Solo'd (70 Warrior - Fury/Prot); After you summon him make sure Battle Shout is up, hit him a few times. Pop Last Stand + Recklessness + Death Wish. Have fun. =)

The knock back did damage (~1000) but didn't knock me back, maybe I resisted it. Hit me for about 500-650 Dual Weilding. My gear is decent...

Pretty simple quest (because I forgot to do it before). =P

Managed to solo him with my Druid at 66.

I positioned myself with my back to the hill, (not sure which direction it was, but behind the hill was the path I went up to get to him). When he knocked me back I landed on the hill and did not die.

From there, I was able to heal myself to full as he ran down the path to get me, and effectively let me restart the fight, but with him at 50% health.

Lucky sure, but done.

3-manned with a 68 Rogue, 69 Warlock and 67 Paladin. Had the Warlock enslave one of the elite Felguard Legionnaires from the nearby Forge Camp and used that to tank. Didn't even get any of us knocked back.

I tried soloing this as a 70 ret paladin.
Got him down to 10%, then he knocked me off the mountain.

I had very little mana left so i dont know i would have made it.

Got a warrior to help, healed him till i was out of mana, used a small mana potion and took over tanking till gurok died.

Soloed as a 70 druid.The trick here is to bear tank him with your back against the rock pillar on the left of the circle (it's a bit on the far left when you get there), that way you don't get kicked around like a beachball and you take no fall DMG.

Soloed as 67 warlock. All you need to do is Enslave a Felguard Legionnaire (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17152) and then mount up to the summoning circle and summon then kill. Pet hits for about 900 only hard part is if you get unlucky and the Enslave breaks mid fight.

Two things: You do consume the skulls when you summon him, so make sure you're ready.
Also, he is immune to crowd control and movement slowing effects, so make sure you can kill him without them.

Easy as a warlock. Just collect your 7 skulls, then run down the hill to the forge camp and enslave one of the elite demons with 35k hp. Quickly run back up the mountain, summon Gurok and kill him while your pet tanks him.

Soloable by a level 70 disc/holy priest with not that great gear. I had +1583 healing and 7321 HP. Only did the quest since I am working on $$ for my epic flyer and doing all quests I haven't completed. :)

Gurok hits for around 950-1200 on cloth, fairly slow attack.
He also walks reasonably slow, so it's possible to kite him around between players reasonably well.

We had not trouble downing him with 2x68firemage and 69shammy (dps + a few heals)

Soloed as LvL 70 Holy Pally in blues. Buffed with Masters Elixer (+15 all stats), Blessing of Kings, Well fed + 15 stamina buff, Devotion Aura, and Strength of Halaa zone damage buff.

Wasn't too tough, just stood with my back against a pillar, normal grinding routine. Redoubt talent skill was nice as I was able to get a few blocks with my shield. I needed about 6-7 Holy Lights on myself and a bubble, never had to use Lay on Hands or a mana pot.

I find the enslave demon strategy hard, because they keep getting free of the spell on my way back to Warmaul hill.

So i think best thing to do is to find a group. just 2 DPS is needed

You CAN solo him at level 70 if you have blues in majority, see a few epics. Feral druids, bring up your tanking set again! It shouldn't be too hard as there will be a 5-8 second delay for him to appear once you summon him, giving you time to get into bear and use enrage.

DO NOT feral charge into him at first. Keep it. Now, just use the basic soloin' tactic. If he knocks you back, rocket bear into him. The first time mine was on cooldown (charged at first; looks cooler) so my health got halved, and came to 5% of my health before I killed him, having to heal (that heal got outDPSed in seconds :\ he hits HARD).

He can get hard to kite down to a wall because he likes to use entangling roots on you.

Solo'd as a lvl 68 BM Hunter in mostly blues (purple goggles). 1385 Atk Power.

Send your pet in with a Mend running. Blast the hell out of Gurok, pull agro off pet a couple times, just barely, to give pet some heal time while Gurok is running back and forth. Feign death. Lay into him again til dead. Popped one Super Health Potion for good measure, but didn't need to. Keep Mend running on pet at all times. Pretty easy.

