Killed him without the quest.

He is gold elite, not silver... just dropped gold for me. No special debuff, no special anything in fact, aside from his quarky comments.

Tip for you guys, if you stand on the hill directly south of him, just outside his area you can dps him from ranged and he doesn't seem to respond at all... doesn't go immune either.

Respawn time is ridiculously short. In the time I wrote this he spawned again (due to him being a quest mob), can be killed with people outside of party and still looted by all members.

Like an event mob.

Perhaps it's just too obvious to comment, but one of the things he yells while you're in the area before you kill him, is "Ook 'em in the dooker!" If you pay the slightest attention to the context the other talking Hozen use the verb "ook" in (yes, it can mean "kill" or "beat the crap out of," but there's another verb it can mean that fits Dook's shout much better), and also realize what a "dooker" must be, it's a decidedly NON-family friendly command to his comrades. But hilarious.

For anyone who is curious, while on the quest 情勢, when you kill him you are granted 41000 reputation with 森林猴人. Note the faction gain happens when you kill Dook, not when you complete the quest.

As an experiment, I checked AT WAR and killed him again while still on the quest. No faction gain.

As another experiment, I dropped the quest before completing it, and immediately lost the faction already gained. I then re-acquired the quest and killed him again. The quest acted as before, I gained 41000 reputation.

Unfortunately, the Darkmoon Faire was not in town at the time, nor was it Thanksgiving, so I could not test if those reputation buffs affect this rep gain.
