When fighting this guy as an arcane mage, my best bet was just to kill him as fast as I possibly could. Don't bother with the maggots, if you're quick you'll kill him before they have chance to do real harm. Pop all your abilities and trinkets and smash him with all your might! You should have him if you're the appropriate level!

Did this as a rogue at 74 pretty easily (no pots, etc.). I used wound poison and when they spawed I just rotated around so they were in front and used evasion so they weren't hitting me. Immune to stun. He was almost dead by the time he got the worms up.

Soloed as a 74 prot warrior, was surprisingly easy. Popped shield block when I could and just burned him down. If you have damage shield the worms should actually kill themselves without you doing any work.

72 Death Knight - Blood/Frost Multi-Spec - 15612 HP and 15386 Armor (Was using Frost Presence)

Got him to well below 7% and his Maggots kept healing him, I put down Death and Decay but it didn't seem to do much to the Maggots, I used One Health Pot, Rune Tap twice and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44579 but still didn't work, going for another now.

Edit:

Popped all my CD's at the start, used Mark of Blood half when he was on 50% and used Rune Tap and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=44579 as soon as he took a certain amount of my Health down, used Death and Decay and it does kill the Maggots, went down fast and easy this time.

If you're a paladin, retribution aura is recommended.

Also, pretty fast respawn so don't stick around.

I tried Inferno as a destroLock, and used it as a tank and I "owned" him, he died almost instantly

Not incredibly hard, just watch out for the wandering Hyenas. They appeared just as I started the fight and killed me.

For warriors, use Retaliation to quickly kill the maggots. Makes the fight much easier.

Soloed as a lvl 73 feral druid. The trick to killing this guy is to simply kills the adds he spawns or else he will continue to heal. Adds are weak and go down fast but you have to single target kill them aoe doesn't work.

For some reason, Bloodfeast gave me 7,500 xp(rested, at 74), but the other 2 for the same quest only gave around 2800 xp. Bug?

Solo'd as a lvl 72 blood/unholy DK with 86% HP left. Maybe it's cause I killed him fast but only 1 wave of maggots spawned and after reading through the comments it seems they have a high magic resistance so as soon as they spawned I saved my runic power to use Dancing Rune Weapon which 1 hit the maggots and so they didn't do much damage or heal the guy.

So yeah heads up to all blood DKs out there, SAVE YOUR RUNIC POWER to use dancing rune weapon when the maggots spawn.

I soloed him with a balance specced druid. Just summon the trees to attack him. and dotted him with moonfire and insect swarm. And then spam wrath. Easy kill, died in 20sec. The adds wasnt a problem, they had like 740 health points...

On an 80 frost mage, I killed him easily, then saw the maggots and I casted blizzard. Went to Winamp to change a song, and saw myself die xD

Soloed as a level 73 feral druid in Cat form.
Ignore the adds and just go berserk and pop a trinket and watch your health. I had to pop a potion and Survival Instincts, so be ready and don't be surprised to die the first time.

I was a 74 affliction warlock, and considering that AoE does not affect his worms, I died the first time around even though I got him down to 7k, at which I ran outta mana and whilst getting mana from my imp, his hp went up pretty fast and I died.

Then I thought about using the imp and a macro to target and kill adds, but when I saw another warlock mention Inferno, I tried it and it worked like a charm. Awesome dps from that infernal.

76 Frost DK. I had problems with the maggots healing him, so I popped "Raise Dead" and the zombie killed the maggots while I full DPS him down. Icebound fort if you need it, but he went down fast. Well worth the 50 silver for corpse dust.

I soloed this as a 74 tankadin with laughable gear and it was surprisingly the easiest of the 3 magnataur. I jsut used Holy Shield and popped Coren's Lucky coin and the worms gave me no trouble at all.

74 affli warlock. Just got owned by him and i had him down to about 2% but i didnt know that the worms healed him. Now im going to try that infernal. Be back soon to update.
EDIT:
Didn't have the stone for the infernal so i tried something new.
Have void get on him then dot him up. When first wave of worms come just put a Siphon Life on each of them then went back to dpsing the elite. Went down before the 2ed wave came out. Pretty easy that way. :P

As a Holy/Disc Priest, he was easiest of them all.

