I just found him and tamed him!

NPC Name: The Evalcharr
NPC Number: 8660 (i added this number to my npcscan it did went off when the npc was at range)
Color: Green (best chimaera skin)
Level: 19
Zone: Azahara
Coords: 14,51 next to the river.

I'll upload the SS later, now i want to test the BM new 4.0.6 damage :P.

Servers just went live, so went around hunting for Olm, Zaricotyl and they weren't up yet, so flew straight to Azshara and he was there. Guessing server first. Eonar Eu. Same place as the others, by the north end of the river.

He is by the NW River indeed. It took me about 20 mins of searching helplessly. (THE RIVER CONNECTING Azshara to Ashenvale) im happy with my Venomous Chimera XD

I started looking for him yesterday, no luck. Is it 32-48 hours from when someone captures/kills him or does he respawn when the server reloads?

I just tamed The Evalcharr Yesterday. I have been waiting for the beast to respawn for 5 days. I found him in a different location not shown on the map.

You sure this green mob isn't a myth? I remember seeing him back when he was the common blue color but ever since he turned green I've had no sign of him, dying to tame this beauty, does anyone no of other spawn points other than what's shown? And does he really have the longest re-spawn timer than any other tameable mob in game atm?

UNBELIEVABLE!

I have random looked for this pet on and off, and on my way to Wintersprings for some thorium farming I stopped by to look for him...and there he was!

I flew down and started to drop my frost trap (not that it was really even needed just habit) and I forgot to change my action bar in my excitement......and freaking killed him with a single auto shot!

I have been looking for this guy off and on in a casual way for a while. Today was my lucky day. I tamed him just a few minutes ago. @ 5 PM server time. Ice trap is useless because of his ranged attack.

I love his green color. I don't like the faces of the Outland green ones.

These creatures are superb pets. The big wings are a little annoying in town and in close quarters, but other than that they are terrific.

Tried flying around here for hours and never saw him. Casually flew by one day and saw him in 5 seconds. Seems that way with the spirit beasts as well. Don't waste your time camping beasts, just check once or twice a day.

On a side note, he looks really cool and the froststorm breath is awesome. You can spam it in pvp and run around exposing stealthers.

I found this guy at his northern spawn location.. Tamed him at 10:59 Server Time.

I was actually flying through the area on my Death Knight and decided, "why not, I'll go look and see if he's there" but I wasn't feeling too hopeful. So you can imagine my reaction when I saw him! I logged off ASAP and jumped on my Hunter. Lucky for me, I logged out in Org so I was pretty close.. But I was worried I'd lose him to someone else before I made it there. But I didn't! I dismounted and tried to tame him and realized I wasn't in Beast Mastery spec, fml .. So I switched specs and tried again and Voilà ! He was mine! *satisfied Hunter*

Sigh... just came across him, then realized I was 1.5lvls too low to tame. Just left him there for the next hunter.

This is definitely not a pet you want to camp for, I just experienced a spawn timer that was about 30 hours long.

Best way to make this tame is to fly from Org (if you're horde) every now and then and check the southwest and northwest spawns. If you are alliance, you can use the new portal that brings you to Ratchet then fly to Azshara.

Good luck in taming this! Definitely a one of a kind pet. :)

Just spawned at his northern spawn point within 5 minutes of server restart :)! Hope this helps people looking for a more accurate spawn timer!

Tamed him on Kirin Tor Feb. 25th, 2015 at 7:45 PM server time. First time I have ever seen this creature after searching for almost 4 years. His pictures don't do him justice, he's a lovely chimera!

This one was a little harder to track down even with server hopping. I'm not sure how many other hunters are using the group finder and just joining any random Jones,Kura,enchanters study or server hop group but I would strongly advise it. I tamed her @ 2:14 server time on Emerald dream. She's Beautiful !

As people have said before, he appears right after a server reset. I had him snatched right from under me by a low level orc hunter... but I was able to join another server with the LFG system and there he was!

This is my favorite pet by far.

Tamed on Deathwing at 09:46 server time on 09/15/15 by Needleeye lvl 20 hunter, after 4 days of camping. He moves all over the map from the northern most coordinate to the south. Use your eagle eye to watch the area *Stand* on top of the hill.

Hey i found "The Evalcharr" beast spawn in the northern map location spawn point of Azshara had no problems with finding the beast after camping there for 2 days on and off, thanks for the help with the spawn timer, tamed on "The Venture Co server RPPVP" at 1:40pm GMT(UK), in game time was 2:40.

Another cool rare that stands out...and another spawn point in a high traffic area where he gets killed all the time (at least on my server it's a pretty high traffic area". Have to compete with hunters, sucks having to compete with people out questing too.

My favorite hunter pet by far. The unique skin is great, and the chimera is great for pvp and dungeons now that you can change specs on your pet (get glyph of lesser proportion if the wing span bothers you).

If you're camping this pet, make sure to find a spot away from the giant that stomps around or he might randomly assault you. Hide out by a nearby tree or shadowmeld if you have it.

I've gotten this pet for four of my hunter alts and it has spawned twice at the northern point and twice at the southern point, so it seems to be pretty even. So whatever side you decide to camp on, make sure you that periodically run over to the other side of the cliff/rock to see if it's spawned on that side, or you might be able to find a spot right in the middle that your hunter tracking can pick up both sides. Play around with it.

Very long timer. I lucked out twice though and it was already waiting for me when I stopped by. Another time I only waited 20 minutes or so. The last time was a solid 24 hours of logging on occasionally and killing time by doing battlegrounds.

as of today he is lvl 38 - my hunter is 36 :( then i entered a dungeon and dinged to 37 when i came out of the random evalcharr was lvl 39...each time I lvl up for the tame he is 1 1/2 lvls too high ...not sure how this is happening but just a heads up on this odd lvl thing

edited to add i am now lvl 40 and it keeps happening so i guess I have to be lvl 62 to tame him

update: he will always be a couple of lvls higher than your hunter until you hit 62

I wish I knew what I am missing. I want to tame him. I am at level 62, and so is he, but when I try to tame, it says "Creature is not tameable". My Beast Lore says he is, and my brain knows he is, but I feel stupid not knowing why I can't tame him. Perhaps it's a PC issue. I'll try the typical clean-up.

Nevermind, I just learned that you can't tame exotic creatures until level 65.

Tip for those looking for their first (or second) Evalcharr - I just tamed one, then went to Orgrimmar and switched to War Mode and came back and there he was!
