Solo'ed him as a lvl 88 hunter with a turtle tank pet in mostly dungeon and quest blues. Found him at the top of the hill to the left side of the tomb of shadows. Has lots of adds in the area around 7 to 10 that have lots of aoe and cc. I ended up killing the adds in front of him first then tapping him and killing the rest of the adds before killing him. He did not seem to hurt my pet much the group of adds were doing more damage than he was. After killing them he was very easy. He pust voidcloud down, its a big purple area on the ground my pet was in it alot but took relativily little damage from it. Dropped the Crate of kidnapped puppies, plate bracers some cloth and gold. "....and they eat puppies" LOL... Good luck and Happy Hunting.

He can be found at 55, 44 in Kun-Lai Summit. 2442k hp, kill the mobs around him first.

All Mogu Sorcerers use the same set of mechanics.

Dark Bolt is a simple ranged attack, ala wanding. Nothing to be done about this.

Shadow Bolt is exactly what it sounds like. It can be interrupted and although it's not a particularly strong attack, there's nothing else to be interrupted anyway.

Voidcloud creates a persistent purple AoE zone centered on your location when the spell finishes. This zone will deal heavy damage if you do not move out of it quickly, so try to be moving already when the cast is ending and place it in an area you can stay out of. Voidclouds last long enough that you may have 2 or 3 up at the same time. The spell can be delayed by stunning the Mogu, but he will resume casting it once the stun wears off.

He patrols back and forth between the two camps in the area. Just wait for him to go to the back and then you can clear the mobs without worrying.

Important to note: unlike other rares, this one is tied to the mobs around him in terms of aggro.
So you cant snipe him out of the camp and hope he comes running after you without adds, there will be adds....horrible chainfrostbolting adds...

Do not have to kill any adds to get him if you have any kind of ranged attack that you can use on him. There is a small hill that sits between the two campsites that he walks between. Stand on the top of that hill and catch him half way between the camps, hit him with one shot or spell, then back off the hill and keep backing up until you are free of the any chance of aggro on mobs. Then just keep hitting and healing. Did solo with very squishy hunter

I have literally killed him 13 times. He's up every time I fly over roughly around (55, 43) on top of the mountains. This may not always be the case with everyone, but he seems to have an extremely quick respawn timer.
Again, easy fight as most Mogu sorcerers are. Just move from voidclouds and interrupt as much as you can. He CAN be pulled without pulling other mobs (easily, at 90) but you might decide you want to kill them first for a clean kill anyway. Good luck!

Note: There are no mobs down the hill a little ways, you can easily kite him and the voidclouds down the hill with no problems or adds. All of my kills were on a 90 affliction warlock, I haven't tried him on any other classes.

Does anyone know if the crate of puppies is still dropped by this NPC? I have killed him close to 20 times and no puppies!

Looking to kill Viscidus? This is your best bet, especially as a caster, and within that category, as a Frost Mage.

Viscidus takes 20 attacks to freeze, and there is no time limit on this.

He does, however, take 30 melee strikes to shatter, and that has a very sharp timer on it, which most mages cannot manage, even with a 1.6 speed dagger. His Crate of Kidnapped Puppies will shatter him very efficiently, and well within the time frame.

Confirmed to have a spawn timer that ranges from 50 minutes to an hour.

I say this so you don't have to to waste as much time as I did in the future.

In my quest to get the AQ set for my priest, I figured I needed the puppy crate to take down Viscidus. Spawn rate was more or less every hour: 13.12 - 14.06 - 15.05. Got the crate on third try. Probably got lucky.

Confirming that this creature does spawn at regular intervals (usually up once an hour or so) as of the date of this posting.

I got the crate after three kills, looted along with one of the wrists he can also drop. He was up when I got to him, killed at 18:48. Second spawn was 19:28 (40 minutes) and third spawn was 19:59 (31 minutes). He does patrol between camps, but both spawns I saw were at the northern camp next to the sleigh with the large sack: /way 56.06 43.20

As of the pre-patch 9.0.1 it took me about 15 kills to get the crate of puppies. I thought it might be bugged but nope I eventually got it.

So, i wanted the Crate of Kidnapped Puppies to take down the Ooze Boss Viscidus in Temple of Ahn'Quraj. Camped this bloke, took me about 7 kills. (currently a lvl 60 Prot Paly with ilevel 220 Korthia archivist gear, in case anybody even remotely cares), i pity the poor buggers who it took over 20 kills, you have my sympathy.

As an Update for March 2022:

Darkfist still spawning at either of the two campfires near the summit of Kun-Lai. Walks back and forth, easy to kill solo as a Lvl50 anything. Adds nearby are no issue, if it's a worry just tag him when he is halfway between the two campfires and he won't Alert anyone else. Respawn timer was roughly 44 minutes each time, killed him 4 times and the Crate of Kidnapped Puppies dropped on the 4th Kill. Absolutely a Must to have this trinket if you are a Mage-Class and are trying to kill Viscidus in the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. Freeze Viscidus, pop the Trinket, and watch the Puggles turn Big Blobby into a Slurpee.

Hunters: He will immediately one shot your pet so be ready to revive.

Get up on that ledge to the side and kill all the trash or the trash will mob you during the fight.

Then go for the big guy. Once he's down he likes to merge with the wall so you can't loot. Just use fetch.

I just got the crate of puppies from him. It took 4 kills. He respawn timer has changed and seems to be exactly 20 mins.

As of 2025- Spawn timer is 20 minutes. You can kill multiple times in a day. I have gotten many more of the rarer items to drop before the crate of puppies.
