The frost oil from this recipe is apparently rather good for solo'ing Viscidus for the pet. Without frost damage, he won't drop below 1hp. I have a fist weapon on my rogue from Tempest Keep (Phoenix one) that I kept for transmog that is the right level, apparently, you just need frost damage to finish him, so if you can somehow swap, great. If not, just use the weapon that has it on it, and down him that way, with the frost damage.

My husband said he uses it for that boss, other sources suggested an enchant, but the oil is probably easier when you have an alchemist. And a little less permanent.

When I get the darn recipe, I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes- I just want the pet! Then one more pet from there, and I'll be done in there, unless I want extras.

EDIT: Frost oil worked a charm on a fist weapon from Tempest Keep I picked up for transmog. Just auto attacked him down, and the procs worked great.

Not recommended for hunters, as a hunter friend of mine tried and failed. But useful for any melee class.

My Experience:

Bro'kin Still sells the recipe .. I arrived to the Ruins of Alterac at almost 8:15 pm server time. I had to wait to around 4 mins and I could buy the recipe. Just to check on the respawn of it I spent 51 mins to get another one and then waited around 20 mins and got another one so YES the respawn timer is still RANDOM !

** New players if you want his exact Coords he is on the wall standing next to a broken entrance (44.06.21.78). The location marked on the map it exactly where you can find him. YOU always make it easier by typing and put a target marker on him and look for him.

As with almost everything rare now, you can use the group finder to realm hop and find the recipe on another server

It doesn't need confirming, but as of today, he continues to sell Frost Oil and potions in limited quantity.

Showed up at the spawn site and Bro'kin is there but the only thing in his inventory is Crystal Vials. No recipes, no mana potions.

He only has crystal vials as a non alchemist. at least for me.

He's in Ruins of Alterac in Hillbrad Foothills, next to the middle tower on a wall that is near Lordamere Lake (next to Undercity-Silverpine Forest). He doesnt always have the recipe in stock.
