I mentioned to a friend that I feel like 美味淵喉菇 (occasional drop from all daily Invasive Mawshroom treasures in Korthia) must be used for something, and he suggested that maybe it could be used to interact with 暗槌.

When you use the mawshroom on the NPC (at /way #1961 42.8, 32.7) you get a 2-minute buff, 友好坐騎. The description says: "Riding Darkmaul. Overtime you might become friends."

I think I took 5 total rides on Darkmaul (this appears to have been changed to 10 rides on live), including one where I got attacked and died before the 2-minute buff expired. On my last ride, as soon as the NPC hopped up and I jumped on its back, 暗槌 popped into my inventory.

You can loot a total of 5 Invasive Mawshrooms daily, but each one now has multiple possible spawnpoints. I will add them as I locate them. They are linked below to their specific objectIDs, which currently prevents Wowhead's automatic copying from working fully, so if you are using an addon like CopyPasta you will need to manually select all the lines.

You do NOT need to stock up on mawshrooms and use them all at once. I spaced my rides out over the course of a week or two.

I fed him a mawshroom, got a ride but no mount. I fed him another and got disconnected. I was hopeful, but no mount. I hope this isn't another bug going to be happening to me. Maelie the Wanderer is bugged everyday for me :(

I got it on the 9th ride, the 10th Tasty Mawshroom got removed from my inventory. Pretty annoying to ride xD

Do not do what I did - if you get 6 Mawshrooms and spam click them, he will happily eat them all, but it won't count as 6 complete events.

Feed, ride, dismount, repeat.

I can confirm you do NOT have to ride Darkmaul for 2 minutes after turning in a tasty mawshroom. Simply exit the vehicle and click off your debuff and then you can turn in more tasty mawshrooms. I turned in all 10 at once and got the mount. The quest tracker also continues to tick up regardless of if you ride the whole 2 minutes or not if you want further proof.

Can confirm that you can spam click your 美味淵喉菇 to feed 暗槌. You can also jump off before the 2 min 友好坐騎 buff is up.

I had a request for more information on getting this guy because some people feel like the drop rate of Tasty Mawshrooms had been lowered. I decided to try to get the mount on my second account, and there are some changes to the process. Not major ones, but I DID feel like the Tasty Mawshrooms were an abysmal drop rate when it takes weeks to see one. You still need 10, but when you turn them in, you don't go running off immediately. You just stay in place and can choose to run or jump off. You still don't need to ride him for the full 2 minutes (the buff wasn't even visible on me until I jumped off). When you jump off, he runs around all crazy and if you click off the buff instead of letting it fall off, you can see him sleeping and running at the same time! It's a little silly.

Although I cannot see Darkmaul sleeping in his spot after I got the mount with my main character, I could see him in his spot with my alts that had not finished the process. I had some Tasty Mawshrooms on one alt, so I tried to feed him and it worked! Lol. I don't have enough to try to get a 2nd mount, though, and they don't drop for me anymore now that I have the mount in my collection. I put my video of the process in the videos section if anyone wants to see the entire process. It's designed for people that don't know the area, but it has all of the Invasive Mawshroom locations in case anyone needs that!

So, I casually grinded these over the course of when Korthia was available up until this post. The Tasty Mawshroom drop rate is abysmal. Any ways, I finally got all 10. Great! The mount is mine. I am waving these infront of Dark Maul and hopping on and off. As I am hopping on, I randomly get disconnected (small indie company, can't blame their small servers; it happens.) Oh God. I think to myself, I am going to have to find another #$%^ing Tasty Mawshroom. I keep pumping the beast full of the fungus. When I get to my tenth tasty treat, I am rewarded with this harness.

Moral of the story. If you randomly get disconnected when hopping on, it shouldn't matter.
