I can confirm these do drop crystallized shadow, however the drop rate is about 1 in every 5 kills. The good news is they re-spawn extremely fast. The cave is small but fast respawns make sure you never run out.

I recommend leveling your DK here as the bonus of no downtime you can just keep killing till you get bored. Stick a good album on and level while your earning some cash.

EDIT: Also very strange as often in the corners you kill one mob and you can get an instant re-spawn up to 5 times without even moving. I have been farming for about an hour and ended up with 8 stacks of them.

After switching talents to combat i had to test it. So what aren't better than grinding a bit to get used to the new talents. So i went to dragonblight to get some eternal shadow for my LW gear

Total mobs killed: 125

Total crystallized shadows: 40

So that leaves us with (40/125= 0,32) 0,32:2 is 16 so wowhead is very orrect now

And the amount gained from vendor trash is 45 g and 67 s

Incredible respawn rate.

Drop rate is still vastly inferior to controlling Wintergrasp, but it's a nice alternative. The cave is small, but if you're alone they'll start respawning before you've cleared them all. The junk items they drop sell for a decent amount if you keep them all.

Definitely a farmable mob, and easy to grind with roughly 9.4-10K HP.

These guys are awesome for farming Eternal shadows, low hp, and AWESOME respawn rates. And almost no competition, all you'll have is the occasional lowbie Ally coming in, seems they have a quest in here, but other than that, its a one man cave!

Tried these today; total kills: 30. Crystallized Shadow: 0.

I would guess I just had some bad luck. Easy to kill mobs, but discouraging when I had zero drops after 30 kills.

After 30 minutes, i had 50 crystalized shadows. the respawn is fast, and they dont deal alot of dmg, so no downtime at all.

I just want to confirm that this cave is still a great place to farm crystallized shadow. Droprate is not so good, but respawn rate is indeed extremely fast and often they drop 2xcrystallized shards!

In 40 minutes I got 40 crystallized shadows and almost 50g in vendor trash!

I'm farming those, and i think that Blizzard has changed anything. On patch 3.1.1, about 20 of those mobs killed and 0 crystallized shadow dropped

EDIT: 2xCristallized Shadow dropped on the 21th mob xD, and no one on the other 15 mobs after the 21th :'(

I had no problems mining here today. Spent about 25 mins inside and got 30 crystallized shadows. About 20 gold and a few greens.

Increadible respawn rate, killed the same mob 4 times in a row - sooo annoying when you try to loot and attack a newly spawned mob instead ;P

Just wanted to confirm that they will drop the Elemental Armor Scrap (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=42107) for the Jewelcrafting daily. I had to kill about 6 of them, but it dropped.

as an 80 affliction warlock, i do have to say it was boring to farm these... the respawn rate was okay, better than average i would say, but i found myself having to kill as slowly as i could, only fighting one mob at a time

Went to farm these for Crystallized Shadow. I thought the drop rate was not that great. The upside is that half the time it drops, you get two of them. The respawn rate on these guys is phenomenal. And the char I went to farm with was a blood DK with Glyph of Death Grip. So my session was very short despite the above negatives. I also got 19.5 gold in vendor trash (every kill yields SOMETHING) as well as two greens.

So if you don't want to flag for PVP or are just not comfy going to WG when its not yours, this is a fine place to farm for shadow. I got the two Eternal Shadow my tailor needed in about 10 minutes. YMMV depending on how much down time you need. Zero for a blood DK with GoDG.

I cleaned the cave 4 or 5 times, but only got 4 crystallized shadow. Going to wg seems like a better option to me, at least when Alliance has the control. The rest of the loot was good though, made quite a bit of gold on the trash I sold to vendor. So while not ideal, it might be ok to farm those times WG is in horde hands/in battle or you just need a few shadow.

Seems like the respawn for these guys has been nerfed, It would probably be better to look elsewhere for crystallized shadow now.

Edit: Sadly there aren't any other mobs outside of WG that regularly drop crystallized shadow, looks like these guys are it, for better or worse.

Note that you cannot kill these mobs if you are on the quest The Sacred and the Corrupt as the cave is phased.

Excellent place to farm the shadows. They respawn like crazy. I once had 6 spawn one after another in the same spot. I was never able to fully clear the cave out. there was always at least 2 or 3 still in the cave when i finished. In about an hour I farmed 80 shadows, so i was pleased. I would not advise casters or someone who depends on spells to farm these. they silence quite often.

Just cleared the cave 5 times and got 4 Crystallised Shadows. This after going to Wintergrasp and clearing the small mobs as Horde did not control it and getting none there.

Cata 4.3, just took my 85 mage to the cave and ran around for 30 minutes, killed 83 死亡使者亡魄 and got:

17 x 晶化暗影
2 x green items

Respawn rate was great - seemed like no matter how hard I tried I could not kill and loot them all before there were respawns.

If you're desperate from some quick Crystallized/Eternal Shadow, these are the way to go. They respawn real fast which makes up for the low drop rate.
In 10 minutes of killing these, I got 20 Crystallized/2 Eternal Shadow.