Went back today with my 70 feral druid and soloed this with ease.
I didn't even have to pop Frenzied Regen while doing it.
There are two poles sticking out of the ground around the outer
perimeter of the ring where he is summoned.
Immediately upon using the skulls to summon him, I shifted
to Dire Bear and put my tail squarely on one of those poles.

After that it was a pretty simple tank n' spank.
Keep faerie fire and demoralizing roar on at all times
and keep at it. He only has 22k hp so he goes down pretty quickly.

Solo'd as a 70 Resto shaman in all blues, except S2 Helm and some DPS bracers from Kara (935 +healing, 454 +dmg, 9.54% crit before talents). Put my Fire ele out right away and earth shielded it, and kept water shield on myself. Didn't really need much more than Mana Spring otherwise, just kept my ele healed up. Also threw some Lightning Bolts at Gurok himself when I wasn't getting interrupted when he stomped.

Overall, not a difficult fight, but I might suggest tossing the elemental out as soon as the summon is done, because Gurok will appear and aggro about 5 seconds after it's complete.

Easily doable at 69 as an enhancement shaman. Make sure your cooldown is up on your Earth Elemental and let him tank for you. Just keep an eye on his health, you many have to heal him every now and then (which is trivial with Maelstrom Weapon). You might have to hold back on damage just a little, I pulled aggro a couple times. Oh, and of course use other totems and spirit wolves.

HE's easy to solo for lvl 67 dk with blood/unholy talent. just put mark of blood on it. summon your ghoul and use runetap and a potion from the ring of blood quests. Good luck friends.

Back up to the one of the walls, and just hit him with everything you have. You might have to IBF or summon your ghoul, but otherwise an easy fight.

As a Blood/unholy 66 DK so easy.....I didn't use Rune Tap, IBF,MoB or Vampiric B. Just apply diseases and had to use death strike only 1-2 times.

Solo'd as a 67 Holy Pally, mostly group geared was pretty tough fight. Used Judgement of Light and Consecration along with my pathetic melee dps and saved Holy Shock as a self heal. Burn all your cooldowns, lolbubble and LoH and you could do it. For the knockback......he didnt do it often, only once for me. Tip: Put your back to the jagged piece of rock so when he does knock you back, you hit the wall and dont fall off. GL

Soloed as a fairly well geared 66 ret pally. Used a 2h, Seal of Command (didn't want to risk killing myself with Seal of the Martyr), and just spammed Judgement of Light, Divine Storm, and Crusader Strike. Used Art of War procs whenever I got them. I had to bubble and heal, didn't need LoH. I didn't heal at all aside from the instant FoLs and the one HL when I was bubbled. I don't like pushback. :)

It was easier than I expected, but make sure to keep your back to a pillar to avoid his knockback.

Went and god skulls as a lvl 67 blood death knight, almost killed me a couple times.
Had to use a couple rune taps and used a super healing potion once, i had my back up to one of the cages up there so i did not get blown off the cliff and used a dancing rune weapon, he was hard.

This is a very hard elite indeed. Tried to solo him with a 67 prot warr, only managed to get him to 40%. Then I brought my main to help and took him down easily. He dropped a cloak that isn't listed there. Cloak of the craft

I guess I was extremely lucky, but this is a hard one. Unless you're a DK/druid/paladin you should bring with a friend.

Mega easy at 67 on Enhancement Shaman. Back yourself between the two cages, pop up Earth Elemental Totem and Wolves. He is not immune to Nature damage like you'd think, so fling everythting you got at him, didn't even need to heal, he went down fast.

This is easily soloable by a 66+ warlock(demo)... First summon him, while u have your void out, Right when ur finished summoning, Sac your void for his shield, and fel dom out a felgaurd, Have your felguard tank while you blow him up(Very helpful if u have a healthstone), OR you can curse of doom something so a doomguard appears, enslave that and same strat.

Summon him at the purple circle at the top of the hill. I soloed this as a 73 fire mage, and it was quite hard. Used Combustion and Mana Shield, and just Fireballed him all the way. He's immune to the knockback of Blast Wave, btw.

Everyone so far has been 70 this or a DK or protection spec.

Combat rogue, 68. He hits for about 15% of your life per swing, and has roots and knockback. Pop yourself against the rocks and blow your heavy combat cooldowns with Evasion, making sure SnD is up.

