I have one of these as my pet, it's bloody awesome!

Edit: This particaular model of cat (with red glowing eyes) is yet to be listed on Petopia, but like it says above they are found in the
Lost City of Tol'vir, right in the beginning.

There's one elite guy with about five of these cats, just throw an ice trap on the ground and start taming, they don't hit hard and you can just exit once you have tamed it.

I'm actually surprised this model of cat is so uncommon among hunters, it's so awesome (x2)!

Drops 1-4 SAVAGE LEATHER when skinned. Very easy to farm these mobs for leather as a rogue skinner. Sap the humanoid and then you have yourself a half stack of free savage leather. Go out and reset... rinse and repeat.

(edit) bad news everybody! =( just did a 5x lockout skinning all ten tigers and got a total of 35 leather, a whopping nerf compared to the 100x i'd usually roll out with. this seemed to coincide with the bloated stomach drops appearing on their loot table.

Love these, should get a title for skinning more than a thousand or two!

From what I can tell so far these guys can drop pristine hide, but (edit) did recently start dropping bloated stomach!.

Although they drop many greens, (quite often for a non-elite) I haven't seen any rare gear drop off of them. (edit) just looted a rare off a tiger. woot!
Good news though, the Elite alongside them seems to drop a rare like impetuous query or lhakaz swiftblade with about 1/100 drop rate.

I'm popping Treasure Finding while locking out my five for the hour with great results :)

Confirmed to now drop only 1 (possibly two) Savage Leather, in one stack instead of two (i.e. when they're looted you get one set of 1-2 leather rather than two sets). Also confirmed to now be able to give Strange Bloated Stomachs when skinned. I haven't gotten a Pristine Hide off of one since the hotfix, but I will update if I do.

While its true they nerfed the drop rate, there is a neato trick I need to tell you all.

If you just attack their handler, he casts a spell that multiplies the damage out to the cats, and they all die when he gets to about 50% health. They will attack you but they drop fast if you're geared.

... Especially good when you have a hunter or maybe a frost mage that can tamp down the adds.

First the nerf the bats and now this... its not like we can keep going in unlimited about of times, its 5 times then you have to wait over an hour. It seems blizzard would like us to waste even more of our lives, just to get leather.

From what i can tell, they have been nerfed and now only drop 1-2 Savage Leather, but i can comfirm that they now do drop Strange Bloated Stomachs.

It's still worth going in and killing them if you're close to the instance, since you get so many mobs in one pull. Just kill and loot 10 pulls and then continue outside. :)

Just did rinse and repeat x5 killing the two packs at the start of the instance. It appears they either nerfed the toughened flesh drop rate substantially or they removed it from the table completly.

It is a little confusing on exactly HOW to tame this cat. Once you know, it is really hard...but up until then, it can be frustrating. You are going to want to:

1. Pick your kitty out and try your best to keep him separate from the pack. (Ice trapping is recommended, of course, but I was having some unexplained issues doing so)
2. Kill the tamer quickly, then kill the other kitties. Your kitty is not tameable until the others are dead
3. Tame kitty!

We went through 3 iterations of this before we figured it out...I hope this saves someone some time.

1. Spec SV
2. Enter instance
3. Wyvern Sting the tamer dude
4. Cat pack will attack.
5. Pick one, cast Tame Pet and wait till the channeling is finished.
6. Enjoy your new pet.

No need to kill anyone in the instance. Freezing Trap recommended, but not required.

Petopia site picture doesnt do these casts justice. They are truly beautiful! Saw a hunter with one the other day and had to go back to Petopia to see how I could have missed it - and it's because the picture doesnt show the shine over the fur.

Poygen (the rare from STV) also has this shine, but the Petopia picture does at least reflect that to some small extent.
