgotten about, or even quests that had been unlocked from previous quests but I had just simply not stumbled on them before. Some of those quests you thought you had already done on one character may have in fact been on another; such was the case for me in Feralas, which I had done on my alt but had forgotten that I had not done them on my main, so was pleasantly surprised to go there and find a treasure trove of waiting quests.

6) The only two out-of-the-ordinary quests I can think of that I did for this was a pair from AQ20. However, I finished it with one quest extra, had not done any of the Tier 0.5 quest chain, and still had two of the four named critters in southern Barrens that I had not found.

7) If you have not been into Shadow Hold underneath Jaedenar in Felwood yet, there's a 3-quest chain that starts with finding a key to unlock the night elf that's in a cage not far into mini dungeon.

8) Desolace in particular is full of two- and three-quest hubs, so be especially sharp-eyed in looking out for them throughout the zone.

9) Don't forget the quests on the border between the Barrens and the Stonetalon Mountains, due west of The Crossroads, as well as the quests involving killing invading centaur at the hut that's halfway between Crossroads and the Stonetalon border.

10) And especially don't forget the Onxyia attunement chain that starts at Kargath in the Badlands; while you no longer need it to enter her lair, it still has several quests that end in Kalimdor and count towards the achievement.

11) Oh, and two more I just remembered: When you reach exalted with the Timbermaw furbolg (easier now after the last patch) there is a quest that pops up from the black furbolg in the center of the Timbermaw Hold tunnel (turn on your low-quest tracker on your minimap if you need help finding him). He has you to summon and kill the demon that has possessed the Wintermaw east of Everlook, then when you turn that in, he sends you on a diplomatic mission to Thrall to make peace with the Horde (and Thrall shouts your praises so the whole zone can hear it). BOTH quests count.

12) While I do not know if it counts or not (and really, I have no idea how Blizz decides which quests count and which ones don't, or even why some don't) you may want to check out the Scholomance key quest that starts from a quest giver at the Bulwark on the Tirisfal Glades-WPL border. If memory serves, there are a couple quests in the chain that take you to Gadgetzan, so these may also count towards the LoK acheivement. Wouldn't hurt to try, anyway, if you haven't done it already.

13) Another two just stumbled across: one is called Tear of the Moon, which is given by an exiled dwarf in Bael'Modan in the Barrens south of the road leading into Dustwallow Marsh. He is located between the dig site itself and the mountains that separate the Barrens from Dustwallow, southeast of the keep in the area. The other is for Dig Rat Stew, which is given by an orc named Grub in a hut just to the east of the Crossroads and just north of the road to Ratchet. Both are easily overlooked.

14) There is an escort quest in both Razorfen Downs and Razorfen Kraul.

So, to sum up, this is indeed doable without getting into Tier 0.5/Scepter of the Shifting Sands quests (aside from the first one or two that are solo) but you really have to have the tenacity of a bloodhound to track all these quests down.

Just got Loremaster of Kalimdor myself today and it is the hardest achievements I have ever done.

Few tips:

Check so you have done the quest in southern barrens including tauren patrolling there.
Do the 20 chain quest in Dustwallow marsh with the blackshield and theramore guard badge.
Check all zones with This items begins a quest.
And gather dungeon set 1 set so you can upgrade it its about 28 quests just there.

Plenty of useful advice here, thought I might add some of my own.

Dawnwatcher Shaedlass in Darnassus surprisingly offers a quest for Horde. It is the alliance pre-quest to Blackfathom Villainy, but regardless of whether you've done that or not you can still pick up In Search of of Thaelrid.

Model 4711-FTZ Power Source is a quest reward in Gadgetzan for turning in 10 Wastewander Water Pouches. The quest to acquire the power source does not count towards the achievement, but the quest given by it does. It's a two part quest chain and has you travel back and forth to Undercity, keep in mind though that only the first part counts towards Kalimdor (the second towards Eastern Kingdoms.)

Onyxia can easily be soloed by most classes at level 80, and the quest for her head counts towards the achievement.

If you are a gatherer, Maybess Riverbreeze in Felwood offer two "Salve via..." quests, and they both count first time you do them.

I just finished the achievement by doing some quests in Dustwallow (which is one of the better zones with many quests.) I did not do the AQ quest chain nor the Tier 0.5 quests, and have still found like 5 spare quests since I got the title. In other words, this achievement isn't all that hard if you just have the energy to scan through every zone. Wowhead is your best friend for this.

