This is kinda the final nail in the coffin for Engineering in TBC though. Before this shell were found, the "best" shot you could realistically get in bigger numbers was the crafted Adamantite shot. With this relatively easy to get in very good numbers, there is little~nothing left in Engineering which can stack up to the versatility or usefulness the other tradeskills offer.

Sad... although a nice 50DPS shot :)

explain to me how this is easy to get when nobody in all of WoW can get them right now. you need rep w/ the hardest faction to gain rep with atm.

To obtain these, it is rumored the you need to start raiding Mount Hyjal. So to obtain these you must finish Karazhan, Serpentshrine cavern, Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon and Tempest Keep.

Right now (2 months and a half after BC release), no one has entered Hyjal yet.

Easy to get?, not really.

I'd doubt it'll happen, but I'd love to see some quests turn up for Scale in a patch soon. I don't want to have to wait about a year (for me, at least) to get to these shells. Though, it does give me a goal.

As a side note, these will cost the same as the HH ammo once you get them: 50s a stack.

Let's also not forget that the higher the damage each of your shots does, the less shots you need to kill a mob. So the cost difference isn't a flat '200 of these compared to 200 of whatever other ammo'... it's '200 of these compared to however many other bullets I would use to do the same amount of damage'. It may not make much difference, but it does make one.

Personally, if I was a Hyjal hunter I would be using these all the time. 2g is not a huge price (before even factoring in rep discounts), and money is a piece of cake to farm these days - *especially* if you are a T5/T6 geared hunter.

A more important issue i'm thinking of for Hunter is are the any decent guns for Hunters for Hyjal and beyond?

I think not, if memory serves me the best Hunter gun drops from Al'ar. So these bullets could be considered pointless.

Do correct me if i'm wrong though.

these are nice DPS, and maby for a hard boss i would use a stack, but otherwise you won't see a huge DPS difference using these or one of the lower level shots. If you are a hardcore raider and think you need these to be sufficient, then maby convince your guild to pick up the cost

imo the costs are not so high, back in the days before TBC, a stack fo thorium arrows used to cost 50s-1g, depending on your server, and people paid the price. After TBC the value of 1g is lower than before, so 2g now is similar to what 50s-1g was pre TBC.

Suck it up and pimp yourself for the raid, atleast on bosses :)

To get these, you must complete the attunement quest for Mount Hyjal, which will get you to friendly, then do a couple of runs through Mount Hyjal to get Honored.

yeah to the guy who posted above "you just need to get attuned for mount hyjal and then run it a few times to get honored" you make it sound way easier than it is. FIRST on most servers theirs only 5 or so guilds that run mount hyjal, if that many. SECOND probably only 1 or 2 can kill archimonde and complete the raid.

with trash giving rep now its easier to hit honored and buy these bullets and arrows if your attuned and if your farming and pvping I would suggest using cheaper bullets and arrows but for 25 man raid if you can use these then you really should be
