I was looking someting up on wowhead when I heard the polymorph sound in the background. 5mins later I found out that I had unread mail (just like the screenshot). It happened to me when I was sitting in Sunreaver's Sanctuary by the battleground portals. (2nd one after Cronje)

Seems to be a random event, I like it. :)

I was standing around in the bank in Dalaran in catform, and I noticed an odd spell effect comming at me from behind. Well, nothing happened about it, no buffs or debuffs, so I continued sorting out bags, bank etc....
A little later I got mail - from Minigob Manabonk - the wand included. He writes "Remember when you got sheeped in the bank in Dalaran?" and well no, I had NO clue what he was on about, so I looked him up here. Obviously, I missed out on a fun lil' polymorph because I was immune due to being shapeshifted. -Bad habit anyway, runnung around in catform ;-)

Seems Manabonk was implemented in 3.1 - a fun lil' addition to the game, thumbs up Blizz!

Yep, I was standing by the new Wintergrasp portal area and got manabonked. Received the letter 5-10 minutes later with a wand attached. :D

I was standing at the Sewers bank by Cantrips and crows when this guy sneaks up on me and sheeps me!I have just enough time to turn around and /gasp at him before he laughed and teleported away >.>
I've yet to receive the wand in the mail though. Guess it takes a little while to arrive.

Lol, got bonked today in the south bank. I'd stopped to point out to a guildie how ridiculous his name was, and he polymorphed me! The letter and The Mischief Maker that arrived about an hour later in the mail were quite a treat, but I was disappointed to discover the wand had only one use. I wasted it on an unsuspecting player wanting to see what it did. I agree, Blizz needs to make Manabonked an achievement. Definitely great for laughs.

I was cooking in Ledgermain Lodge today when suddenly I was sheeped and heard the gnome laugh. Couldn't figure out how I got sheeped till I read the letter in the mail. Kept right on cooking though.

I was on my druid waiting for bg and he just popped up from nowhere. He tried to polymorph me, but I was in cat form. Poor gnome failed :(

Strange thing is that he buffed me with Fortitude, Divine Spirit and Shadow Protection, then he laughed at me <no reason> and teleported. So... is he a mage or a priest? I'm a bit confused ^_^

Keep in mind this wand has only 1 charge and is just like Polymorph, so it doesn't work on shape shifted Druids since they are immune.... I just wasted mine =(

You will receive The Mischief Maker even if you are immune to the spell he casts.

So druids should fear not :)

I have been manabonked twice now.

I saved my second The Mischief Maker (which has a /use and disappears after use, despite there being no text saying so) and waited until he came down into the sewers' bank again. I tried to manabonk him back before he got to me, but you can't manabonk NPCs! So, I watched as he manabonked the AFK nelf right next to me, laughed, and walked away.

I positioned myself and /moan'ed at the nelf while I had the chance, but I doubt she understood when she got back.

I too got Manabonked! I was browsing sites at the time, heard something happening to my character and thought I was actually being attacked in the safe sewers of Dalaran. (bank area)

Thought I was going to die there.

I can also confirm that the much loved spelling mistakes have been corrected in the mail.

The thing is with this guy he only goes for random ppl which is AFK.

Not everytime u are afk but sometimes, I've seen him 3 times now but only when I've been AFK tagged. same with other ppl I've seen.

Every second there is a chance of this guy popping up, it may be less then 1%, so if someone is afk, that means they are in dalaran for more time, which boosts the % of him showing up. It is a random event so the actual "afk" tag doesnt effect him appearing or not.

He appeared in the Cantrips & Crows bank area behind me today. At first I wasn't sure if he would bonk me, since I was technically AFK. So I moved to reset my activity and he still didn't do anything. After about 30 seconds to a minute of not moving (I went back to reading wowhead, actually) he bonked me.

Perhaps he goes after people who are still for a certain amount of time. I've seen AFK and non AFK targets get hit, but never anyone who was moving.

Edit: As of 9-9-09 I have been sheeped 5 times. PICK A DIFFERENT TARGET ALREADY. This time I was sitting in a chair, afk, in the Legerdemain.

I was sitting on the dock fishing to get some skill-ups when the guy came up. He was moving around kinda' strange and at first I thought it was a player with a title... but of course I couldn't inspect. I saw him moving back and forth being kinda' random, so I continued fishing, about 30 seconds later I get casted on while fishing >=0.

I LoL'd and took a picture of it since it was the first time I've heard of something like this xD. Turns out 3 hours later when I went to collect on some auctioned items, he had sent me the Mischief maker =). I wasn't moving around when he casted it, I think he either casts it at the closest person to him, or possibly any random target that is in range of him.

I noticed this little fellow in the bank today and was running around like a rabid dog. Looked him up and read the comments. So i figured i would do what i can to get him to poly myself.

I /wave at him, nothing. Then i tried to /lol at him. Right after that i was polyed. (There were about 15 other toons by him as well) Might just be a coincidence but anyone else that sees him, /lol at him and try it.

Got Bonked while i was checking bank stuff in the Dalaran sewers today. he was kinda just wandering around behind me while i looked sideways at him while ordering my bank, then he walked up and cast his lovely spell, and bam, sheep time!

