There seems to be a direct corellation between the number of people with the Phase Shift buff and the number of Phase Wyrms. Yesterday I spent about an hour at the landing killing these and only found about one every five minutes but I was the ONLY one out on the landing. Today, I shared the landing with three or four others and was finding them much faster 1-2 minutes between. I am going to try and find a group to go out and farm five of the phase shift items to see if it goes up more when they are out.

I would guess that the drop in wyrms is due to the lack of people going out and doing this quest. On my server, daily activity other than the island has all but gone away in large numbers.

The numbers of phase wyrms has been hugely, drasticaly reduced.

Edit In fact they are there when you phase but then they themselves phase out imediately
Edit On the ptr these are back in farmable quantities, possibly with a slightly upgraded animation

Not sure why, But I got plethora of these fellows going around when gathered my mana cells
So I decided to farm a few and there just was more to farm on... odd, their spawnrate must have been greatly increased which is only good, previously mana motes were rare and hard to farm, pity that palas have little use for primal manas now, except crafring fireguard etc.

Spent a half hour looking for these in the area given by the map above but didn't see a single one. Maybe only appears if you have the related quest(s)?

There's a part of me that wishes mana wyrms were tameable beasts :(

This Beast is now Tamable, as of Legion's pre-patch.

The abilities are very basic, currently having no unique abilities as of patch 7.0.3.

This quest has been fixed.

I just completed it and tamed this mob.

Tamable. Unique summoning animation when summoned (a little bit of mana/lightning crackles, no sound).

Probably the only beast in the game that has a summon animation still. Quite odd. Hope it's not removed. It's quite nice and very subtle.
