Best way to tame him is to tame one of the level 70 cats outside the cave and use all the way into the cave. He is guarded by two other 70-71 cats. Ice trap him and kill the two others, sacrifice your pet and feign.

Then tame him the easy way of ice trap and tame beast!

I grabbed him and yes, although he has no stats, he looks cool. :-)

Seems that our fellow people in Blizzard has moved this Hawkbane and wont tell us where it has been moved to ive talked to a GM and he cant say where its moved to but its still in the game for our hunters who like to have it as pet like me. Its not really possable after this patch... But please make a comment if you find out where he is :)

I got a hold of a GM about his whereabouts, and as usual he did not give me a straight answer. Although what I noticed is that he said Hawkbane is not only still in the game, but he spawns at multiple locations. When I asked him if it's in Outland or Azeroth, he replied, "I cannot divulge that information." I hope this helps as I am also looking to tame Hawkbane.

talked to a gm today altough i already have 1 i wanted a second one for high armor rather then high stam but seems he's gone, unles someone can confirm he's still there since patch 2.1?

For the rumor's going around saying that hawkbane has been removed from the game, I can confirm that you are wrong, I talked to a GM today, I was told that he is still there.

Patch 2.1 removed Hawkbane from the game, but I am not sure if 2.2 placed him back in. GM's have been saying he is still in the game since he was removed from the cave, but no one has found him.. Anywhere. If anyone can confirm he is actually back, with an SS of his location, please do so!

Edit: @Slashamasha your second screenshot does not capture the GM actually saying that Hawkbane exists, and your first's GM uses improper grammar, which I find rare. Both of these leads me to assume you faked them, though the reason unknown.

who knows maybe GM can make gramatical errorrs also but that second SS is kinda weaird because he usually say some witty and "funny" farewell and this was kinda lame.

yes... hawkbane has been removed from the game, i was on my way to tame him and did not see him at all.....to bad he looked cool, and he was the only 70 white cat. but maybe just on my realm....good luck to you all.

Hawkbane returns to the game! He will lose his elite status but will now be a rare spawn.

Just killed him at a graveyard in skettis, dropping x4 gnarled claws, right in the corner where skettis bordered shadowmoon valley, he is still a rare spawn (silver dragon nameplate)

He is no longer in the cave, but in Mid-East behind the "Upper" part in Skettis. He's behind a building and spawns around 3 dead arakkoa. Hope this helps! I had a difficult time finding the spot before the pin was added to the map here.

Respawns in about 10 minutes. Exact same spot in Skettis, doesn't move. ALSO, he's not considered a rare for Medium rare/Bloody rare achievement. And he rarely drops anything good. Killed him 10 times or so and mostly just drops grey crap. I've gotten one random enchant green so far. He does give about 15k-ish xp at lvl 66-69 (I'm BC capped, so not sure what'd be at 70).

Oddly enough, the "dead" arakkoa show up as living with Track Humanoid (Skettis Talonite). That can be used to find the site.

Found him on the eastern end of Skettis today. For those using coordinates, I found him at 76.4, 81.1. As someone else already stated, there were three dead arakkoa on the ground surrounding him, and the lot of them were all behind one of the arakkoa huts. The location is somewhat hard to find initially as it hidden somewhat on the skirts of Skettis.

Confirmed spawned at 76,81, just like the map shows. I noticed him by accident today while farming Shat'ari Skyguard rep on a different (non-hunter) toon, so I immediately switched over to my hunter and got there from Orgrimmar as fast as I could, afraid that someone might beat me to the punch!

Ran into him just a few minutes ago, actually. Right there eating the bird guys. Thought it was somebody's pet until I got closer. Pretty thing. Almost wish my character was a hunter :*(

Aside from being tamed as a hunter pet, is there any particular reason this mob is in the game? It's rather unusual for a rare mob like that to drop only grays, which is all I've gotten every time I've killed him.

Is there, perhaps, a quest tied to him? The more I see him when doing Skyguard dailies, the more curious I become.

Confirmed that he's still there. The screenshots helped a lot to find him. He's exactly where the point is on the map, right on the outskirts of Sketis where it turns to mountains. There are 3 dead arrokoa there as well as a totem right behind a building.

Patch 5.4.1
Spawn point confirmed (the upper part of Skettis where the three dead arakkoa are). Tamed him this morning with my 76 alt 9:05am server (Sen'Jin). Logged in standing at 76.4,81 and he was right there in front of me.
