When it comes to the dailies that Gretta offers, she'll always have The Aberrations Must Die, but the second daily will revolve between Back to the Pit, Defending Your Title, and Maintaining Discipline.

The main reason to do these dailies is for the reward, Hyldnir Spoils, which has a small chance to contain Reins of the White Polar Bear.

Three days in row Gretta had a single daily for me; always a different quest. Today she had no daily for me. Can we conclude that she may have either two, one, or no quests available at random each day?

Well she has given me 2 each day with something stange happening...trys to give me quest but say i do not meet the requirements as above post says...i think it has to do with flying mount...mine is normal

Have confirmed that Gretta only giving one quest (The Aberrations Must Die!) is a glitch and NOT working as intended.

They are working on fixing this issue- will upload GM screenies in a few minutes.

Some days ago I went to Gretta early in the afternoon, got only Aberrations. Didn't do that though as something RL came up, but some hours later, I checked again and I got a second daily, one of the randoms, though it was the same I got the day before. Either they resetted the random daily to not be aberrations manually, or it has something to do with the time of day/when you last finished that quest.

So unforunately I skipped alot of the quests in Storm Peaks on my path to 80...so is there a pre-req chain of quests that I must do so that I can get dailies from this chick? As of right now she's KoS to me :(

If you are having problems getting one daily. Make sure that you have completed ALL quests at Brunnhildar Village.

I was only getting the Daily "Maintaining Discipline" until I discovered that I had missed 2 quests one of which was called "Aberrations" which allowed me to get my second daily "Aberrations Must Die".

The quest chain that leads you to this village starts in K3. You should get a quest where you have to rescue some goblin which will lead you to the quests at Brunnhildar Village.

Catriandis is correct. For the people only receiving one daily, complete the "Abberations" quest. The other daily will unlock, allowing you to do it daily (except for when the RNG selects "Abberations" as the other daily, in which case you just had bad luck).

I know that to get to Gretta you have to begin with They Took Our Men and do the that take place after it.

But what quests do I need to do to start getting the dailies from Gretta? Because after I accepted The Drakkensryd it just led to the Sons of Hodir and Gretta doesn't offer me anything.

I had been doing her dailies for about 10 days, and then about 4 days ago she decided to stop giving them to me . Nothing changed that I know of, she just doesn't give me dailies anymore for no apparent reason.

I have a simple question about this person:
To do all the other quests in the village you have you have to be on the They Took Our Men! to get the disguise thing as far as i know, but when you finished the quest line and get neutral (or whatever) with The Sons of Hodir. Do you then lose your disguise in the village and the opportunity to do her daylies? or can you complete them (talk to the people in brunnhildar village) after you've done the quest chain?

because i want to complete the quest chain, but i also want the mount =P

Welcome to Brunnhildar!

1. When you complete the They Took Our Men! chain, you will be disguised as a Brunnhildar war-maiden. This disguise will persist (theoretically forever) whenever you are in Brunnhildar village. Note: Rep with the Sons has no effect on the disguise. Just because you are serving the Vrykul women's leader (Thorim) and he knows you are <race> doesn't mean they need to.

2. Gretta the Arbiter will give you anywhere from 1 to 2 (I have not confimred 3 though it is said to be possible) daily quests once you have completed their pre-requisites.

3. You will always get The Aberrations Must Die as long as you have done it the first time. Make sure you kill the Vrykul in Valkyrion to get the oil and try and get as many eggs in one shot as you can. I believe the minimum possible oils needed is 5. There is usually 5-6 (sometimes 7) eggs in one group. You can aggro the Blighted Proto-Drakes if they are within the Oils' blast radius.

4. If you have not done the pre-reqs. it will say you are inelegible for the daily she trys to give you.

5. Sometimes it will say you are inelegible and you will get the quest. (I have done everything in Brunnhildar, K3, and am Revered with the Sons....still happens.)

*These quests are pretty quick (even at non-epic speed) and give a good bit of money and a chance for the mount! No rep is associated with them.

Only get one quest a day from her now, this is absurd. If they are only going to allow one quest a day from her they need to raise the % drop of the mount.

