For those like me who don't see "Garden of Respite" on the map or remember where it was, it is the sunken area near the road. If you get to the spot where the flag marks Burnsios' location, he is below you in a cave. To get to the cave, go back across the stone road (go east of the flag location) and down into the pit that is The Garden of Respite. It is also the area where a routine quest occurs where you get a staff and charge it by killing mobs in the area.

Don't blindly trust the name on the front page of Wowhead to actually be the current Steward of the Day. Today it said Burnsios, so I just went straight to his room because I knew where that was without having to look it up, but when I got there he wasn't there. So I went to Elios in Hero's Rest to check, and he told me that today's steward was actually Ioanna.

Tried to do this today and no matter what I try, he won't give me the option to give him a ripe purian. I'm currently playing a prot paladin with no companion pets out, so I don't think it's that. I double checked with the NPC in game and it's definitely him today. I've tried leaving and coming back, tried killing all the enemies nearby- nothing. Not sure what else to try now.

Edit to add: there is no allaying crook WQ up right now, and I have done the associated quests.

This might be the solution to the problem everyone is having with not being able to give him the Purian. I had already picked up a Purian before getting the quest, turns out it was a white item in my bag. I destroyed the Purian i had in my bags, went back to the steward by the chest asked him who was being celebrated and then picked up a Purian and it was a green item in my bag and i was able to give it to him. Hope this helps everyone.

I had the same trouble with him cowering even after killing the mobs and dismissing my hunter pet and battle pet. After dismissing any pets, wait for mobs to respawn and kill them. Burnsios will again thank you but have the chat bubble option this time so you can offer him the purian.

I found he was cowering if I got too close, interact with him from as far away as possible to start the chat.

Burnsios seems to also return to cowering briefly after anyone talks to him, even if there are no threats and no combat. So if someone beats you to getting a key from him, you'll have to wait a few seconds for him to become conversational again.
