My coordinates mod isn't working, but they're found west of Forge Camp Hate and Fear in the area known as Twilight Ridge (with the druid flight form NPC Watcher Elaira) I managed about 3 Cobra Scales out of my first 11 or 12, but 0 for about the next 20 skins or so. Your mileage may of course vary, but the drop rate seems rather poor as I finished up with 7 in nearly 2 hours of killing. Easy farm though in terms of risk.

10 dropped for me in 1hour30mins or so. Very decent drop rate, good respawn rate and absolutely no risk of adds.

Got 6 in about 2 hours of farming in a continuous circle (had to wait for respawns). Coilskar is a little better, but Twilight Ridge is definitely quieter.

Make room in your bags if you plan on farming these--the scales and fangs they drop normally only stack up to 5, meaning they can fill up your slots very quickly if you don't destroy them.

i tried those today ( july 25) .. dunno it might be my luck but i killed 5 and got 2 for the cobrahide leg armor :D

Just to clarify something (which I didn't really get in the beginning, lol): You'd want to farm this at the eastern end of Twilight Ridge, the lighter part. The western part is filled with elite mobs, which is why I got a bit surprised at first :)

These are probably the single best mobs for cobrascale farming. There's a fair number of them in a small area, they drop powder if you're still after anything, and if you do it by the wild sparrowhawks, you will not have to worry about any other mobs-- the sparrowhawks flee when you get close.

Depending on the price of cobra scales on your server, this mob could be the single most lucrative thing to farm for skinners. Good respawn rate, no chance of aggroing adds, and the area is usually abandoned on my server so there's no competition. Easy to make 400g+ an hour farming these things.

Grinded these mobs for an hour and killed 84 of them, and drops where:
13 Cobra Scales (14%)
30 Knothide Leather and 109 Scraps
1 greenie and junk items for 19g.
Also got 17 Powder Samples.

Great place for a hunter to farm. Since they arent hostile, they turn up yellow on the mini map with Track Beast on, so very easy to spot!

I grinded these mobs for an hour and a half and killed 122 of them, and drops where:

9 Cobra Scales (7,3%)

55 Knothide Leather and 135 Knothide Leather Scraps

2 Green items and 2 Grey

104 Iridescent Scale

18 Envenomed Fang

And 18 Crystal Powder Samples

They spawned pretty quick and the birds around only flees away from you. Bad drop rate but better then nothing...

You know, it seems common that any place that's labeled a "hot spot" for anything generally gets swamped. Nagrand is constantly surrounded by cloud-chasers and ore-seekers, not to mention the Elemental Plateau, yet for the year or so I've played WoW, I have never seen anyone consistently farming cobra scales.

The droprate on these are quite "bursting", at least for me, I know the droprate is 10% because it says so on Wowhead, but seriously, I can go around for 20 minutes and kill snakes like there was no tomorrow and not get a single drop, then I get three of them in a row.

I guess that's what they call "probability", but it can be annoying sometimes.

Well anyway, this place is great for grinding, I go here with my hunter a lot and I've found a good route to kill all the snakes at the eastern part from south to north, then go through the cave at the northern part, kill the two snakes just outside there and then fly close to the mountain that divides the eastern part and the "twilight" part and killing off any of the snakes I find that, with proper positioning, won't risk your wellbeing.

The amount of snakes on the western side that you can kill without aggro any of the elites are around 7-8, but I usually go for 6 or so because the snakes on the eastern side respawn really fast.

I farmed off these guys as a 75 BM hunter just wanting to get a good amount of gold in a short time,(Epic flying training and such). I got about 10 scales in 2 hours and they sold for 30g each so easy 300g. I found one about every 30 seconds(Cobra i mean) or so and could down one in under 20 with DPS pet (Cat), the blue bow they are able to drop, and arcane and kill shots. When it came to the camp of elites i didnt worry about them cus i was night elf (Shadowmeld IN combat =D)

So if your planning to farm scales here......your best bet it to max out skinning to 450 (Grandmaster) and get to around 73-80 to bring em down extreamly fast. GL ^_^

Why are all the good pets un-tamable? Every time I find a Beast that looks so cool, I could name tons, Blizzard must hate hunters, even with the Mend Pet nerf...

You no longer have to wait until level 68/70 to get to them (as a previous comment stated).
Yes, I know nearly everyone knows, but Expert Riding can now be purchased at level 60.

Some of the drops from Twilight Serpent included Rusted Musket and a green item "Murkblood Boots of the Invoker". After 39 kills, I got 4 Cobra Scales (usually got Knothide Leather) from skinning.

I am a lvl64 shammy, that need some cobra scales, and im gonna stay in lvl64.. so my max skinning skill will be 350, is that high enough to skin those cobra's and get the cobra scales? thx :)

It saddens me that these are not tameable. Cobras look ridiculous. I want a normal-looking snake as a pet.

I received upon skinning, not looting, 14 眼鏡蛇鱗 in 30 minutes. While also herbing. Druid flight style.

Edit: Yield as I keep at it. I'm done. I see it's nice.