He got me today in the Silver Enclave right next to the Strand of the Ancients portal. I'm not sure if this is normal but when I got his message I actually received two of the same letters and also two wands, however, I can only hold one at a time. I'm sure I was only manabonked once so I don't know why I received two letters.
It's definitely a fun little add to the game though.

I literally logged into my Shaman in Dalaran underbelly, I was pvp flagged cause I was doing pvp the night before, as soon as I took my first step forward he appeared behind me and sheeped me. My heart dropped cause I thought an alliance had gotten the drop on me as soon as I logged in. Confused and panicked I turned around and hit my pvp trinket, ready to fight him, but I could not cast, no matter what I mashed on my keyboard and he disappeared laughing. Then to my relief it dawned on me and you can't fight in Dalaran. I feel so sheepish, I felt punked. Blizzard and their sick sense of humor.

Note that you can move while manabonked, unlike a real polymorph.

I had been manabonked by him before while afk, and this time i saw him just walking around in the portal area.. I /poked him and he bonk'ed me, and now anticipating another wand in the mail.

I'm actually a little bit peeved. For the past half an hour I've been flipping through my toons, as I'm leveling Engineering on an alt and it takes ALL KINDS of parts. So I finish getting another few points off of one item and swap to another character again to send over more stuff to use, and see the wand in my mail. I stared at it, trying to figure out who the merry hell this Manabonk person was and why he'd be sending me stuff.

Then I remembered reading about him in this thread several months ago and promptly opened Wowhead to check. No wai! I'd been 'bonked! :D

I hadn't been in Dalaran very long on this toon today yet I never actually saw myself being sheeped. I'm so annoyed that I never got to see this monumental and rare sighting because I probably was tabbed out while looking up something. /cry!

Update: Okay, apparently the way to "summon" him is to walk away from they keyboard or not pay attention to the game. Less than an hour ago I parked a different character (and the other faction!) in the forge, intending to do some blacksmithing, and left for a moment to grab a drink. I came back, made a couple of things, and began flapping around Zul'Drak for cobalt ore. Then, I saw the new mail icon. From Minibonk. WTF? I had only been in town for a bit over five minutes before setting out again. I've been bonked twice now and was not physically present for either of them. I has a sad. :(

I don't think there is anyway to get him to Manabonk you on purpose. I was in the bank & saw him walk in. I clicked on him to try to make him Manabonk me. But he did it to someone else at the bank, laughed then walked away and disappeared. I was a little sad he didn't choose me, but at least I got to see him do it :)

Happened to me in the bg portal area in Dalaran - I was actually looking for the poison vendor but was in the wrong place (damn multi-level areas).
Sadly burnt the wand on an afk elf at the mailbox, didn't realise it was a one-shot only.

I was just bonked... and i was confused. i was moving, on my way to the bank when he appeared out of seemingly no where and bonked me.
so he does bonk moving people.
i, like everyone else, at first thought it was an ally and was like "wtf?" the saw his name and knew it was an npc and came here to learn what the heck was up.
got my wand about 5 mins later. havent used it yet, saving it to confuse my husband.

I just saw someone get bonked, and I turned around and there Minigob was, just standing. I moused over him and I swear he had the vendor cursor on for him, before he started laughing and ported away. There were no vendors nearby (middle of the S bank).

Has anyone else seen this, or am I mistaken? Anyone know what he sells if he does?

Got Manabonked today while I was moving towards the upper floor of the Legerdemain Lounge. I guess it doesn't matter if you're moving or not. (Please note that I was the only player inside the inn). At first I thought: What the? Now Mages can polimorph even in Sanctuaries? XD

Just ran into him inside the bank. He appeared out of nowhere and I just turned around to look at the 'blink' sound that this funny little NPC just made. He seemed to just be scurrying back in forth in random directions but I don't think he did anything to me. I came on here to look him up and when I went back to WoW, he was gone.

Was Manabonked several weeks ago and didn't get the wand, but I thought maybe it was because I wasn't afk. Today I went afk and walked back to my comp to see Manabonk polymorphing me. I refused to touch the mouse until he left, but still no mail. Alas.

i got manabonked on my druid one day and never got a wand, but then earlier today i got manabonked on my DK and i got 2 wands right after each other... i think its just a random spawn for the wands as well as for the guy... /shrug

Hehe. I just got one of my guildies with my charge. He's a priest who loves to cast Leap of Faith, which he has a macro to yell WHOOSH! each time he casts it. I got him back tonight. He loves to "Whoosh" when you are afk to random places in Orgrimmar. He once moved another guildy all the way to the Thunder Bluff Zepplin and parked him in Thunder Bluff. Lol,

He does use it on moving targets (I was on my way out of the bank and when i was almost out I turned). But one thing to notice is that he takes 2 secs to cast so maybe if you just pass by and run off he might be too far to manabonk you! (even with a ridiculously wide range)

I got his wand and deleted it. As a mage I have all the morphing ability I need. Now its reentered my mailbox and I can't clear or delete it. I'm not a fan of this.

Just got sheeped on my Alliance DK while trying to figure out my bag inventory addon. Got the wand in the mail. Couldn't use them on "friendly" (i.e. blue) player-controlled Horde toons, which was sad. We're not fighting anymore! We should be able to sheep each other!
