Patch 4.0.3 - this NPC allows a warlock to abandon a pet for a fee (50g per pet per abandon) and get a new one, effectively changing your minion's name.

The naming is random (like it is when you first summon), so if you're unlucky you'll have to pay again until you're happy with the name(s) of your minion(s).

It doesn't matter which pet you already have summoned. When you choose to abandon one pet, the currently summoned pet is going to be dismissed (equivalent to you dismissing by hand), and the pet type you abandoned will be summoned (no summon animation, it happens instantly), already having the new name.

It also does not look like there is a limit to the times you can pay to abandon a pet.

This is available to a level 45 character. I do not know if there is a point at which it is not available. Logic would tell me it does not have a level limit.

Apparently he now has a quest, i was getting my skills when i saw a grayed ! over his head.

my troll lock is 53 and it still grayed out to me anyone know what quest he gives?

as of the siege of orgimmar him and all the other warlock related npcs have been lynched, ~~if the damages caused by the raid go into the over world warlocks will have to go to another city to have the talents redone~~ they seem to be fine despite being hung from a chain and set on fire during the raid.

As some non-Blizzard websites are still erroneously pointing to this NPC for your demon training needs, I figured a post nudging players to the new trainer wasn't entirely amiss, heh.

The new trainer is 莫古爾 and he's found wandering around outside the hut rather than standing static inside the hut as Kurgul was.

His name is MURGUL not KURGUL. I spent 10 minutes trying to target "Kurgul" in the cleft of shadow...

Well... after a friend of mine broke his finger trying to spam click the name change he asked me if i could fetch him a macro! So i did.
This macro below will let you just click it and automatically pay the 50g and do a name change without having to press all the dialogues.
Make sure you are in the right spec while using the macros otherwise it could choose a different demon.

Trainer name is now Murgul. Location is the same in the Cleft Shadow in Orgrimmar.
