Certainly my favorite race.

食屍 is the bread n butter of the solo/small group leveling experience, since bodies will be almost everywhere, and not always in the shape you would think. Everything from Yetis to banshees are good eats, not to mention everywhere in pvp. Certain classes have better synergy with cannibalize than others. Especially so with Warlocks, who spend health for mana, just to get that health back from eating up. Rogues, Warriors, and Death Knights get a quick heal during downtimes. Mages less so, since they can summon up free food and drink anyway, and priests can simply heal themselves quicker with their spells.

亡靈意志 is an amazing racial, obviously for pvp, and occasionally in pve where fear is prevalent, like in Forge of Souls against Bronjahm, or Halls of Reflection against Falric. Since it now shares a cooldown with other pvp trinkets, you could forgo equiping such a trinket in favor of another.

~~And Underwater Breathing is definitely an added bonus, giving you those extra minutes to linger under water during quests, or just exploring. (Not as useful to Warlocks, who have Unending Breath.)~~
Racial COMPLETELY reworked! 墓穴之觸 deals a bit of damage and heals you for the same amount. Rather unique among the 'dps' racials (ie, +expertise, +haste), this one is a straight-up addition to your dps, entirely quantifiable in your damage meters. For some classes, it might increase your dps by roughly 1-2%. However, the damage may be increases by certain class features. In fact, each of the Rogue specializations have passives that can see an increase in the damage: Combat's , Subtlety's , Assassination's . As for Masteries, Unholy DK's 精通：恐怖之刃, Survival Hunter's , Arcane Mage's , and Demo Lock's 精通：惡魔學識大師 come to mind. There's likely many more synergies. I know it may seem like a rather small amount of damage, but compared to the rest, it truly is a major dps racial, a racial to be proud of, giving us all the more reason to stay Undead.

Wrong descripiton. The forsaken regained their minds after Illidan's attack on the frozen throne. Not because of the horde or the alliance.

Male dance: Metalhead; headbangs, plays air guitar, and jumps around. This may be a reference to Lord Raptor from Darkstalkers.
Female dance: The "weeping willow" / Liquid dancing

Ok I love forsaken, I also love hunters.

But don't you agree that the racials are not really that good for that class/race combo? Well racial, to be honest only WotF is usable for a hunter (and only to some extent, if you're beast mastery specced you usually kill during bestial wrath), the other 3 are meh.
Orc, trolls and goblins have superior racials for hunters imo.

Old Undead intro (Pre-Cataclysm):
Bound to the iron will of the tyrant Lich King, the vast undead armies of the scourge seek to eradicate all life on Azeroth. Led by the banshee Sylvanas Windrunner, a group of renegades broke away from the scourge and freed themselves of the Lich King's domination. Known by some as the Forsaken, this group fights a constant battle, not only to retain its freedom from the scourge, but also to slaughter those who would hunt them as monsters. With Sylvanas as their banshee queen, the Forsaken have built a dark stronghold beneath the ruins of Lordaeron's former capital city. This hidden "undercity" forms a sprawling labyrinth that stretches beneath the haunted woods of the Tirisfal Glades. Though the very land is cursed, the zealous humans of the Scarlet Crusade still cling to their scattered holdings, obsessed with eradicated the undead and retaking their homeland. Convinced that the primitive races of the Horde had helped them achieve victory over their enemies, the Forsaken have entered an alliance of convenience. Harboring no true loyalty for their new allies, they will go to any lengths to ensure their dark plans come to fruition. As one of Forsaken, you must massacre any who pose a threat to the new order, human, undead, or otherwise.

New Undead intro:
Though Lady Sylvanas and her forsaken finally took vengeance of upon their hated enemy, the Lich King, their dark crusade in Northrend proved costly. Betrayed by Grand Apothecary Putress at the battle of Wrathgate, the Forsaken's devious plague of death was unleashed both the Alliance and the Horde to calamitous affect. Unbeknowst to Sylvanas, Putress and his demonic ally, Varimathras, has taken control of the Undercity. As a result, the Forsaken were wrongly blamed for the traitor's atrocities. Though the Undercity was eventually retaken, Sylvanas and her followers still bear the weight of Putress' sins. Mistrusted by the other members of the horde, the Forsaken must now prove their loyalty to the cause and redeem themselves from their supposed treachery. To this end, Sylvanas has bolstered her defenses within the Tirisfal Glades and readied her undead forces for any contingency. As one of the Forsaken, you must use your cunning and viciousness to slay any who would pose a threat to Sylvanas' rule, be they Human or Undead or otherwise.

if you do the quest chain in silverpine now you get the story as to what happened to her if you never played warcraft 3 in a ride to the sulpulcher the whole new starting area for that region is awesome

This is my opinion, but the best classes for the Undead/Forsaken (even though you guys may not care) are:

Warlocks: constantly juggle health and mana frequently.
Death Knights (especially Frost): Good DPS, little for health generation. *NEED*
Priests/Mages: Alternative for refreshments.
(may need this confirmed for P. 5.0.4/MoP)

I'm getting a little annoyed about the constant references to the 'undead scourge' as it's clearly an inflammatory and derogatory label, hence I propose 'undead liberators'

So what if we're flesh eating reeking abominations and former slaves of the Lich King? It takes all sorts to make a well balanced and complimentary society.

If we're willing to forego commenting on every other races need for air, food, sleep and a pension then you can please ignore the bits of us that fall off, the fact we're technically dead and our barely restrained need to slaughter everything living we come across.

Besides, nearly everything dies, soon there will be more Forsaken than any other race...you'd better get used to us.

I have been having a lengthy discussion regarding whether the Forsaken are or are not zombies.

In my opinion zombies are mindless controlled creatures - neither of which fit the undead race.

Any thoughts ?

The Undead are a pretty nice race, with a pretty good starting area. I do, however, suggest going to Eversong Woods at level 7.

The Forsaken is my favorite race on W.O.W of all time. Ever since I saw Lament of the Highborne I am such a Sylvanas fan. But I will forever hate Garrosh & That Goblin Leader (Forgot his name). Beware the Living!

I am confused about something.. I have done a little research and can't find anything. I'm going to roleplay as a Forsaken but can't figure out how they come to Tirisfal starting area, how they become undead in the first place, etc. I want her to be a rather new addition instead of the ones that became Forsaken because of the Lich King... Or is that not canon? A little help here, please? I really want to roleplay one but I don't want to do it without knowing the background or else I'll make a fool out of myself.

I'm still upset with the WoD character redesign... They drastically changed how armor appears on female undead. The shoulder pads are too far apart from the neck. Everything looked normal before the "upgrade", but now armor looks ridiculous.
