Soloable as a 29 enhancement Shaman.

1.) Find Steelsnap and his pack and get in front of them.
2.) Drop your Stoneclaw totem (yes, it DOES have a use)
3.) Shoot Steelsnap from afar with your Lightning Bolt (I popped Blood Fury too, since I'm an orc)
4.) Immediately hit Steelsnap with Flameshock while strafing sideways and backwards. (Don't walk straight back..you move too slowly)
5.) When the cooldown is up, hit Steelsnap with Earthshock.
6.) Alternate between Flameshock and Earthshock until he is dead.

By the time Steelsnap was dead (which wasn't long) his two escorts had already gone into evade mode and I didn't have to fight them. I ended the fight with 90% health.

Not too bad for a 31 shadow priest. PW:S, pulled Steelsnap from max range and cast until shield was down, feared, continued to dps Ss, PW:S again once they were back on me. When Ss died, I quickly looted and took off. Feared one more time for good measure and by that time I was back to the road.

Did this as lvl 28 Disc (for wand dmg and Shield) /Shadow. very easy just SW:pain, wand him til he died-----Looted-----ran like hell;)...

soled as a 24 warlock, very easy, no even need to sacrifice void, there was no guard near him...

this NPC spawns at 17.26 and he is walking around that cliff at 17.24

This is soloable as a hunter at lvl 27.

Have your pet aggro steelsnap, then fear one of the other two mobs.
Kill the other mob while steelsnap is occupied (don't forget to keep your pet healed).
Finish off steelsnap.
Kill the final mob.

This was relatively easy, although my health got down to about 1/3.

Just soloed him as a 28 hunter. Sent my boar in and he took all aggro. Threw a Mend Pet and shot Steelsnap. Very easy

Easy as a 29 warrior, accidently pulled him and his friends but just used retaliation to burn them down quick. Popped a healing potion when I started to get low on health but in hindsight might have been able to do without.

As a warrior, I found a useful strat for killing him, worked pretty well.

I aggroed the 3 mobs, battle shout, tclap, demo shout and intimidating shout. While the other two mobs ran in fear, I focused on Steelsnap. When they returned, I hit retaliation and finished off the adds.

As a 28 Frost Mage:

- Sheeped one guard
- Shot 2 Frostbolts at Steelsnap until both remaining mobs arrived at me
- Frost Nova
- Killed Steelsnap before Frost Nova faded, looted the Rib and started running

Pretty easy actually.

very very doable for a 29 druid, sleep steelsnap, entangle one bodyguard, quickly go to cat form and kill the not entangled body guard, while steelsnap is still sleeping, kill the recently free from entangled bodyguard, when both bodyguard is dead, steelsnap probably awake from hibernate, and you can kill him easily.

Excellent idea. Hibernate last just long enough to take one guard down, rooted guard came about the same time as Steelsnap. Killed the second guard, popped a potion and took out Steelsnap.

Level 30 shadowpriest - I simply DoT'ed them up, one of them had Vampiric Embrace on for passive healing, do as much dmg to any of the mobs (I went with Steelsnap 'cause he was the quest target) and when they reach you and start tearing your shield down, simply fear and nuke down your first target and recast Vampiric Embrace on a second target. With one target down and the two others damaged by your Shadow word: Pain, you can either loot Steelsnap and run away, or kill the two remaining. I recommend killing them all, just to let them know how good you are.

Doable, but not exactly easy as a 25 lock. A drain tank spec is needed, as well as an SS, HS and a pot, and event then you need to be lucky with resists. I'd advice to wait a few levels, but if you can't wait, here's how I did it.

0) Use your Void Walker. No other pet will really do.
1) Pull Steelsnap and DoT him up. Fear one of the adds.
2) Proceed to nuke Steelsnap, and keep the one add chainfeared. If you've lost any health, Drain your life back.
3) Once your Void Walker gets low, sacrifice him and run like hell, while keeping DoTs on Steelsnap. Ideally Steelsnap should be around 30% now. (Pray that he doesn't resist anything :))
4) Loot the corpse once Steelsnap dies. Generally you'll now be very low, and you'll have to die. Pop your SS.
5) ??
6) Profit!

