The base capture rate is definitely linked with enemy pokemon health. However, I'm currently very sure - but not absolutely positive - that the base rate isn't better (if it is it's not noticeable) than the previous trap, the Strong Trap.

Honestly, this reward was a bit of a disappointment when I first started using it.

In short, don't count on this to make captures too much easier. The only thing that will do that, unfortunately, is the only pokemon in the game with False Swipe: Terrible Turnip.

Turnip + Regular Trap > Pristine Trap

In my opinion a really stupid reward.

If you have 30 pets at level 25, you most likely haven't got that many pets left to catch (at least not if you like me capture the pets of a zone and then move on).

Should've been awarded for 200/300 caught pets instead.

Can someone that already has this trap post the maximum tries needed to capture a pet with it? Considering that with the previous Stron Trap (+25% chance every try) it took maximum 6 tries what would it take with this one?

Does this item go straight into your bags? I just got the achievement but no trap...

Also, does it disappear after one use or does it have a CD? Thanks!

If you already have the Draenic Trap and you unlock this one, and probably any other trap, it will replace the Draenic Trap.

Edit: This fixed itself a couple weeks ago and i have just now figured out what fixed it. Leave Draenor and come back. The Draenic Trap is only usable on Draenor, leaving Draenor and then coming back will fix it.