Not immune to poison damage, don't even bother stunning.

SSx3 - SnD - Trinket - Killing Spree - AR/Flurry/Evasion/Potion and he was dead 4 seconds later. Wasn't even a tight fight.

just SoL and JoL, DS whenever. When I took him down, the only time I dropped below 50% was when he knocked me off the cliff, I poped LoH and Killed him.

As a enhancement shaman (Level 67), if you already used your Earth Elemental, at for example lets say Cho'war the Pillager, which is close to Gurok the Usurper. Don't worry, it's really easy with just the Spirit Wolfs.
Just make sure they taunt as much as they can :) And as already stated in earlier comments he is NOT immune to Nature damage.

Soloable as a 67 hunter with a pet cat. Had to spam Mend Pet to keep pet alive. Died on first attempt, but mob stayed around long enough for me to buff myself up for a second attempt. After killing him I hearthed out rather than run back through all the respawns.

Solo'd as a 67 Feral Druid. In Dire bear form. Just post up against the post as others have indicated to prevent being thrown off the mountain. When things got rough for me I used Frenized Regeneration. Used Barkskin to mitigate the damage as well and my trinkets. Fairly simple fight.

Soloed today as a 65 Blood Draenei Death Knight with Glyph of Disease. Popped Ghoul, Gift of The Naaru, Mark of Blood as soon as battle started, Icy Touch, Plague Strike, Death Strike, pestilence, heart Strike, then alternated between Death Strike, Death Strike and Pestilence, Heart Strike. Never dropped below 60% health.

For Retadins summon him and whack away throwing skills (use trinket buffs if you have). When you hit about 75% hp pop Divine Prot. and heal, then continue your slaughter. At 68 I ended with approx 58% health.

Soloed as 69 retadin. I'm dualspec so I had tanking gear to use, also Devotion Aura, Seal of Light, and Blessing of Wisdom for longevity's sake. Art of War procs kept me healed most of the time, had to use Divine Shield but didn't use LoH. Most of my damage came from Exorcism, and Hammer of Wrath at the end, since neither of them depend on weapon damage.

Solo'd as my 67 Affliction Warlock. Summoned a voidwalker and popped on a sacrifice shield. Sent the voidwalker out to tank but his aggro didn't hold long (forgot to use his AoE taunt for extra threat). Got all my dots on him, and had to pop a healthstone and Super Healing Potion. Gurok died pretty quickly though.

Watch out for his knock-back, keep your back up against the hill or else you might get knocked off the cliff.

As a level 67 Blood/Frost DK, this fight was not bad once I figured it out. I backed myself up against the nearby wall and hit Death Strike/Rune Tap whenever I could. Glyph of Disease, which makes Pestilence refresh the diseases on your target, was a HUGE help. Then I could use my Blood Runes to re-apply my diseases and spam Death Strike even more.

How to solo as a Mage(Was level 69):

Put your water elemental against a rock/post/tree, and put it on stay. Get the farthest away from it, where you have your back against a wall. Once you know your spots, put up Ice Barrier + Mana Shield, and then summon him once the CD comes back up on Ice Barrier. Get to your spot + pop Icy Veins and Frost Bolt spam him, when you get to ~ 30-40% health, pop your Ice Block, he will run to your elemental. Get out of it + pop a health pot, and Frost Bolt spam again, when he starts coming back to you, use invisibility. Once you are fully invisible, get out, and use evocate(with the health glyph). You will get full health again. Pop Cold Snap and then Icy Veins and you should be able to burn him down before he kills you with Frost Bolt now.

Level 69 Mage w/ Eternal Water Glyph and Evocate Glyph.

easily soloed as a lvl 66 draenei retri paladin. and i say draenei cause the divine shield - gift of the naaru combo helped a lot. but since i only needed to heal once, i would say any retridin can solo it easily. just position urself in front of one of the spires to avoid running miles recovering ur corpse from the cliffsxD

Really easy to solo as a 67 Feral druid.

