As a level 80 picking up leatherworking, using the guide i found that after finishing the knothide armor kit phase (ending around 330-335 skill) these were the best mobs to use to finish outlands tier leatherworking. They drop primarily knothide leather (you need roughly 215 to finish outlands leatherworking) and will provide more than enough fel scales during the process to make the scaled draenic boots. Additionally they provide apexis shards which can be used to summon the dragons of the blade's edge plateau which drop multiple knothide leather, speeding up the process.

I'm skinning these pretty boars to finish up outland leatherworking... also hoping to find a level 68 or 69 one to tame - no luck at all. I'm nearly positive these guys only come in level 70-71 unless there are a crop of them somewhere that's not shown on the map here.

Just tamed one of these. They have a unique skin and are not commonly seen for hunter pets, so if you like to be unique , get one of these! :)

No longer unique in upcoming Patch 5.1. Rare spawn, Crystalhide, will be added that uses the same exact appearance. He will spawn in Searing Gorge, around where the Glassweb Spiders are.

Not sure if this is a pre-WoD patch bug or CRZ but I tried farming these for fel scales today and they despawn about 65% of the time when I try to skin them. Submitted a bug ticket.

I don't understand why there are coordinates for these as being near Ogri-La. I have never found a single boar in the Ogri-La area, just nether rays. The only place I've found these is on top and to the right of the word "Spine" in "The Crystal Spine", along with a cool looking warp stalker if you want one of those too.

Don't waste your time looking near Ogri-La, they aren't found there.
