Found mostly in Northshire Valley, the Young Wolves are almost impossible to lose to, when they're alone. Though the ones found in Northshire are simple takedowns, the ones on the way to Goldshire are a bit tougher. You may notice that a lot of the Mangy Wolves on that path are followed by a Young Wolf, and if you attempt to kill one, the other will come running.

Starter monsters like these are the best if for only the plethora of armor that drops fro them. Even though the armor is crap, there's nothing like your first pair of crappy boots to get you in the mood for gaming.

Wierd thing is if you attack the forest wolf near them on the goldshire outskirts, they become aggresive.

Are these wolfs tamable? Do they keep the "poison gas" after being tamed?

I don't know, but this is speculation. I think with Cataclysm coming soon, we will start seeing changes before the release of the Expansion. For example, these wolves are diseases with some unknown plague and the questgiver, instead of asking you to kill them for their meat want their pelt to study them. I really hope we start seeing changes like these all over Azeroth, like the Barrens mobs getting sick, Felwood cleansing, etc.

With Undead gaining the hunter class in Cataclysm, if I ever make an UD hunter, I'm so taming one of these puppies!
They match their owners in ragged and diseased appearance.

Can't confirm, but I recall reading that Eagan will be the new Human Hunter trainer, and this quest is a pre-Cataclysm quest that will make him learn how to become a hunter.

Again, though. Merely speculation.

Got mine last night.
These are tameable - and as mentioned they do not keep their "poisoned cloud effect" but they do remain "scabby looking" and rough.

I'm uploading some screen shots, but i don't know if they will be submitted here at wowhead.
I personaly prefer lots of different angles on tameable mobs - before i decide to run all the way to wherever the mob is to tame it, but i guess there are always hunter sites out there like petopia which specialise in this more specifically.

Cataclysm is coming soon, new content (earthquakes, boiling ocean coasts, rabid wildlife) is showing up as time goes by. And Blizzard have stated that they have something even more grand than the past WotLK pre-release zombie event!

Altough these wolves are neutral to you, they will bite you if you start attacking Mangy Wolf near them.
However, this applies only to wolves located to north of Goldshire.

This is one of the weakest mob in wow ,but they have a pretty nice drop for money . They look diferent now , and in the past if im was taming a lvl 1-5 , they got just auto-atack with no abilityes.But it's good that they have now....

Since 4.2, the wolves have gotten well again. Don't know if this was deliberate or an 'oops', but no more ill young wolves!
