A tameable blue/white parrot found rarely in the final room of Deadmines (both heroic and regular) amongst the common 聒噪的日翼鸚鵡s and 恐怖的鸚鵡s. You won't see it very often, though it's not actually flagged as "Rare". There's a second potential "rare" spawning parrot in the same room, the yellow-white 白化鑿眼鵰. On an island in the same room is a tameable grey parrot, 老喙仔, which appears every time.

A note to everyone out there, this mob, as well as the other rare bird, the Albino Eyegouger, do NOT have silver dragons around their portraits! Don't be picky, just tame! :P

I went to deadmines to tame the albino eyegouger because it was listed as rare.thought it would be easy to pick this one up also boy was i wrong. I ran deadmines 97 times to get the brilliant macaw. tamed eyegouger and then killed him 7 more times ,how most of the sights have eyegouger listed as rare and brilliant macaw as not rare is hard to believe. this pet was worth the grind but if you go to tame be ready to be there awhile and good luck.

Finally managed to get him after 5 days straight farming Deadmines on my level 44 Hunter. Stupidly going to try for Albino next (I haven't seen him yet) until my sainty finally snaps.

Well worth it though as this is an utterly gorgeous skin. Good luck if you're going for it!

Got lucky and was able to tame the Brilliant Macaw after only 8 runs. Going to try for the Albino Eyegouger now.

I found it the first time not thinking it was rare, I just saw it, saw that it was different from the others, and tamed it. I dont use it though, I dont like its color to much. I havent seen the Albino Eyegouger before, but i do hope to see it!

Well I too finally got this bird after months it seems. The very odd thing is there were 2 brilliant macaw's flying which I have never seen or heard of before. Gorgeous pet and it matches Miniwing the non-combat pet too.. happy hunting!

Ugh, I walked into Deadmines for thefirst time on my new tauren hunter, and I actually SAID to the group "hey, if the Brilliant Macaw is up, I'd like to tame it, so don't kill it please!"

Well, it was up. And they killed it. I haven't seen it since. /cry

Double Ugh..

I was in yet another run through the Deadmines using the dungeon finder on my Worgen Hunter who had her experience gains turned off just to tame this parrot. The door to the last room opened and I saw a Brilliant Macaw in the second parrot position. My mind went blank, I wasn't prepared for it. I hadn't told my group about me wanting to tame it, neither did I have a free active slot. Do I abandon one of my pets first or do I tell my group not to kill it first? Since they were still looting the last bunch of mobs, I decided to abandon first. Which though? The diseased black bear or the white/grey lion? Silverpine Forest was a pain to get to on foot and I already had a black lion, so I decided to let the lion go.

While I was abandoning, the others ran past me, they missed the Brilliant Macaw and it wasn't aggro-ed to any of them. I breathed a sigh of relief and started taming. But to my horror, a (dps) priest suddenly shot a spell at it and started slowly but surely killing it off. I told him to not kill it for me to tame, but he ignored my pleas. Poor Brilliant Macaw dropped dead right before my eyes. Everyone ran on ahead while I kneeled and /mourn-ed over its lifeless body. I couldn't care less about the Defias Brotherhood nor Ripsnarl now.

As I said my last goodbye and walked along the dock, I saw a glint of white buried beneath the red parrot bodies up ahead. It can't be an Albino Eyegourger, two rare parrots in one dungeon is just too much! I got closer to examine (well, desperately trying to click target the white parrot), and I realised it was another Brilliant Macaw... I cursed and swore.

Two Brilliant Macaws in one dungeon, I'll never get to see another any time soon, given how rare the others in this thread said it was. :(

note: the priest got booted out of the group before the last boss cos he ninja-ed an agi dagger from a rogue. consoled me somewhat. meh.

edit: I got the Brilliant Macaw a few runs after. Guess it's not THAT rare after all. Looks like the albino is more rare since I have not seen it yet. The Brilliant Macaw was in the second position again. Pays to be prepared..
Anyway, here's what I did.
1. Door opens. Spam press macro: "/tar Brilliant Macaw". Should be able to check the entire dock worth of parrots. If not, just press as you run ahead.
2. Brilliant Macaw targeted. Get within 30 yards range.
3. Press macro:
/y Don't kill the white Brilliant Macaw. I wanna tame it please!
/cast Tame Beast

Ok, I admit, I had the last macro ready, but in my excitement, I forgot where I placed it. So I used my regular Tame Beast button and managed to convey the message through party chat. meh.

ok, im in freaking deadmines got killec 2 times and im here i killed every parrot i sawnot wat? i dont see any rare buty caw!

I just found him last night and I am so excited! I ran for months hours at a time and he never spawned. I was in on my rogue just leveling the toon and it spawned and I was so pissed. I decided to go back to my hunter and give it a try and bam there were two! Grabbed my bird and got out of there. So happy to finally have this bird in my collection. Now miniwing has a big sister :D

8 albinos / 1 brilliant in 80 DeadMines runs on normal mode. Still in the game, good luck everyone !

Just an update - as of 8.3 he is still available! Took about 30-40 Deadmine runs in order to have him spawn.