Make sure yo use your Shadowfiend to kill the Maggot's.

I was level 74 with points in an aggressive Holy build. (Gogo Smite Spec)

Soloed as a lvl 72 Spriest with green gear. Shield up, VT, MB, DP, SW:P, MF --> use shadowfiend on the maggots as soon as he summons them and he was down in no time. Had tried nuking him before but the maggots heal him a good bit so you need to get them down. Happy hunting

Easy soloed as Ele Shammy,first time I popped Earth Elemental Totem + other totems And got PWNT. Second time I killed Him.Just pop your Favorite totems except Fire,Pop Heroism,Cast Lightning Bolt,Pop Fire Elemental,Ignore maggots. And until he is dead,Spam Lightning Bolt/shocks,pretty easy

Soloed as a level 73 frost mage using water elemental, icy veins, and a health pot. I was wearing quest greens and blue from instances.

Molten armor is your friend! The maggots will kill themselves and you should be able to burn him down with relative ease. Use Ice Barrier and wait 40-50 seconds before you pull so the CD is up and you will be able to pop it again as soon as he eats through it. Good luck!

This was done during patch 3.1.0, not 3.0.9.

As a 74 feral druid, I couldn't kill him solo. It was impossible. I either had to completely ignore the maggots, which resulted in him eventually going back up to 100% health from 35% or so, which is what I had him down to prior to him beginning to summon them, or I had to focus on killing maggots to prevent him from healing, and that resulted in him slowly, but eventually, killing me as I was unable to dps him for more than a second or two before more maggots were spawned that I had to attend to. You really need someone to dps him and someone to dps the maggots, or be able to kill him quickly before he summons too many of them. I was unable to do that in bear form, as I just did not do enough damage (maggots are immune to swipe or it would have been easy), and unable to do it in cat form as I took too much damage and had to stop to heal, which resulted in taking too long to kill him. My gear is reasonably good for level 74, so I'd suggest that if you're in the same boat as me, you find a partner or wait until you level up some more. That will save you 15 minutes of frustration trying to down him solo with different strategies that ultimately fail.

I just solo'd him as a lvl 72 DK. I had tried about 5 times just standing there and trying to AoE the maggots (didn't work). What I found to work, and eventually did this, was to run when he started casting. The maggots spawn one at a time, and will come after you before he will, giving you some time to fight them while he's not hitting you. It also gives you some ranged time to attack them before they can get you and heal him.

Key is to avoid taking damage from the maggots.

Really easy for a lvl 75 MB hunter with tanking pet.
First time I died because I ignored all the adds and they kept comming for me.
2nd attempt I just killed the adds as well when they were at the boss.
The boss actually didn't do a lot of dmg.

solo'd pretty easy as a 73 arcane mage. opened up with arcane blast and slow, and go all out, by the time he gets to you he'll start summoning his little maggots, kept attacking till he finished casting and he was already at >25%. blinked away, renewed slow and finished him off kiting.

I soloed him as a 72 bm hunter this quest posed as a challenge, because the adds he spawn are immune to aoe which made my pets thunderstomp useless so i would pull and he would get healed because i would not be able to dps the adds, In the end i found a strategy that worked fine
blow all cooldowns at the beginning then when he spawns add put a Snake trap in front of you the snakes will attack the adds and kill them. Hope this helps hunters

Really easy boss when you are ret paladain .

did it solo as lvl 72 . have ret aura, bom , seal of marty on . and just kill him . when adds comes kill them fast and back to him again . and then he is almost dead.

75 Aff/Demo lock. He killed me twice b4 I thought to look it up, and then swore up a storm when I realized the maggots don't take AoE damage. So the last time, I threw in my felguard, dotted him up, then incinerated the hell out of him. He turned to aggro on me at my last incinerate, but him hitting me barely took anything off of my life. Then my felguard turned on to the maggots, only had about 2 hitting me and 2 at a time doesn't kill. =)

Elemental Shaman's will definitely want to use Fire Elemental for this one. First time I tried I used Earth Elemental (after I pulled, so that may have something to do with it) and died. Didn't even have to use Heroism or heal. Just burning the main guy down is the best way to go.

