Guaranteed green drop, but this guy can take a lot of beating, not to mention the Scarlet Workers you'll get on your tail too. Combat swords rogue, 6/8 T3, AQR + CTS, barely got him down using all cooldowns.

Of course it helps if you can use some sort of crowd control on the adds while slowly pulling the Smith more further away.

Easy solable by a mage. Btw he have good fire protection, its like inner dampen magic, so fire blast hits like for 150. Usually drops bs plans and some green.

I believe this mob is near the lumber mill in Hearthglen of the Western Plaguelands. I'm not entirely sure, though, but I think I remember seeing him there once before. I'll try finding him to get a map up for you all.

Solo'd him with my 70 prot warrior. Just concentrated on downing him so I could loot the plans and then I just took off - no sense taking a chance one of his helpers would run and agro the field of elites right next to the smithy. They did, too, but not till I'd gotten a good lead on them, HAHAHA. Better to run off with my new plans and a nice leather greenie (something of the monkey) than to stick around and get PWN'd by a bunch of scarlet elites with some nasty knockdowns and holy damage.
*I've seen this guy (or another rare elite) in the lumber mill in Hearthglen, too, but took him out in/near the Smithy - he ran out when he got low on health, didn't do him any good though.

This guy is now found to the west of Northridge Lumber Mill, amidst Rabid Foxes.

He's very easy to kill, and drops a green.

The Scarlet Smith is one of the few remaining living Scarlet Crusade members left in the Western Plaguelands.

Interestingly enough, the Scarlet Smith can be both male and female and will vary in skin colour and hair colour/style. It appears that the profession of smith was rather represented with the Scarlet Crusade.

The Scarlet Smith can be found in one of two locations. One location is near a pair of ballistas at the beginning of the road leading up to Hearthglen. The second location is near a broken ballista, just north the Mender's Stead. He or she appears to be salvaging it. He shares a spawn point with the Scarlet Executioner

Upon confrontation, he will yell: "Abbendis will return, and I will be waiting for her! SHE WILL COME BACK FOR US!"

CATACLYSM 4.3.2 (15211).
Was found at exactly 53.9,44.1.
Right in front of destroyed Ballista.
I am after the pattern, which he did not drop.
He instead dropped and 22 Silver, 24 copper.
I'll post later to state how many kills it took to get the needed pattern.