She still offers all the quests, but now it's on a daily rotating schedule just like fishing/cooking dailies. I've done it both days since the patch and gotten two different quests.

Ouch, someone really needs to take statistics. Doing a quest 100 times does NOT mean that it will drop in 100 tries. Each try has a 1% drop rate. If it doesn't drop for the first 99 times, it still only has a 1% chance on the 100th try.

To properly determine your odds when counting streaks, you don't add your chances together (ie .01 + .01 + .01 + ... + .01 = 1) you multiply your chances of failure (.99 x .99 x .99 x ... x .99) for as many "tries" as you want to calculate. Your odds of success are determined by the formula 1 - (F ^ T) where F is the chance of failure and T is the number of tries.

Therefore:

For 100 turn-ins your success rate is not 100%, but actually 1 - (.99 ^ 100) = .634 or 63.4%
Over 150 tries your odds go up to 1 - (.99 ^ 100) = .779 or 77.9%
Do it 200 times and you have an 86.6% chance. (you can do the math)
And over 300 attempts, one in twenty people (5%) will STILL have not gotten their polar bear.
To have a 99% chance to get a bear drop, you will have to do 450 turn-ins.

I, too have been getting only Maintaining Discipline. I just picked it up for the 5th time in a row. Not a difficult quest but how 'bout some variety?

I would have thought that, like the fishing and cooking dailies, everybody gets the same quest each day.

Ok I've done all of the quests offered to me at Brunnhildar Village. Though Gretta The Arbiter still shows me no dailies.

I see no more ?'s from any npcs in the Village and I've done all the quests for Sons of Hodir too. Only dailies available there.

Am I missing something?

Just curious if anyone can test this odd idea.
This isn't one of my usuall dailys, just something I do if I'm passing over & have the time to spare. I've done it in the past but cant remember the exact time I did it last. But heres the idea:
I got my achieve for Thorim kill 5/23/09. Today I try talking to her & all she says is "We server Thorim, sister."
Anyone without a Thorim kill be able to check if she still offers quest or is it just some kind of regular bug?
Would be really interesting if Blizz did something like this, killing a boss removed something from his minions....

Just as an aside, as a quick skim of the comments didn't say anything...

I've been doing these dailies every time I get a chance for about a week now. I leveled to 80 without touching Storm Peaks, but did the ridiculously long chain to unlock the daily quest from her. I was fine for most of that time, but this morning when I logged on she had no daily quest for me, simply saying "We serve Thorim, sister" or whatever when I talked to her. I hadn't finished all of the quests in Brunnhildar, just the ones necessary to unlock the daily. I noticed that the whole time I have been doing the dailies, I never got The Aberrations Must Die!... I also never did the regular quest for the same thing. All of the Brunnhildar quests have a regular quest that has the same objective.

I went and did Aberrations (getting Tears of Bitter Anguish in the process), and when I turned it in, sure enough... Gretta had The Aberrations Must Die! for me.

So if you have been doing dailies for her for a while, but find she won't offer one to you anymore, make sure all of the quests in the village have been done. The ones I hadn't finished were easy to miss, as they were in the back of one of the longer buildings.

Odd note about these dailies, apparently they're not connected together the way others are.

Take for example the daily battleground. Pick it up on Monday, complete it that day or on Tuesday, doesn't matter either way, just so long as you turn it in Tuesday. You won't be able to pick up the daily battleground until Wednesday.

Not so with Gretta. Last week I did "The Aberrations Must Die" but didn't get a chance to turn it in. Got my sack o' spoils when I was on the next day, and imagine my surprise when she had another daily ready for me ("Defending Your Title").

It probably doesn't work if you're turning in the same quest she's giving that day. But as long as they're different, this concept should work.

BTW I've done these at least 130 times. No polar bear yet.

A couple of times now, I have gone to Greta and she has absolutely no daily for me, even if I haven't done any dailies that day or turned in any, she offers me no daily. Then if I check her later in the week, she's offering me one.

I'm not a nub, and I'm not turning in my daily for her after the reset. I do my dailies in the afternoon, so there's no risk of me going over the reset point.

