One of three vendors to be unlocked by earning Marks once both the Shadow Warden and Druid of the Talon factions have been unlocked through doing the Molten Front dailies. Damek will supposedly, among other things, sell several new Plate pieces and the new Blacksmithing and Engineering crafting patterns.

Is it just me that sees the irony? The daily-unlocked vendor sells recipes for 365 gear.

I noticed this fella is from the Thorium Brotherhood, maybe it's a stupid question, but do I get discount on the items if I'm friendly, honored etc?

EDIT: I can confirm it myself now, exalted Thorium Brother, gives discount, the plans are 210 gold each at exalted

Thank you ikurkul for pointing out that not everyone in the game is a raider! I and several enjoy the quest line and work on the achievements taking glee in teasing each other about who has more points. Get a bunch on vent and go do one of the more impossible .... not raiding or dungeon.... achievements..... its always good for some laughs and oh what pleasure when the "geared" member of the crew can't figure it out!

I think this quote from wowpedia pretty much covers it:

During the War of the Three Hammers, the Thorium Brotherhood naturally sided with the Dark Iron clan. When Ragnaros enslaved the Dark Irons, the Firelord sent what remained of the Thorium Brotherhood to work his forges along with many of their kin.

While most Dark Iron dwarves were resigned to enslavement (after all, they were still doing what they were doing before, and now they had a powerful patron), not so the Thorium Brotherhood. To the members of this guild, their great talents were being wasted mass-producing weapons for the Firelord’s armies. Thus, Oilfist (former apprentice to Overseer Lokhtos Darkbargainer) devised a plan of escape. With their knowledge of enchanting and their access to the forges, the dwarves crafted, under the noses of their taskmasters, weapons, armor and tools that allowed them to escape Blackrock Depths.

Sounds pretty personal for the Brotherhood to me.

My Blacksmith/Engineer toon also exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood just unlocked Damek today (able to look at the wares anyway) and all the crafting recipes are 240 gold which would be a 20% discount which is expected at exalted.

My question is how are you wrangling 210 gold? Goblin discount? Dating his sister? How?

Since there's already a tanking sword for tanking pallies

There's tanking warriors too, and some tanks might prefer the axe over the sword (axe has mastery+threat, sword has mastery+avoidance)

No real upgrades for enhancement shamans...

The only thing I could get is the 365 relic, but you can get a 378 for Valor Points eventually...

Agi trinket is horrible, gonna stick with my DMC:H and Fluid Death for a little longer...

Too bad there is no recipe for an Agi Mace/Axe either...

If you want to buy his stuff, but aren't too pleased that he's neutral and charges more, here's an easy way to get Exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood.

Buy or otherwise obtain 22 熔岩之核 (less if you have rep boosting effects like 外交).
Go to 黑石深淵.
Head to the Grim Guzzler (if you have a 恐酒遙控器 you can just go straight there).
Talk to 羅克圖斯‧暗契 and do the quest 兄弟會的好感 - 熔岩之核.
Repeat 21 times.
You are now Exalted with the Thorium Brotherhood. Have fun.

it takes 300 marks just to start to unlock the 3 vendors holy c%$p
for 365 gear! I started this Mark stuff to get the Masterwork
Elementium Deathblade plans but since i started i bought the
sword from a player but would still like the plans to make it
but by the time i get those plans something else will come along.
I do not see very much activity for 365 weapon plans for BS to make.
In fact my other toons r not a BS because it sucks.

There are different types of grind. This type, as well as the Argent Tournament etc is so repetitive and boring that you'd have to be brain dead to persist with it. Blizzard could have designed these rewards to be very rare random drops from slightly harder mobs a-la Diablo II.

So, for someone trying to get the blacksmithing recipes as soon as possible, is it necessary to do both factions (i.e. 150 marks x2, plus the 125 for Damek) before opening this guy up to buy them?

Because no other comment seems to mention... After you have completed Druids of the Talon and Shadow Wardens (150 each = 300 Marks), you need to complete the quest Additional Armaments, given by Damek, and need 125 MORE.

Kinda effed to find out after grinding the 300 that I still need 125 more >.>

The bare minimum you must do to buy from this vendor, is complete these lengthy quests: 猛禽德魯伊, 暗影看守者 and finally 額外的裝備. A total of 425 世界之樹印記 will be needed. This will take roughly 3-4 weeks if doing the dailies every day.

The items sold by this NPC should be made Bind-on-Account at this point. I completed this grind a few years back on my cloth-wearing warlock, but because the items are BoP I can't have my lock buy them and send them to my paladin. VERY frustrated to think that I will have to do this month-long grind AGAIN on my paladin just so I can complete this old set. If I ever decide I want the blacksmithing or engineering plans I'd then need to do it on a third toon... c'mon Blizz, it's almost 2024. Do you really want me spending a month (or more ) of my time grinding this old content - again - so I can get these items, or would you rather I spend time on current content?