I'm thinking this is a really tough achievement to do if you weren't around for the opening of the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj. If I could get a run together to down Nefarian to get his head I could unlock about 5 quests that I'm pretty sure count. In patch 3.0.8 I think some of the Hydraxian quests got bugged, but there is still one there you can do. I think it is a requirement for the horde to do both sides of the centaur quests in Desolace. Also, don't forget to do the Fallen Hero quest line which starts on the border of SoS and the Blasted Lands as that gives about 5-6 quests in Azshara. Oh, and don't forget Martek the Exiled has two quests in the badlands that do count towards 1k Needles.

Aside from that, I still think I'm coming up about 10-12 quests short. I have "the Seeker" (3000 quests) and Loremaster of EK with tons of quests over there to still complete.

Currently 667/685... +6 from the Margram quests in Desolace, +2 from the 1k needles, +2 Abyssal Scepter quests, +1 for the Sandy Cookbook (which I don't think I've done)... still leaves me 7 short... I'll let you know how it all pans out.

Oh, and a real easy quest to miss is The Demon Scarred Cloak which drops off Ghost Howl, a rare spawn around TB.

Both of the classic continent loremaster achievements would be much more manageable if they were to divide the sum total into the individual zone titles for each zone, like they do with outlands and northend. I'm about 120 quests from kalimdor achievement and i figure for the remaining i'll be doing a lot of scouring aimlessly through old places, trying to see what i've missed here and there. It's just a pain in the ass when you come down to the final stretch without having any way of knowing what is left and where, when the effort of doing that many quests alone should be enough work.

theres also the essence of eranikus quests which can add to your score- just take the chained essence of eranikus to Itharius in the cave in the swamp of sorrows, south of the entrance to deadwind.

This is a hard acheivment.....I don't think its worth the effort when you could be having time off, or doing a heroic, grinding for a crap title and tabard.......................Just IMO you shouldnt have to play like a zombie in the barrens for 9 hours a day.....not worth it... Loremaster Zombiequester isnt much to Zombiequester, Champion of the Frozen Wastes.......( Sorry for Excessive use of .......... ^^)

Currently inching closer to this achievement with about 20 quests left to do. The exact total appears to vary since my quest total sometimes changes when I log between characters, but still.

Some observations so far is that the Tier 0.5 quest chain counts in part, but certainly not all the way through. Simply put, if the particular step of the quest begins from Kalimdor, it counts there, but if not then it counts for EK. The Anthion quests in particular fall under this rule. As a consequence I am probably not going to finish the chain simply because a lot of the later steps start from inside Blackrock Mountain.

Gnomeregan isnt worth the trip for any reason other than rep, because although Rig Wars begins and ends in Orgrimmar, it didnt give me any quest credit towards the total for Kalimdor.

Hi All,

I have just completed the whole Loremaster series of achievements and deffinitely found that the Loremaster of Kalimdor was the hardest to gain ... obviously not because of skills but because of finding the whereabouts of every quest you need.

I lost around 50 quests or so when the new patch came out and I was pulling my hair out trying to find the remainder after it dropped me down to 618 / 685 ... to be honest I almost gave up.

I decided to put this achievement on hold and attempt the other ones instead and managed to complete the Eastern Kingdoms and Outland versions before this one.

As you may or may not know some quests in Eastern Kingdoms require you to travel to Kalimdor and some of those quests also count for Kalimdor.

Im not trying to teach anyone to suck eggs here as I know many people have posted up links to quests etc, but I would like to post up my experiance of this achievement.

Here are my tips :

1 ) I found that I needed to do 'EVERY' Quest , Drop and Escort mission in 'EVERY' zone in Kalimdor to accomplish this achievement.

2 ) I did grind rep with TimberMaw to gain 1 quest ( 2 if your tailor ) but looking back now it wasnt really needed ... the first time you hand any repeatable quest in counts ... after that in most cases it changes to a blue exclamaition mark ... this is when it doesnt count.

3 ) I also did Every quest for the following instances :

RFC , RFK, RFD, WC, ZF, Mara, BFD and about 6 or so in Dire Maul ... by the way those old books such as Codex Defence ... mine counted ... im guessing yours would too.

4 ) I completed all the cloth turn in quests for each faction and even accomplished the Ambassador achievement.

5 ) I found a lil goblin guy called Piznik or something like that in a cave in Stonetalon mountains, he needs a bodyguard whilst he mines away ... quite hard to find if you dont go looking for him.

6 ) I didnt do either AQ instance but I did do the 'attunement' quests.

7 ) WowHead will be your friend throughout the Loremaster series ... learn to use it XD.

