Mount Hyjal Zone
Lake below Shrine of Goldrinn, there are two caves visible on map.
Grotto Vole is found in the right one (as you look on map)
Called Maw of Lycanthoth

Hello,

I flew around for a while before I used a little common sense to find this dam thing. There is only 1 in the zone that I could find. It is located in a cave (Grotto) southeast of the shirne of Goldrinn. Hope this helps someone out.

There are several all over Hyjal that I found. They are primarily found in all of the cave and underground complexes. The Hyjal Barrows, the Maw of Lycanthoth, among several other areas.

Just go do some spelunking and you should be able to find a couple. :)

The Grotto Voles can be found at the Hyjal Barrow Dens, this is a cave and its coordinate location is 52/17

Grotto Vole can also be found in Nordrassil on the tree,,just make a macro

I found one around the entrance of Hyjal Barrow Dens. Just go there and /love. Easy.

Much easier to see and select if you Display the names of Critters & Companions in your options. The white of this tiny critter stands out best on a dark background as in the caves.

Just to throw it out there, you don't actually have to find the caves to /love the Voles. If you stand just west of where the Nordrassil tree is on the map, and /target Grotto Vole (or whatever other targeting macro you prefer), you can target them and /love them. Line of sight is not required. ;)

So I'm trying to get these for the kalimdor safari achievement but none of them ever seem to have a green paw above their head. Am I the only one with this problem?
edit: Found one but it came as a buddy with a chipmunk.

This battle pet was impossible for me to find on its own. After entering into battle with a variety of pets, it finally appeared as a second pet to an alpine chipmunk.

This one took me a while to find as a secondary, I must have started around 30 or so battles working my way around the map :@

Finally mine came from starting a fight with an Ash Lizard at The Regrowth near the Charred Flamewalker mobs.

If your looking at the icons quickly to see that pets you will be fighting, the Grotto Vole has an icon like a curled rats tail.

The one I caught was uncommon and had 936 hp while I was fighting it.

The respawn rate for these guys is VERY fast, like 1-3 mins (6.0.3) good luck!

I was in flight to Hyjal to find this little guy, the Grotto Vole. Then I realized, he is a battle pet. And I already have every capturable battle pet from every zone, though I was just getting around to doing the squirrel achievements.

So if you are like me, then just summon him, target, and /love. Done.

Turns out, a large number of the battle pets are on the /love list for these 'chieves. CHECK YOUR BATTLE PETS BEFORE you fly around the world. Lesson learned,