73 Feral Druid. I was able to solo when I attacked him in cat form. Start off by using ravage then FFF. Follow up with mangle, then when he spawns blood worms alt tab and use mangle until the worms are dead. Use tiger's fury when you are low on energy and Barkskin, and Survival Instincts as needed.

I cannot solo him as a bm hunter..His adds are immune to AoE/taunt effects, and with the lack of burst from being bm his adds heal him constantly to full. :(

My lvl 73 Holy Paly cant solo him, my dps is so low that i cant kill him fast enough and the maggots damge me and heal him back up to full

76 feral druid. A bit overlevled yes, but I thought I should mention my experience anyways. Heard he wasn't stunnable, so I popped berserk, ravaged him, then just spammed mangle, ferocious bite whenever possible, tiger's fury whenever possible and got him down quite fast. Might be smart to pop savage roar first if you've got it, the last 3-4K of his HP took the most time. Used my Lifebloom, but I didn't have to pot or anything else, just pewpewpew'd him down.

74 DK in 2h frost tank spec.

He was the easiest of the bunch.

The maggots can be dodged/parried, thus activating Rune Strike, which can be used on the magnetaur himself. For me Rune Strike was lit up the entire fight. I had well over 60% health by the time he died, didn't burn any cooldowns, not a big deal.

Did with a 72 spriest, just made sure to have sheild up and use shoadowfiend to kill maggots. He wasnt able to heal himself at all.

I switched to aspect of the beast and melee'd him so the maggots where always in range of my pet as I spammed him. No pots easy as pie.

While Iceshatter and Drakegore gives you 1,4k exp at 75 with 10% exp shoulders(2,8 with full rested), Bloodfeast gave me 3,7k(+ rested=7,4k).

So basically, Bloodfeast gives you more than twice the exp than the other similar elites (Bonesunder gave about 900(1,8k when rested)).

this quest is a giant pain in the ass for hunters, bloodworms confirmed immune to volley and multi shot

Also confirmed immune to explosive trap, i was luckily able to kill him by popping all my trinkets, rapid fire, bestial wrath, and blood fury. Just attempted to take out as many magets as possible then when he got to about 5k targetted him and got a 4k kill shot crit, form there just shot him down

Soloed with a 72 BM Hunter, without going for training at 72 and still with leveling build ( I could spend points in a different way to dish out more dps ). Pretty easy fight: pet on him, Bestial Wrath, trinket for 200ap of pet, Kill Command, mend pet when needed, you concentrate on worms one by one and lay down a few traps like Explosive Trap or Snake Trap and let the pet do the rest of the job. Pet was a Devilsour with a dps build without Lick Your Wounds tree. For a tank build fight would be even easier, but you will have to do it in an opposite way: let the pet deal with worms, you go dps at Bloodfeast.

Edit: gear - green from questing at Northrend with stacking of Attack Power ( 1700 ).

Thought this would be a $%^&* with a warlock even with dual spec.

AoE does not work on maggots so can't fire them off that way anymore.

I came to think about it, and came up with this idea that worked perfectly :)

Use your Voidwalker ! When the maggots spawn and hits it, they won't get blood, and he won't get healed. Should buy you a ton of time to finish him off. Btw. If thats not enough, sacrifice VW just before he dies, which gives you a shield that absorbs maggot damage and, thereby, does not heal him :)

i am a bm hunter so i just popped all my pets dmg cds at the beggining of the fight and kept mend pet up constantly while i focused completely on the worms. it took me about 4 minutes to kill him this way

Very, very easy as a level 74 balance druid in quest greens. Pop treants, put up moonfire and insect swarm, cast starfall and all you have to do is moonfire the maggots. His health will drop really fast and you won't even get time to cast a wrath!