8 ) My final tip : Even if you go somewhere where wowhead has listed a quest and you can see the quest giver ... and he has no quest symbol ... and you have your 'Low Level Quest' tracker on ... still go and talk to the quest giver as they may require you to click through a convorsation in order to allow them to give you a quest. I was stuck for ages and had to resort to going back through every zone and doing just that ... talking to every quest giver ... I eventually found a few but most of all the quest Warlord's Command. I had to speak to the quest giver before I could take the quest ... and that ladies and gentlemen is what I needed to achieve Loremaster of Kalimdor ... theres quite alot of quests in the chain and most of it counts towards Kalimdor.

I couldnt finish the final part of that chain but during my trip to UBRS part of the dungeon set fell for me .. so I farmed the mats I needed in Silithus and handed them in to Mokvar in Orgrimmar.

I hope this has helped in some way and that I've not just rambled on.

What got me through the last 15-20 quests were the Onyxia attunement line that starts with the Warlord's Command, as mentioned above, the out-of-the-way orc, Margoz, in Durotar, who leads to about 4-5 (easy!) quests, and the Kolkar killing quests in the Barrens that start here, with Regthar Deathgate.

As a tip, it really helped me to use the wowhead zone maps, and then select (at the top, right below zone name) Show on Map > Quest Givers > Horde to find those well-hidden guys that I often skipped.

If you are ever in Darnassus (for lunar festival or whatever) surprisingly Dawnstrider Shaedlass offers up a simple Argent Dawn Quest line that is acceptable for Horde. It takes you to BFD to kill a boss, then back to Darnassus for turn in. Its a bit of a pain, but if you are stuck for the last two....
In addition, off the coast in Southern Tanaris there is a mermaid named Meridith swimming around; drops a quest "Love song for Narain".

Does anyone know for sure if the Caverns of Time dungeon quests count towards this achievement? Some say yes, some say no.
And wouldn't doing a quest in the Caverns mean that I have done this quest before? So if it counts it should have done so already? Arrrgh, I'm confused with this time travelling stuff :P

Just finished my Loremaster of Kalimdor which gave me the Loremaster title and colors, the last quests I did were the egg quests in Gadgetzan each counts for a quest the first time so glad I found those :D

Edit: bah I guess i jumped the gun as I was heading back to tanaris after collecting my second egg I posted this but when I got to the egg-omatic thing and gave it the egg it didnt count (I thought for every type of egg you turn in, it counted towards one) so only the first one you do counts D:

I finally got this as Horde last night. I also started this achievement only about a month ago (I think I started at around 420/685). I know the last 20 or so quests are by far the hardest part so I thought I'd share what pushed me over at least:

(Misc info)
- I only did AQ Scepter up to where I needed to kill Broodlord Lashlayer
- From Classic, I had done all of the Molten Core quests
- I'm not sure if Hyjal counts, but I had done zero Hyjal quests
- I did zero 0.5 quests

The last chunk (This is after I scoured that famous list of missed quests):
- Drop from Demons in Ashenvale (Attack Plans or something like that)
- Didn't realize that I didn't finish the Ashenvale hunting quests. The Qgiver has no, "!" over them
- Red Key drop that started a small chain in Shadow Hold (Felwood)
- Grinded Neutral with Timbermaw to do the Totem quest
- Reversed my rep with Magrams to open up more quests (This sucked)

I probably had 2 quests to spare with the Gelkis when all was said and done. This is not an easy achievement, but it's very satisfying. You know how hard it is to get that last point of maxing out a weapon skill? Think of it like that....except with quests (*shudder*).

Tip: When you are flying from place to place watch your minimap the whole time. I probably discovered 3-4 quests from just flying that I didn't know were there.

I just managed to get this achievement. Here are a few tips for the Horde digging for those last few quests.

Darnassus has a quest for the Horde. There is a Night Elf on the Craftsmans Terrace with the Argent Dawn. Since he is faction neutral he'll hand over the quest, which is for BFD and ends in BFD. Counts for Loremaster of Kalimdor. Also outside BFD there are Naga Priestesses who drop a Damp Note which also begins a quest.

The Rig Wars quest from Orgrimmar does not count towards Kalimdor, neither does the Harvester in the Barrens (The rare spawn in the field of giants).

Outside RFD there is a night elf hiding slightly to the right of where you the cave entrance tunnel thing begins for RFD. Tracking low level quests should make her easier to find.

Almost all of the Tier .5 upgrade quests count. My last quest was for the the legs, boots and shoulder upgrade. Hope you didn't throw any of that old stuff away. No idea how DK's will be able to do these though. Also make sure you wowhead the entire quest chain and make a list of items you need before you start. Most of them are crafted by professions or bought in certain areas, you can save a ton of time if you plan ahead.

Shimmering Flats has a ton of quests that have you running back and forth from EK to Kalimdor, but they still count towards Kalimdor.

