One of the best pets I have ever had.

When I would farm I would always use a Boar because charge would gain about 1.2k aggro once he hit the target.

Never thought to use an Owl but I thought what the heck I'll try it. I have to say the screech, dive; claw combo really holds the aggro well. as well or better than a boar because an owl does more DPS.

Dive sends the bird in nice n fast like charge. There is no 1 sec stun though so you need to let the bird get to the target then fire. Screech must cause aggro somehow because this crazy bird gains crazy aggro. Mine has about 1.2k at the first contact.

I hate the flapping as much as I hate the pop a gun makes and screech makes ALOT of noise and would prob drive your tank nuts so I would use this pet more for solo and PVP. Driving casters crazy sounds good to me =p

They only eat meat so fishing is out...seems dumb they should eat fish.

So if your looking for a good DPS pet that can hold good aggro you may want to try out and owl.

My Blood Elf Hunter got one of these, on a roleplay realm even.
If you are horde and you are in dire need of one of these i can tell you what i did to accomplish this.
I walked to Orgrimmar, picked the Zeppelin to Thunder Bluff, and ontop of a hill close to Xroads i jumped off, took the path to Ashenvale and walked the road to the Troll village at Zoram strand, from there you can swim to Darkshore as there aint alot of waterborne monsters there, the tricky part might be gettin on the boat to Ruther'an Village, but dont worry the Lake Trashers will help you!
If you get killed by one of these in the water below the boat or somewhere close to the dockin area, you can easily walk the docks as a ghost and ressurect on a safe place on the boat, no guards or anything, do ressurect when boat is about to set sail however.
When you get to Darnassus you can easily go the sides throu the water to avoid most guards.

These Bird's of Prey is level 5-6 so Taming one shouldnt be any challenge.
Don't listen to Blackbeast or Fishdert, these birds Dont have Screech they Got Snatch.
If you are after Screech you should look on the Carrion Birds list.

Strigid Owl:
* Talent Tree: Cunning
* Focus Dump: Claw
* Diet: Meat, Fish
* Damage: 5%
* Armor: 5%
* Health 5%

Special Abilities:
* Snatch - Snatch
* Claw - Claw

Pulling one of these Strigid Owls next to the mounted night elf-patrol that travels the road next to Dolanaar will cause them to "freak out". Me and my friend found this bug accidentally, and it apparently doesn't work with the nearby Nightsabers (=cats) or Webwood Lurkers (=spiders). It was pretty intriguing to see and do, and we decided to take some audiovisual footage of it, we took approximately 3 minutes of recording of this bug with Fraps and uploaded it to YouTube for your entertainment.

I pulled the owl to the patrol with Shadow Word: Pain, but I do not know whether or not it matters what attack you pull the bird of prey to the unsuspecting night elves - but guaranteed to work with that spell, and quite sure it works with all DoT-spells + regular attacks aswell. Someone can reply to this comment and confirm that if possible.

And now to the main bit of this comment; the video itself.

World of Warcraft NPC Interaction Bug (Teldrassil)

Try it out yourself and see if you get any different results - we didn't try to see what happens if it is possible to "pull" the patrol with some help from the Strigid Owl, as we were simply flabbergasted by the awesomeness of the bug. A reply about that would be very cool to hear too!

巨翼梟 are one of the lowest tameable flying pets in a game. Most hunters avoid them as they were pretty noisy, but they had a nice special ability back in Lich King of charge and stun.

They are not hostile, much like most of the boars in the game. There are 11 of them east of Dolanaar to north of Starbreeze Village. You can find 7 more south of Starbreeze, and 10 more flying from west to south of Dolanaar.

There is only 1 quest that requires you kill them. 賽恩的要求 requires 2 巨翼梟的羽毛. The drop rate is very high, about 50%?
They also 小蛋 which is needed for 3 of the Wintervale recipes. The drop rates aren't that bad, and during Wintervale the eggs sell for a nice profit.
