There are six Sethekk Ravenguards in the instance: they come in pairs, the first two immediately after the first boss (Darkweaver Syth) and the others are posted by doorways in the next couple of rooms.

Killing these is the only way to get Pattern: Stylin' Crimson Hat (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25731). If you're looking to farm it, good luck.

In heroic mode, they are immune to CC.

In heroic mode, these NPC's hit like a truck. Either bring two healers or kite one.

When one dies, the other enrages. Not immune to stuns in heroics, so it is advisable for the tank to stun one (hammer of justice, bash, or concussive blow) if tanking both. Healing aggro may be an issue if tanking both in heroic mode.

Kiting the second one seems to be the best idea, but will require the kiter to put out a decent amount of threat as the first one will still be hitting the tank hard enough to warrant a lot of heals.

Heroic:

If you have a feral druid DPS guy, these pulls are a lot easier. Just have the druid OT first DPS target (in tank gear, don't try it in DPS gear), and then go kitty to help DPS second target. Save disarm/concussion blow until after first target is dead and second enrages, that's when they get really scary.

Druids are great in here anyway:

1) they can summon Anzu
2) they actually can CC in here a lot, with hibernate on the birds
3) for OTing these psycho ravenguards

Not immune to entangling roots.

Longer story: my friend decided to get the Druid swift flying form through quest not from trainer. We went in 3 people, he as tank (lvl 74 Druid), me as healer (lvl 72 Druid) and another friend on lvl 74 Mage. Still I had troubles healing the tank when he tried to tank them both. Mage said she can't sheep those mobs. On the next encounter I asked, are they immune to roots either. The tank said "let me try it". And they were perfectly rootable. As a second Druid, I could reroot them when the tank was busy in bear form.

So any Druids willing to face Anzu before level 80, remember you have a situational, but sometimes great cc.

And fighting Anzu was an epic moment, sincerely not worth skipping.

As a priest, you're pretty much out of luck with these guys. Currently my strategy is to put up Power Word: Barrier, wait for the weakened soul debuff to disappear, then nuke the crap out of one. If you need to shield again (you will), drop some dots on the next one, spam flash heal until you're able to Power Word: Shield again and finish the second one off.

If you only get one down and die, just run back and Vampiric Touch + Shadow Word: Pain and then Mind Flay spam until he's dead.

Edit: At level 81, these guys become an absolute joke once priests get mind spike. Just DoT one, mind spike the other, /rofl

At level 85 these guys are obviously no problem. Despite the fact that they hit like trucks on steroids still, your increased health pool is more than enough.

My first run farming Anzu and these guys ahead... Felguard goes in and goes down in 5 seconds, they kill me and I rage.

These hit like a truck on heroic, even on plate.

I play a pally and go ret for this instance, and the best way to deal with these is to cast exorcism from afar, pop wings once they are in melee range of you and mow them down asap. Use your holy power to heal yourself (word of glory)...just kill them very, very quickly.

Frustrating trash for solo shadow priest but the way i kill them is as follows:

Stand as far back, have inner armor and pw: shield on, plus buffs of course.

Target one and summon shadowfiend and hit him with vt and sw:p.
Tab to the second one and put vt, sw:p, devouring plague and mindflay.

Always be ready to dispersion and heal. When you have to heal use mending and refresh and shield as much as you can.

these guys are ^&*!ing sick. I am a lvl 80 full relentless geared warrior with full epic offsets. They hit me for 21-22k per hit and they hit fast, meaning its impossible to take out a pair of these. You kill one, die, come back, kill the other etc.

As of 5/16/23, the Stylin' Crimson Hat still drops. The first time doing Sethekk Halls on my Leatherworker, it drops from the first pair. There are 6 of these enemies, three pairs after each boss. I don't know the drop rate, but it didn't take me too long.

While the other hat recipes dropped the first or second time I ran the place, this one just doesn't want to drop. I ran this place like 40 times now...