Profession quests like cooking do not count.

E'ko quests do not count past the initial one.

For those who never did the Onyxia Attunement chain, the test of skulls that you receive from the black dragon in Dustwallow all count. Also the quest to meet the champion of the horde in desolace counts, but Drakk's Blood does not count.

Don't forget Tanaris. Steamwheelde port has quests that go to BRS that count.

I apologize for repeating some things that have been said earlier but I hope this helps. My final advice, leave the quest tracker on in game at all times to find those hidden escort ones and when you do get a quest, check out the chain so you can buy what you need and save time. Personally its been one of the most challenging things I have put myself through. Another small bit of advice would be to do Eastern Kingdoms first, some quests might chain from EK to Kalimdor and then count towards Kalimdor. That could save alot of searching and backtracking.

Use the search function on wowhead - including the filter option "Starts a quest" (you can find this option in the filter menu Miscellanious) and as a second filter for example "Drops in..." and choose a zone in Kalimdor.
There are multiple dropquests that count towards the loremaster.

PS: Salve quests do count, but only the first time you turn them in. So gatherers are really lucky, it's a free quest. :)

Certain-not sure which quests exactly-on Isle of Quel'Danas count towards this achievement, at least 5 because I was at 665 when I started and ended at 670, completed all besides one which you have to go to SMValley for. Theyll only count once though since they turn into dailies and im not sure if the quest for Heroic:Magisters Terrace counts but im guessing it does.

I know it was mentioned here but don't neglect uldaman, it's worth more than just 2 quests for your count, i think it was 6 or 7 total, really helped me at the end. another spot is in dustwallow. the grave at witch hill has 2 quests, so after you drop off the first one make sure you go back because there's a questline after it worth 5 quests. i'm at 677/685 atm and just dropping off my last quests now :)

I struggled with this achievement until I found the quest chain that starts with the discs in Uldaman...

This was a godsend since I had scoured the whole continent for anything. I was one who had done the saving Undercity event which caused Varimathras to disappear.

Easily the most frustration and time consumable achievement I've done so far. But I ended on getting Don Carlos's hat, and that made it so nice.

Tips:

Warlord's Command - https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=4903#comments : This starts a chain that that ends up being good for about 10 quests.

Mokvar - https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/npc=16012 : Bring 15 Silithus Venom Samples ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=22381 ) and the bracers from your class's Dungeon 1 set to Mokvar. This will begin a long and pricey ride that will get you way more than 15 quests. I had to stop at Anthion's Parting Words ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=9021 )...I was going to go insane farming those set pieces.

Don't forget Caverns of Time! Old Hillsbrad ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/zone=2367 ) and Black Morass ( https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/zone=2366#quests ) are good for 8 or so.

...and of course this quest https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=12513

From what I've noticed, it seems like it's entirely up to which continent seems to hold the majority of that questline's story. For example, the quest where you go from Apothecary Zamah in TB to Apothecary Lydon in Hillsbrad counts as Kalimdor the entire time, even the quest that's entirely contained in Hillsbrad.

Then you have things that are just inexplicable like the Fallen Hero of the Horde questline.

Another quest I just found is in Moonglade. It wont show on your minimap with the quest tracker due to the fact that you have to speak to the guy and go through a couple pages of text. Afterwards he will provide you with a quest that leads to Silithus.

I collected a lot of useful information from the comments here and other sites and pretty much cleared up all the solo-able quests there is to do. I completed this achievement without having to do any raid chains or T0.5 hand-ins. Here's a summary of my scavenging.

- The Molten Core chain has been removed with 3.0.8 so that cut the number of possible quests by another few. If you had never done or started this chain pre-3.0.8 like me, we can QQ together about the extra work it gives us. Still, don't forget to visit the Hydraxian Waterlords for the 1 quest that is still there.

The Barrens: 4 mobs around Camp Taurajo, Alliance patrol in the Barrens, The Tear of the Moons
Ashenvale: 3 mobs that drop quest items (see other comments)
Azshara: A tauren by Alliance FP, and there is a guy in the middle of nowhere. Also note: mage class quests do not count.
Dire Maul: If you haven't quested in here before, there are about 10 quests. First time you make an Ogre Suit counts, the Trap quest does not count. There are also a few quests given by ogres after a Tribute Run through DM North, so don't kill the mobs who will offer quests. Remember to also grab this quest from Moonglade, the NPC does not have a ! on his head and won't offer the quest until you have a little chat with him. Class quests in DM that start from books also do count. The books are random drops and not BOP.
Tanaris: Screecher Spirit starts in Steamwheedle Port and the few quests in the middle only count towards EK, also requires a LBRS run, but the last 2 quests of the chain are also Kalimdor.
Silithus: Half the quests in Silithus do not count, repeatable quests do not count, cooking quests do not count. But among the ones that do count are the Abyssal Crest related ones Dukes of the Council and A Humble Offering.
Thousand Needles: escort from Highperch and a centaur riding in circles
Felwood: In Jaedenar, check your keyring!, slime related quests originating from Undercity do not count.

