A huge green Hydra roaming around the coordinates showing in the map above. Swim for a few minutes around the area and you should see her swimming in shallow waters or standing still in a small island.

As a Rogue lvl 60 (Subtlety) I just soloed her at first attempt. She's not immune to poisons or blind or gauge or anything that would fustrate us. She hits very hard tho, so you want to avoid her attacks as much as possible. Oh yes, I had no buffs at all... It was a lonely morning...

I just went for instant poisons on both daggers so that I could gauge and blind with no interruptions. It was pretty simple, I just ambushed, and proceeded with the usual Gauge and Backstab deal. I used ghostly strike and evasion when my health was at around 2/3. By the time I'd die in 2 or 3 more hits, or a very nasty crit, I just blinded her and bandaged myself. She was almost down by then. Some more Gauge and Backstab after another ghostly strike for some more dodges, and she was down. I used a major health potion in the end when I had my health running low (as was hers). Turns out she died at the same time, But I just didn't want to take any chances. Have a potion with you. A crit or a couple dodges here make a big difference, since the hits are hard...
I had preparation in store just in case I wanted to use Evasion or Blind a second time, but I didn't need any since she was about to die. Would have used prep and repeat the whole strategy once more if it took me a lot longer to kill...

My gear is a mix of blues and epics. Cadaverous, Shadowcraft, Darkmantle, Zandalar's Madcap, Nightslayer, Bloodfang... I was wearing at least one piece of each of those. Weapons were: Qiraji Sacrificial Dagger and Core Hound Tooth, both with Crusader.

I'm supposing that a sword/stunlock rogue could do this just as easily.

Soloable as a 60 Human Mage with decent Hellfire Peninsula gear. I died the first time of shear ignorance.

Just remember to Ice Barrier to protect against the huge melees and pull out a pet for extra DPS and aggro management.

Would just like to add that this isn't very hard for a lvl 56 Warlock to do either. Only had to fear once. Kept Curse of weakness on her, dot, shadowbolt. Health funnel a lot to keep the Void up. Took a little time, but was a lot easier than I had expected.

Soloed as lvl 56 destruction warlock. Just keep it in fear, and use Void. I used 1 Healthstone and 1 Heavy Runecloth Bandage (Hetaera use a debuff (Infected Bite), what damage u 15 / 3s, so u have to keep distance) and use a lot of health funnel to keep the Void up.

Easy solo as 57 moonkin druid, no resist problems, entangling roots stuck every time, I didn't once. I used Force of Nature to open and Faerie Fire then just standard moonkin stuff, Starfire and Moonfire. I kept Nature's Grasp ready incase I was about to get hit. GL GO MOONKIN!

Soloed as 56 BM hunter. Four failed tries until I got a group together and other member was on her way, but accidentally pulled aggro when other hunter was en route and soloed it. All in all a very weird experience.

Soloed as 58lvl rogue with (21/0/28) cb/hemo specc. Was pretty hard tbh, had to use two evasions and cb's. Bandage+potion too. Crits for 800 and hits for 400. No special attacks.

Had Servant of Arkkoroc on the island with him, so made kiting a bit harder. Can be handled tho.

Possibly as of patch 2.3, Hetaera is still level 55, but no longer Elite and has about 3,950 HP. Huge difference!

Finding this mob was harder than killing the level 55 elite giants in the area. Made two or three full sweeps of the areas covered by dots before she spawned on a stone structure supported by a small island.

Be careful when looking for Hetaera as there are a lot of Sons and Servants of Arkkoroc around that area

No longer Elite.... Found at 59, 46 (Hataera's clutch) Real easy to find just swim in a circle replicating the spawn chart provided by wowhead.

A general tip to remember when looking for a hard-to-find creature if you have a minion, pet or something you can send to attack on it's own is to keep trying to target the thing, in this case:

/tar Hetaera

And the send your pet to attack it, and then just follow your pet. Don't let your pet kill it though! You won't get the drop unless you do at least some damage.

Hunter's should know that if you're Tracking Beasts she is not considered a beast, so do not rely on the minimap to pick her up.

Blizz nerfs everything these days... Soloed at lvl 49, DN warlock.

All the heads dropped at once, with a 70% drop chance its most likely to drop them all at once. If not, you're just unlucky.

Pretty easy to find actually, took me two minutes.

that 70% drop rate is correct, got 2 greys and no heads thought I did something wrong searched my inventory for quest item maybe ugh respawns suck.

To those with co-ordinates: Hetaera can typically be found @ 59,41 (it's a small island with a building on it) or nearby - either on shore or in the water. You are looking for a brightly colored green hydra.

To those without co-ordinates: Swim in a straight line west from the Temple of Arkkoran (@75,43), using the erect tower in the water as reference (the tower resembles male genitalia *cough*), continue east until you hit the small island mentioned above.

This entire chain is annoyingly time consuming. Bring water walking with you as you will be doing lots of back and forth from one end to the other and all around, and swimming is incredibly slow.
