This zone really is Hell:

First, adding a zone that has double penalties for dying was a bad move. Losing Stygia and durability makes no sense.
Second, putting a world boss behind half a zone of elites that are impossibly clustered together, and not allowing a player to ghost to their corpse is also a stupid move.
Third, there is no flying in this zone.
Fourth, punishing players for questing in the zone as they start is outrageous. The more things you do in the zone, the worse the penalties.

The devs that worked on this zone either intentionally worked out a way of simulating the player base's worst nightmare of a zone, or they just planned this horribly and it plays out well with its theme.

I have already wasted an hour trying to find a way to get there.
Absolutely nothing.
A post like that should start like......go there and that's how you enter the Maw.

I'm in the minority here.

It's no place for the foolhardy. I actually rather enjoy this zone but there again I used to enjoy Eastern Plaguelands a lot too. Very challenging to start with but rewarding as you gear up and gain favour with Ve'Nari. I've lost quite a bit of Stygia not being able to recover my first death's bundle and then dying again.

Reminds me a lot of Told Barad during the Cata patch which was really tough.

I really i don't get the hate against this zone. I love it. This hell and it should be one of the worst zones. There are consequences being here. The Eye of the Jailer has it's eye on you. And the longer you're inside the Maw the worse this will be. I love this and it really gives a sense a danger and intimidation inside a zone. I've never felt this excitement in a zone before. I think Blizzard should really try this idea again later, but with improvements of course.

To get to the Maw for those who haven't completed the campaign and are already at level 70+:

Take the quest in Orgrimmar for the Horde or in Stormwind for the Alliance 暗影之境：冰寒的召集, talk to the NPC for the quest (納茲格寧姆 for the Horde, who is next to the one who gave the quest) and press skip
You will find yourself in Oribos and the quest 闖入陌生國度的陌生人 will be automatically offered, immediately run to 監督者卡德倫, talk to her and press skip
Now you can jump to the center of Oribos on the top floor and get into the Maw