Random objects that start quests:
The Hinterlands: Venom bottle starts a chain that leads to a quest going into ZF.
Ungoro: It's a Secret to Everybody, nice long chain
Desolace: 1 quest along the shores
Feralas: Gordunni Scroll
Dustwallow: shady rest inn chain, really nice long chain, follow the instructions in the comments there or you may miss a step like I did. (This gave me the last 8 quests I was missing.)
The Barrens: Chen's Empty Keg, only the first 2 count.

Stuff you don't want to touch until you really have to:
Onyxia: starts with Warlord's Command and will require multiple runs into LBRS and UBRS
Tier 0.5: starts in Org and with some luck, you may find the BOE blue on AH.
AQ Scepter: starts in Silithus, and immediately you will need to run BWL. If nothing else, by the time you finish this chain, you will definitely have your loremaster achievement...

I read most of the comments here and didn't see any answer as to why this would happen but there are times when I turn in a quest and I get credit towards the 3000 quest achievement but not towards kalimdor or eastern kingdom loremaster. I'm just curious about the reasoning behind this. It seems to happen when I get a quest on the opposite continent of where I would turn it in at. However, I didn't get credit for the Patrick Garret quest for uldaman that you get in uc. any hints?

Finally finished this today. Thanks to everyone who posted helpful information!

I missed the Tauren questgiver in Un'goro Crater. I don't know if this will help you, but I remembered him after spending one frustrating day getting from 8 quests down to 5. Then I remembered I hated going to this guy when I was leveling because he seemed so far out of my way. Foiund some quests left on him and was tickled pink!

Seriously People help me out with this, ive done 665 / 685 i cant find a single more Quests im having to now start in AQ is that right ? im actully struggling so much ive been every flight path and spot there are people in kalimdor i have nothing to get ? any help pleas " horde "

Make sure to do DireMaul North side. Do a Tribute Run for the most part- mainly, make sure not to kill Stomper Kreeg or Captain Kromcrush

Unless you have a rogue or someone who can blow the locks on the doors you will need to kill Guard Mol'dar to get his key, you will need to grab the key out of Guard Fengus' chest- but you can avoid him entirely.

Stomper Kreeg and Captain Kromcrush both have quests that you have to talk to them after you have become the King of the Gordok- they will not show up on your screen- you must have a conversation with them first.

Also make sure to bring 1 Frost Oil, 1 Thorium Widget for A Broken Trap and 4 bolts of Runecloth, 8 Rugged Leather and 2 Rune thread for The Gordok Ogre Suit The Ogre Tannin is in the instance.

Four fairly easy quests that count for Kalimdor! (The Broken Trap and Ogre Suit only count the first time)

Alleluia! Finally got it!

I could not find any more in Kalimdor.

Luckily, I had not done the platinum disks and I also found a nice little untapped quest in the Badlands that I guess I had never finished: Indurium.

I also ended up doing the centaur quest in Desolace in reverse (went over to the other faction. That was painful but worth a good 5 quests.

Also, the D2 quest was huge help, starting with 'An Earnest Proposition'

I just completed this, nicely getting the last 4/685 quests from 'buying' the 'The Scale of the Sands' rings from Soridormi in the Caverns of Time. I'd forgotten I'd somehow obtained Exalted with them (probably pre-3.0 in MH) and that I'd then also completed the Vials of Eternity quest *or* Blizzard made that no longer necessary for these ring quests.

So, if you've done the Vials (easy enough in 3.x) and have the rep, don't forget these 4 quests!

For many of the drop item quests or "activation" quests (using a key to open a chest that only holds a quest item) you can ask the a GM if you have completed the quest in question. I used this to confirm which Homing Beacon quests I had finished.

They will tell if you have already completed a quest. If you haven't they'll probably just say "I cannot blah blah blah...". Basically, they are allowed to tell you what you have already done. I specifically asked about this, and the GM confirmed that they can tell you that sort of info. Very useful if you know you are going to be on long enough to wiat for the GM to reply to the ticket, and don't want to kill mobs for hours when you may have already got the item and completed the quest.

I searched, and I couldn't find any npcs by that name. The only Marvin seems to be in Sholazar Basin.