Regrowth + Rejuvenation before bearform, keep back against a pillar so don't get knocked off the edge and just keep Lacerate up with Mangle debuff. Didn't need to pop any defensive cooldowns for this.

easily soloable around 67-68 as long as you have something tanking it, especially casters, becasue he rips through the 5-6k health of the players at this point.
As seen in the conversation above, locks can enslave and use them.
as for myself, a shammy, use earth elemental helped A LOT.
mages could attempt water elemental, im not sure..

Sat me down in 6 hits, level 66 Ret Paladin.
He crit me for 1500 and his Earth Shock hit me for 1200 or something, I died pretty fast.
Now I've got to grind those 7 Skulls again.

protip to anyone who wish to do this, but are unsure if they can solo it or not, don't try it. The Skulls aren't that great of a drop rate and he is hard.

Edit: As I got to my body I realised he was still spawned, so I healed up, used Devotion aura, kept Consecration up and kept up Judgements of the wise, let off the odd Divine Storm. When he knockbacked I got really low, popped Divine Shield and healed to full, dragged him back to the middle and turned around so my back faced the higher mountain area and repeat, I got to 500 HP and started worrying, realised he was dead - didn't last long at all.

The only thing you have to watch out for is getting pushed off the cliff. When he does it, you fly up really high.

As there's no comments yet here from priests, I just soloed him as a 68 shadow priest. Kept up all my dots on him, shield on myself, and mind blast on cooldown. I had to pot, though, and have improved vampiric embrace. But it's doable.

Just soloed this as a level 66 disc priest. Used power infusion, made sure shadow dots were up, then smited. Used both PW:Shield and Penance on myself on CD. Had to throw a few other heals in there, but pretty easy overall. No pots needed, ended with 90% health and 75% mana.

I was having trouble soloing this guy on my 66 hunter (beast mastery w/ Turtle pet). My advice goes as follows:

1) Throw fire/explosion trap down. Let pet pick up aggro.
2) Don't blitz arcane shot.. Take it easy. Don't forget to heal your pet occasionally.
3) Set up freezing trap when/if Gurok decides to ignore your pets aggro and go after you.
4) Use Intimidation early. Should only need one shot of it as the CD is a long one. If you are still alive when it's CD is up, pop it again.
5) Now blitz arcane shot/aimed shot. His hp should be low enough where if you pull aggro, it won't matter.

I post this because it took me 2 or 3 tries (and long corpse runs) to finally get this guy. He was, by far, the hardest elite I soloed in Nagrand (outside of Durn and Tusker). For some reason, he seemed to ignore my pets taunts and go after me at around 30% hp. I wasn't sure if he just ignored aggro or if my pet's aggro reset or what. I soloed him just like I have the other elites and that tactic didn't work.

Soloed today with level 66 holy priest. First two attempts he knocked me off the peak, third attempt I pulled him down the path a bit and put my back to the high peaks there. Bubble, smite, renew, repeat. Needed a mana flask to restore mana, but after getting back to mountain it was easy fight.

Soloed as 67 EleSham using quest and some BoA gear (had 8k HP and 8k mana).

Had Call of the elements, Strength of Earth, Flametongue, Wrath of Air totems.

Spammed healing surge as was taking 2-3k hits, while using Stormstrike, lava lash, any shock off cd, Fire nova, Shamanistic rage and the troll racial.

Popped the latter two at the start to get the jump.

Beware! He pushes you so face the edge of the cliff otherwise, you'll fall off :(

I soloed Gurok today as a level 66 combat rogue with full heirlooms, wielding the agi mace and dagger. I put my back against one of the pillars surrounding the summoning circle, and popped Adrenaline Rush and Evasion immediately. First got Recuperate going then spammed 5-point Eviscerates and he dropped pretty quickly.

Level 68 Frost Mage here; solo'd very easily in dungeon blues. I had my elemental take the initial aggro while I used Icy Veins; didn't even have to use Ice Barrier a second time. He has 25k hp btw, something that isn't listed here. He only used entangling roots on the ele, no knockbacks at all. Maybe I just didn't give him enough time XD

I soloed him easily as a level 23 Void Elf Shadow Priest in heirlooms and basic gear. He's huge, but not hard to burn down at all. They nerfed tf outta him, and I'm grateful because I've had to abandon this quest on other alts in the past because he had too much HP and DPS.