I read through the previous comments and didn't see anyone with this "bug"

I've been doing these dailies for awhile now, and just recently I felt like I was getting more than one daily per day (doing one right as the dailies reset in the morning and another late that night before they reset). I thought that I might just be remembering it wrong, being tired and confusing days...

Today was tuesday and I did all my dailies before the server reset, both gretta and the Champion's dailies. I logged on in the evening again, and I got to do ANOTHER daily from Gretta... however, my champions dailies are still done.

Can anyone else confirm this happening to them? If so, it would be prudent to visit her every few hours for more chances at that stupid God-forsaken Bear!

For some reason I can no longer see the dailies she gives, are they still in-game? Or are there new pre-req's or something I have to go do now?

What faction is she? I just noticed today that I'm honored with whatever it is. I'm exalted with Sons of Hodir, so it's not that... The only factions I'm honored with from WOLTK is the Frenzyheart. Everything else is exalted. (I quit doing the Sholazar dailies when I finally got the proto drake).

I came in for the 2nd day and Gretta (and all the rest) were hostile to me. (They did not attack me).
So i didn't got the quest.
I decide to leave the village and return.
Now they were friendly and i could get the daily from Gretta.

So logging in today after the patch, I go to do my daily, and Gretta (as well as everyone else in Brunhildar Village) is hostile to me. Anyone else having this issue? Any idea how to fix it?

I got the bug where I didn't transform when flying in, however, by pure chance I found out that if I'm on the ground when I enter the area, I will transform and I can get the quest.

Do 3 quests nearby, in one of the houses, look for yellow aprostroph, then the daily is available from Gretta again.

If this happens to you, there might be a regular quest in Brunnhildar Village that you haven't completed yet. Make sure you check around.

Just to confirm this, I have been doing this quest on and off for a while but when I came today there was no daily.

I checked around the village and found a yellow exclamation point, a quest it seemed I hadn't done (from 賽拉‧克微蕭).

Once I'd done the quest - 畸形 the dailies were back for me.

if you're lucky enough to have Vial of Sands mount (which transform you into a ridable mount) it does not work as a disguise! In otherwords, on a normal mount, upon entering into the village you automatically transform into a one of these valkry ladies, that does NOT happen if you're already a drake. You will be attacked, just a friendly warning ;)

Sometimes when I go to Gretta to get the daily, it isn't there, but I think I have figured it out.

The dailies are really just redoing quests we did in the chain, and the ones we've done are then opened up as dailies provided we get so far in the line of quests.

When we then get them opened up and go over to get her quests, if she has none that day, it's because we never did the original quest- specifically, if you didn't do the quest to freeze the eggs (which was past the point in the chain when the dailies opened up), then when that daily pops up, she will have nothing for you.

The solution (and this worked for me), if she has no quest for you, is to turn around and go to one of the huts on the opposite side of the village and pick up the quest to freeze the eggs. When you finish it, she'll have the daily for you then. If there are other quests that fall into this category (she has no daily for you, but you've frozen eggs before), look around to see what you missed.

there seems to be an issue with this npc (confirmed) some days she doesnt give players the daily quest and they miss a 3% chance of getting the polar bear its a major bug and i think blizzard will have a good look into this one :( i missed about 4 dailies so i want some compensation for this :(

Couldn't find a little blue exclamation mark on your screen, even though you know you have done all the quests in Storm Peaks?

Turn on low level quest tracking. For the life of me I could not find that NPC till I did.

so as of current time, is this npc supposed to give only 1 daily quest per day? i'm struggling to find information on this whether it's supposed to be 1 or 2 i see different statements from years ago. i've done all the quests needed for all the dailies but have been receiving only 1 quest, just wanted to check if that's normal?

If you're running into a 'bug' where on some days you can't grab a daily from Gretta, try going into the inn (the huts on the other side of the village) and grab whatever quests are left.
From what I can understand, the dailies work on a rotation and if some quests in the village are uncompleted (they are also used as dailies) they will not be available from her as a daily. She can only offer 1 daily per day.