I'm currently 673/685 for Kalimdor. I've swept through all of the zones, and the only quests I have left are the AQ chain. I have An Earnest Proposition in my log, but the shadowcraft bracers aren't dropping. I did a few quests in EK that sent me to Kalimdor and gave me credit, and I'm looking at starting the Onyxia chain, as that seems to have a few Kalimdor quests.
I've even done the horde cloth quests as suggested.

A great add-on for this achievement is Carbonite. Basically what it does is gives you a checklist of every quest you can start in a zone. When you do a quest it marks it off the list. It lists all hard to find escorts, rare drops, and out of place quest givers. The only downside is after you download it, you have to mark off the quests your have already completed because it can't track quests before it is installed. Still a great way to go through a zone and see if you missed any quests.

Done, as of last night!

I did NOT do: The Warlord's Command quest chain; any 0.5 quest chains; and any AQ quests beyond the initial quest What Tomorrow Brings.

I DID do: The Timbermaw Exalted quests, Onyxia's Head quests, the Feralas and Tanaris chicken escorts, and the Fallen Hero of the Horde questline and both sides of the Desolace centaur quests.

Something I didn't see mentioned is that even though Rig Wars does not count for Kalimdor, the drop Grime-Encrusted Ring from inside Gnomer eventually leads to Nogg's Ring Redo which DOES count.

Don't forget about Chasing A-Me 01 -- I had stopped the quest chain before the step of taking a Mithril Casing to the back of the cave, and the quest is too far back in the cave for the ! to appear if you just ride by.

My final two quests were Indurium and the followup from the Badlands (they count for Thousand Needles.)

The Uldaman questline that carried over back to Orgrimmar, TB, and Uldum in Tanaris helped pushed me over for the achievement.
Also don't forget about the cloth turn-ins! That's 12 quests (for TB, Org, and the Darkspears) for you there.

I am currently working this achievement. as I am very close to finishing (missing 12 quests) I am carefully watching each time I deliver a quest.
I was working on Tier 0.5 quest chain and completed gathering materials for The Instigator's Enchantment
I got invited to a Naxx 25 group and they put me in raid party. as we still lacked some people I went to deliver it. I delivered and the counting on Loremaster went up. I got then summoned to Naxx and the DAM COUNT WENT DOWN :(
I sent a ticket with all details, etc etc, just to receive that awfull "we are not aware blah blah blah..."
So be carefull when doing this achievement. apparently, some minor bugs are still around to make your life more difficult

I forget that I have abadonned the Black Shield questline. Now i'm 801 and the quest line is about 7 more quest.

Finally finished this today on my horde hunter. The last two quests that got me there were:

I also had found quite a lot of quests that I had neglected to complete in Dustwallow - probably got me 15 or so right at the home stretch.

I did do the initial 0.5 armor quests, but I did not switch factions for the magram/gelkis centaur in desolace, nor did I do the timbermaw exalted quest grind.

PROTIP: Wowhead is your best friend on this journey. As you hit every zone, make sure you go to that zone's Wowhead page and check not only that you've cleaned out every single quest giver you have access to, but also look for the "Starts" tab, which will list every item that drops in the zone that begins a quest. Every single quest counts, especially once you hit Kalimdor.

There is a quest you can start in UBRS- Upper Blackrock Spire. The Quest starts from Awbee. A blue dragon Whelp

You will find him, ''EXACTLY'' fron fo the gate which will open when you will defeat Warchief Rend Blackhand.
You cannot track the quest, as you must speak with him and after some reading, then the quest mark will appear. When accepting the Quest, it will take you to Whinsterspring. The quest chain is on 4 parts, the 2 first will be completet in Kalimdor/Whinterspring, and the last 2, Eastern Kingdom/Western Plaguelands.

Another quest which can be hard to find or remember is '' https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/quest=6482
You will find it in Ashenvale - Thistlefur Village inside the cave, very deep. The Npc will be in a cage, start it and escort him out and complete it in Splintertree post.

Loremaster of Kalimdor was probably the toughest to get of all the Loremaster achievements with Eastern Kingdoms and Icecrown close behind. So, you've got this huge area to cover and, if you've made it to the last 100, you've done all the quests (except Raid quests) from any of the major quest points. Here is a list of what I did for my last 80 quests or so. Note that the EveryQuest add-on was a great help, even though you have to remember what you did before.

- Chen's Empty Keg - 44,62 Barrens
- Owatentka 44, 42 Barrens
- Gerenzo's Orders - Stonetalon
- Lakota'mawi - 46,49 Barrens
- Washte Pawne - 47,79 Barrens
- The Harvester 44,72 Barrens (rare - looks like a spider)
- The Runed Scroll (4 elite NEs wandering S. Barrens 47,64), which leads to another quest

Im in the middle of my achiv atm 599/685 still havent started my .5 quest, done all the regions ( excluding quests that drop from mobs) but so far none of the quests in silverpine are going towards Kalimdor. Still doing some doungeon quests to so...done the ony head turn in both 60 and 80, done aq 20 head turn in.