But again, I'd advice you to wait till at least level 26. Seduction would probably make this a cake walk. But hey, challenge yourself it's doable :)

Soloed as a warrior lvl 27 ... Just prepare when u see them (Bloodrage) and charge ... Just fear all the three at a time and then hit Steelsnap so he's not feared, and kill it.

Killed it with my lvl 29 Discipline priest. Popped up inner fire and PWS, wait 10s to not have problems with weakened spirit and nuke steelsnap, when shield go down you can repop it to not lose cast time. after it was dead i just used scream, looted and got away...

Didn't even needed a pot.

Soloed as a 28 Ret Paladin. When Steelsnap got close, I pulled him with Seal of Command and Judgement of Light, dropped Consecration to deal with the adds, and melee'd him down with a Hammer of Justice/Judgement of Command. I killed the adds with basic melee, popping Hand of Protection to cast Holy Light when I was low on HP.

This one would make a good pet for a 30+ hunter . > Hyena's are good DPS and they're easy to feed. Ugly yes but i'd rathe live then have a good lookin pet LOL!

Did this as level 30 hunter with Carrion pet and REZ SICKNESS.

Marked steel, used SS and then immolation trap on him, pet attacked him and the adds whilst i shot him. he died, i then ran out of mana and used MP every time i got enough mana back. pet died when both adds were at low health.
killed one add whilst the other beat on me, then freezing trapped the last one, bandaged, killed with melee.

no problems, good fun.

Soloed him as lvl 30 balance druid (fully rare cloth).
Used Hibernate on Steelsnap;
Roots+MF+IS on one guard;
and nuked the other guard.

Soloed as 28 Rogue, Ran in, killed one hyena thingy, vanished and then ambush -> killed steelsnap with a centaur+steelsnap+hyena on me. Got glitched for a bit though, tried to loot it and it just put his hand down on corpse as if he was looting it but no screen or anything came up. Relogged and could loot it. Not too hard, if yo have nice damage output you could probably just rush suicide kill him( run in and kill him while getting attacked :P)

Steelsnap and his guards spawn at 13, 20 right on the road.

Soloed as 28 Affliction Warlock. Easy as pie, used the following strategy:

-Send Voidwalker to Steelsnap then DoT him up
-Fear one of the guards (your VW should be able to handle the second one attacking him)
-Burn down Steelsnap
-Go after the remaining guard and fear the second one again
-Kill the final guard and voila :)

screw tactics, i ran in as a rogue nuked out my rota on steel, killed, looted (and skinned, ima add :P) then ran sprinted the hell away - win!

Solo'd as a lvl 28 Shaman patch 3.3 . Healing and Searing totems, cast a heal on self halfway through. He went down easy. Blizzard has made this game more painless than ever.

Just wanted to tell how I killed this guy as a lvl 29 shadow priest to help other priest as well:
I started off by casting a Holy Fire on Steelsnap, then a Mind Blast, and dot'ed him up with SW:P and Devouring Plague. Then the group reached me, and I feared them away. When they we're all running, I channelled 2 Mind Flay's on Steelsnap, then Mind Blast'edhim again, and finished him off with my wand.
Now I just had two regular mobs, so I shield'ed and I just killed them by my usual rotation.

I hope this can help other priest in solo'ing hard mobs/groups.

EDIT: I know this isn't the usual way (dotting up all mobs), but I found this way much quicker. Oh, and typpo's ofc.

I just killed the guy, and you basically don't have to kill any1 besides steelsnap himself all you gotta do is dps him untill he dies then die (if you have to) and run back and loot him . Simple

His adds have an ability called Intimidating Growl that will send you RUNNING. You get around a 100% movement increase and you run around feared. It's a bit different from most fears, but you'll have to witness it to really see why.
