YES. THIS IS THE PET I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED.
Hooray for everything.

This pet regens 4% of his HP when he deals damage during a turn. Very nice passive.

I should point out that this little bastard here is ridiculously tanky. I don't know if all humanoids have the 4% buff, but that coupled with sandstorm =
never ever die.
At level four this guy hardly broke a sweat killing a level 6 and 7 rabbit and infected squirrel (respectively) completely on his own.

This is actually a really good pet against some high-level trainers, most notably
『天選』雅姬
, who can be a real block to some players since she's the first trainer you find with legendary quality pets. The Idol can single-handedly dismantle every one of her pets.
1) The dragon. This is Aki's most dangerous pet. However, if you Reflect the first attack the dragon does (which is extremely hard-hitting), you'll gain a big edge. Then your basic Humanoid attack can just beat the dragon down.
2) The critter. This is probably the funniest part; if you cast Sandstorm, the Critter literally cannot hurt the Idol. It only has one attack, and Sandstorm reduces the damage down to zero. And being a humanoid, everytime you attack you get health back.
3) The aquatic. While the Idol doesn't really have anything special against this opponent, the opponent is pretty weak, so Idol ends up winning anyway. Still, you can use a Flyer to take this out and still have a 3rd slot open to help level any pet you want.

Reflection has now been changed to Deflection.
It has been switched from a second-slot, level 10 ability, to the third slot, level 20 ability. It now only makes every attack against it, the turn it is used, miss. It no longer reflects final attacks back at the caster. This depresses me so, so much.

My favorite battle pet so far, heals him self a lot and is resiliant. But missing the reflection spell he hade in the beggining, was pretty op with that. :)

魔法喇蛄
and
阿努比薩斯塑像
(Magical Crawdad and Anubisath Idol) have been making a terrifying combo in pvp pet battles. In short, the combo involves using the Idol first and putting up Sandstorm to reduce damage taken. They then follow up with Demolish, which is less-effected by the Sandstorm since it hits less often but harder. Finally, when the Idol hits around half health or so, they'll pull out the Magical Crawdad, put up Renewing Mists and Wish, then swap in the Idol again. This leads to a very uphill battle; while you can eventually out-damage the healing, the healing combined with Sandstorm is enough to prolong the Idol's life so much that you'll almost certainly be dead by the time you could get close to killing it. The third pet in the combo varies; it could be another Idol, or a pet that grips your pets to the front line, etc. This third pet will change the flavor of the fight, but the main combo is the Idol and the Crawdad.
I have found a combo which combats the Idol/Crawdad combo fairly well and still remains versatile enough for other pet battles. First, the pets involved are:
1) Scourged Whelpling (
天譴幼龍
), preferably the speed breed to be faster than the Idol, but either breed will probably work. Equip something for tier 1 (I prefer Tail Sweep, but either has its moments), Call Darkness in tier 2, and Plagued Blood in tier 3.
2) Gilnean Raven (
吉爾尼斯烏鴉
). You'll want the 325 speed breed if possible, but in terms of countering the combo, the speed won't matter. In tier 1 you can pick whichever, but particularly if you have the 325 speed breed you'll probably want Alpha Strike as you should be faster than anything on the board. In tier 2 you want Call Darkness, in tier 3 you want Nocturnal Strike.
3) The third pet is up to your preference. Pick it in such a way that it balances out your team against whatever you think is common. My only recommendations is that you probably don't want an aoe pet with this combo (doesn't seem to work well), and you probably don't want a healing pet as the healing debuff will be up at almost all times due to Call Darkness.
Now, how this combo works against the Idol Crawdad combo. You have to be very careful to match the opponent in a tit-for-tat fashion; you don't want to just lazily get into a slug-fest, as they'll probably win.
1) The enemy is going to have their Idol out early as it's the main thrust of their attack. They may start temporarily with their third bird and use a grip ability or something, but the goal is you want to get your Scourged Whelpling matching their Idol. Once they cast Sandstorm, over-write it with Call Darkness, and make sure it stays that way. Sandstorm gives their attack an edge in a pure slug-fest (due to high damage per hit but low hits per turn of Demolish). Darkness gives you an edge, as the miss chance reduces their average damage per turn more than yours (due to Demolish's high miss rate), and the healing debuff strongly nerfs the passive healing that the Humanoids get. Thus, it's very important that you wait for the Sandstorm and flip it back to Darkness on everytime they do it.
You're basically just going to Roiling Blood the enemy to death. This will counter-act their self-healing, giving you roughly the same self-healing they get, and because it's an Undead ability, it does decent damage (more than the tier 1 abilities).
2) One of the key points in the fight is that at some point the enemy is going to swap in their Magical Crawdad. The goal is that they're probably going to put up Renewing Mists, then Wish, then swap in the Idol This is the key point to break their strategy.
Once the enemy puts in the Crawdad, swap in your Raven. If Darkness isn't up (it probably will be though), make sure it's applied so that Wish fizzles to something weak. If Darkness if up, use Nocturnal Strike. Now, there's a few ways this could play out:
a) Most likely, the enemy will still attempt to apply Wish (this will usually be what's happening the turn you Nocturnal Strike). The Strike will immediately knock out half of the Crawdad's health, due to it being a hard-hitting ability its weak to. They might bring their Idol back in to take the heal, but it'll be nerfed hard. At this point, you need to make a judgement call. Your Raven is faster than the Idol, if you think you can knock out the Idol in a couple hits, just do it. If the Idol has a lot of health left, swap back in your Scourged Whelpling and repeat.
b) It's possible that the Crawdad will stay in and take the Wish after taking that massive hit. If it does, have your Raven smash it, it can kill the Crawdad in a few hits. It'll either kill it or force them to bring out the Idol, which did not receive a heal.
c) It's possible that the enemy will attempt to swap out the Crawdad the moment it sees the Raven out, knowing it's about to get hit hard; in that case, the Idol will get hit by the Nocturnal Strike, which will still take a large chunk of the Idol's health out. In this case, the Raven can probably finish it off in a few hits.
d) The enemy may bring out their third pet when they see the Raven to try and stall. In this case, you have to use your best judgement based on the pet, but try not to let your Raven or Scourged Whelp get TOO banged up. The enemy in this case will be trying to kill the Raven (most likely) so they can safely use their Crawdad again. Obviously don't let this happen.
From this point on, it should more or less be checkmate as you've broken the key point of the combo. The matchup will change based on the third pets each of you are using, and you still may have to play smart, but the advantage should be yours, and you should be able to win unless there's very bad RNG.
In terms of versatility of the combo, keep in mind that the Scourged Whelpling and Raven combined have access to the ability to nerf healing combos with double Darknesses, humanoid damage, flying damage, undead damage, dragon damage, and weak healing (through the Scourged Whelpling). This leaves you with versatility regardless of what team you fight; no hardcore combos, but options. Try to leave your Raven alive, even if it's at very low health. It's super high speed combined with Nocturnal Strike's high damage makes it a good sweeper, and it can often win the fight if it comes out at low health against 3 low-health enemies, as it will likely strike before each of them.