Any reason why silverpine isent working or did i read somting wrong?

Please use the Wowhead Completition tracker. It tracks every quest in every zone and also indicates which quests are incomplete in specific zones.

Also use Carbonite. It makes our life easier, however this is still incredibly long to accomplish.

How big is the buffer for this achievement? How many quests you can skip in Kalimdor and still get it?

More specifically, did anyone succeeded to get this achievement without finding the rare mob Silithid Harvester ?
I'm trying for the last 8 days to find it and its a real pain in the ass: I tried odd-hours, clearing all mobs around multiple times, camping for hours - nothing. I would do any other quest to skip this one.

After completing the Loremaster achievements for Outland and Eastern Kingdoms (and being 2 zones away from the one for Northrend ), I am 6 quests away from completing the Kalimdor Loremaster achievement. You would think that Blizzard would caption this series as "What a long and strange trip this has been" and include a proto drake reward. This is definitely a long, insane journey and I'm glad that it's finally coming to an end.

For those of you who are working on the Loremaster achievements my best advice is to consider the comments from others above but mostly to use this site's maps. This is how I was able to find what quests I'm missing (since QuestTracker will not show all the quests you've done unless you were using it from the beginning).

For Kalimdor, open the map links at https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/zones=1
Select a zone
Use the "show on map" drop-down (upper, left of map) which will reveal the quests for each zone

To note, each of the quest points is a hyperlinked to it's quest details. In addition, the "Starts quest" tab will give you a list of quest items that drop off mobs for that particular zone (i.e., "this item begins a quest").

A very important thing to remember is that when looking up quest details on this site, you should always check out the 'Comments' tab--search on Loremaster which will help to easily find the post you're looking for. I found this a HUGE help in that when someone submits a post saying that a quest does NOT count for the Loremaster achievement, believe it!

Had it not been for this page, user's comments, and the maps, I'd still be 50+ quests away from completing the Kalimdor Loremaster achievement. I want to thank www.wowhead.com/wotlk as well as everyone who posted comments on this page and throughout the site!

I just finished this now. It took me about 3 weeks of dedicated time to this.
I didn't completed any of the AQ gate opening quests and I didn't started working on the Eastern Kingdoms one yet.

There was 5 loremaster quests left in Silithus after I finished (2xscepters +3 x AQ20 pieces parts).

My guess is, there are at least 40 quests buffer for this. Don't waste time with annoying quests until you are really close to 685.

The option in Carbonite to show all quest givers, even for those very low level (not on by default) really helped identify even quest givers which only give you a quest as part of a chain, not immediately.

I definitely underestimated the effort needed for Loremaster. It definitely takes many months. This makes me think even higher of those wearing the Loremaster title.

I was stuck at 681/685 so I went and killed as many Gelkis Clan Centaurs (with whom I was friendly and had already completed their quest chain) as it took to flip my rep upside down and make this chain available. It took me about an hour at lvl 80.

Then the Magram Alliance quest (for Magram Clan Centaurs) and it's subsequent chain become available which put me well over the amount of quests needed.

Since there are no rep rewards with either faction besides quest rewards, this is a valid option if you find yourself desperate for those last few Loremaster or 3000 Quests Completed numbers.

Don't give up hope, budding Loremasters! I finally got my title and tabard this afternoon. I will admit the last 140ish quests in Kalimdor are somewhat irritating, all over the place and generally a nuisance.

Information which helped me:

- The rare spawns in the Southern Barrens
- The random Alliance NPCs patrolling the Barrens
- Odd quests in Dire Maul North and East
- Half of the quests which show up in the EveryQuest add on for Tanaris are Scepter of the Shifting Sands related
- Most, if not all, dungeon quests count (BFD/RFK/RFD/ZF/Mara FTW!)
- You can swap centaur support in Desolace
- The Tauren flightmaster at the entrance to Azshara
- Baron Hydraxis has a sneaky quest
- Do all the Runecloth hand ins

That's all I can think of for now. Good luck. For the Horde!

WoWhead Looter, after you upload the information you've collected, and made a profile for your character under your account, will actually show all the quests you've completed in each zone, and what quests you've missed. It is very, VERY useful.

I completed my Loremasters today, with the venomhide raptor trainer in un'goro giving the last 2 quests for my achievement.

On thing, for a horde player, Kalimdor is the hardest it seems. You really are scrapping the bottom of the barrel to find quests here.

Remember, make sure you find all none listed drop type quests (such items given by mobs that start a quest) like the rare animal in the barrens, or quests started in eastern kingdoms that start chains that lead to kalimdor, even if some quests are based on eastern kingdoms, it can lead to getting kalimdor ones too.

I finished my Kalimdor loremaster before I did this so this is unconfirmed, but the portion of the Freya questline from Sholazar Basin that takes you back to Kalimdor briefly had at least one quest completion that did not count for Sholazar Basin - my assumption therefore is that it counts for Kalimdor. (It may be one of the ones that doesn't count for anywhere, but in case someone was in a position to try it and confirm / refute I wanted to mention it.)

All you really need to do to get it is this:

Complete EK first, some chains there lead to Kalimdor.
Go through each zone using the show-horde-questgivers function.
Go through each zone using the 'Starts quest' tab

If you have Questhelper, putting in the command /qh incomplete you will see a load of blue markers on your map; these tell you where you have quests yet to be done. This has been a real boon to me so far in Northrend and Outland and 127 quests to go til this one is done.

It does show class and race-specific quests as well so beware of them.

I got the achievement today and i must say ... very glad i'm done!
The last quest that did it for me was a turn in you pick up from 'Sorn Proudmane' in Dalaran at Sunreaver's sanctuary.

As far as I've noticed, no quest that requires you to go into a dungeon, kill a certain mob or collect certain items, count towards either of the quest achievements. When I was attempting to get To Hellfire and Back, I did some of the Hellfire Citadel quests (the ones that require you to go into Blood Furnace, etc). When I turned them in, none of them counted towards that achievement.

EDIT: it seems old world dungeon quests do count for the kalimdor and eastern kingdoms achievements.

Note that there are Quests counting towards this Achievement that cannot be obtained after completing another Quest.
This is, in my opinion, a fatal design flaw.

For Example, turning in Wild Guardians (Part 3) stops the Item Blue-feathered Necklace from dropping off those Owlbeasts.
That would be 2 Quests wasted, just because the Item didn't drop for 10 kills.

I contacted a Gamemaster and asked for a solution, I have yet to get an answer.
I'll edit this post if getting the Item / resetting the Quest is possible.

The Gamemaster replied, that resetting Quests is not possible. However, he stated that the Quest-Item should still drop, even after completing the whole Quest chain.
Another comment related to this quest chain stated the exact opposite - sourcing a Gamemasters statement.

I guess "my" GM is wrong.

I just finished this, here's what I learned:

1. This was way harder than Eastern Kingdoms. You're going to be scraping for every quest for which you are eligible. Don't think you're going to be skipping any quests. Which leads us to...

2. Run, do not walk, to download the latest version of Everyquest. It can now read all your completed quests from your player database. If you filter out completed quests, Everyquest will show you what you have left in each zone. This addon saved me a lot of time.

3. Many dungeon quests now count for the Loremaster achievements. The old rule for skipping quests that are listed as a dungeon no longer applies. My experience has been that they count often enough, or lead to other Loremaster quests, to make it worthwhile to do them all. Besides, you know you are going for the 3,000 quest achievement too, so you might as well get 'em done.

I didn't come across this anywhere in the comments, but I can confirm that the quest An Injured Colleague that starts from a Tauren in Dalaran and finishes in Thunderbluff DOES count towards Loremaster of Kalimdor.

It's only a single quest, but for those like me who are close to the achievement, every quest helps.

This right here is the best advice I can add to the discussion. I started working on this portion of the achievement three weeks ago by running through the starter zones and working my way up, but ran out of quests with over 200 to go. I grabbed this addon and the Loremaster addon which works together to mark which quests count and which don't.

Do this and save yourself tons of time getting the quests done!

I did Loremaster for Eastern Kingdoms, then Loremaster for Kalimdor beginning as a lvl 1 mage. I achieved Ambassador about lvl 45. I finished at lvl 66. I have done no Outlands quests. I did the Mauradon and Sunken Temple dungeons (and all low level dungeons).
I recommend Everyquest and Loremaster addons. Funs stuff to see so many quests lines after playing for 5 years.

Killing the last boss in Uldaman unlocks a series of 6 followups that all count for Loremaster of Kalimdor:

The Platinum Discs (voucher one)
Portents of Uldum
Seeing What Happens
The Stone Watcher
Return to Thunder Bluff
A Future Task

The quest chain that ends with Report Back to Fizzlebub and starts with The Rumormonger and Zanzil's Secret has a few quests that give credit also. You may have to pick up where you left off in Booty Bay if you didn't know.
