Soloed as 46 prot paladin, kept judgement and seal of light up, bubbled and bandaged twice in the fight (if you can get to 360 first aid at an early level, by all means do), used a healing pot and a few holy lights. He's slow, so spell knockback isn't much of a problem. Consecrated a few times, but mostly tried to conserve mana. The fight might have gone faster if my reckoning ever procced like...ever.

he was running around in circles...and when I found him he was level 45...so being a level 44 lock...had no problems

took a beating after i raised the threat but thanks to fear and death coil got the job done

he is not too hard, just make sure you can take his damage...he hit me for about 145-180 damage per swipe

Solo'd as a decently geared 43 protection paladin.

Few close calls, had to use both bubbles, but otherwise uneventful. He hit me for 150, 250-300 crits.

As a level 47 rogue I was able to kite him with gouge all the way to the guard, I had no problems with it at all. Though I didn't get my quest item, so I don't suggest kiting to the guards because you won't get the quest item.

It's worth noting that, thanks to the 2.3 patch, Gorlash is no longer elite and is no longer lvl 47. I can't recall exactly what level he was, but I can say that as a 43 paladin I had no trouble soloing him.

I solo'd him as a 45 Warrior.

I shot him with an arrow to tag him, then popped my Mechanical Greench. That Greench was amazing, took him down to around 60% solo.

After that I just started whacking on him, then popped my Intimidating Shout and then used a Heavy Runecloth Bandage. This brought me back to full life, at that point I just dps'd him again.

Note that Gorlash hits a person with around 35% mitigation for about 180 a hit. I wouldn't recommend a clothy trying to "tank" him, unless you have ways of incapitating him to regen mana/health.

If you can kite him, by all means, it's just a rather long way back to Booty Bay...

Any way to heal yourself in the middle of the fight is excellent since it's a long fight at this level.

Just soloed as a 42 combat rogue. (2041 hp).

Pretty easy only used blind and kidney shoot of my cooldowns. (forgot i had adrenalina rush) so spec dosent matter just use alot gouge and kidney shoots.

A tip is, dont use deadly poisen i did and i failed 2 times then i used instant poison and it workd alot better. then u can use gouge and blind without it braking much time to bandage.

btw. u can cheap shoot him if u want to get combo points up fast.

Some difficulty soloing as a 46 Dwarf Ret Paladin, using a 2H, one Greater mana potion, 2 Heavy Mageweave bandage and all my Cd's accept repentence and my Divine protection, i did use BoP.

Just solo'd as a 44 warlock. Lay on the fear and DoT's and let him run. As fear wears off, rinse and repeat. :-)

So, yea, kiting it to the BB guards doesn't work. I get him there and he despawned. This is after 2.4 though.

Soloed as a 41 protection paladin with less-than-stellar gear. It wasn't easy, and I blew lay on hands, divine shield, and a superior health pot to do it, but it's definitely doable.

Solo'd as a level 42 enhancement shaman.

Tried melee DPS'ing him down, but that didn't work so well.

Best way I found was to kite him with frost shock around a mana spring totem. When you need to turn around to get back near the mana spring totem, run up, Stormstrike and run through him. If you're lucky, you crit, and you get a cheaper frost shock. Continue doing this until he dies. You might need to mana pot.

Soloed as 42 Undead Spriest, just use the usual strategy for normal mobs, not too hard. Use all your buffs such as Touch of Weakness, and pop your CDs.

Kind of a pain to solo. I pulled it off as a 43 prot pally, but I had to blow a sup healing and shield/heal/LoH at 10%. He has a somewhat high amount of avoidance and high armor. If you don't have a great way to kite, I'd bring a friend unless you like a challenge.

Soloed as a 42 Elemental shaman.
First try didn't work out,since he chased me lightning fast and I could get a hit on him.
So here's how I did it:
I pulled him with a Stoneclaw totem,and cast on myself Water walking,and put a searing totem.Once the totem was dead,I activated Elemental mastery and used frost shock.From then,I just kited him all around the water,doing LB\CL when I can.Eventually,he was down.
Gosh,that was much easier with my pally.

Extremely easy as a hunter in 42. Send in pet, dps with arcance shot & Aimed, poison him... If you aggro him, try with Fegin Death, if it won't work, disengage and run away. Your pet should do the most of the things.

Got him as a lvl 41 arms warrior using sword and board. I gained 100 rage from a nearby crab and then healed up and attacked. Thunderclap and demo shout and rend (got the talent which gives chance to allow overpower with each rend tick). Burned down my rage with overpower and slam.

He had about 2000 life left and me about the same after all this. So I switched to defensive stance and used shield block and just finished him off with revenge and shield slam. Ended at around 1000 life left, didnt have to use shield wall or pot but if you bring a health pot and use shield wall you can easily kill him as a warrior if you leave the 2 hander and equip a shield.

Most elites are pretty hard to solo as a warrior but this one is nothing special. Just make sure to keep him debuffed.

Just solo'd him with my shaman on stormrage server at level 40, didn't need to pot. Just put down my totems, Lightning bolt for the pull, frost shock, water shield, heal, magma totem, frost shock, heal, rinse and repeat until dead.

After i saw i had no chance (35 prot paladin) i pulled him to the BB guards. Along the way, i died just when they aggroed him. I used spirit healer res, got 2 hits on him, the bruisers killed him and i got the items and exp. My advice is to do this if you get this quest when you are lower level, you can also pull other stuff to the guards, and as long as you have a few hits on them you will get to loot them and get exp points.

i actually didnt think i could kill him because i died on king bangalash earlier ad he has about 1000 hp more than bangalash
but his damage was so unbelievable low i killed him in 30 sec

Soloed him on my 39 holy paladin and lived by the skin of my teeth.

Equipped a shield and kept Retribution Aura, Blessing of Wisdom, and Judgment of Light up, occasionally switching to Judgment of Wisdom when my mana needed a boost. I spent the entire time healing and used my Lay on Hands with both glyphs as well as a potion.

Would have been worlds easier two levels later and in plate.

I just soloed on Gorlash with my lvl 44 Hunter. Just let your pet do all the work and keep throwing serpent stings and arcane shots at it...It won't take too long until Gorlash is dead.

Just soloed him as 43 feral druid. Used, dire bear form, a superior healing potion and Lifeblood rank 3. Kept demoralizing roar on him and just mauled away. Didn't need to shift out of dire bear form.

Soloed as a 44 combat rogue - just pulled him out of the water, popped Blade Flurry, Evasion and Adrenaline Rush and zerged him. It was quite close, though I was unlucky with crits. Adrenaline Rush was pretty essential, and if you've skipped it for whatever reason or don't have it yet, I wouldn't bother.

Got a couple of frostbolts in, then frost nova'd and hit with blizzard. Over half his health gone before he's even got to me.

Blinked away, frostbolted some more, nova'd him again and finished with a quick cone of cold.

Hardly took any damage.

Solo'd on a 39 disc priest. Was a little shaky and thought I would die, but I did it.

Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague, Holy Fire, Smite. Keep yourself shielded with renew up at all times. and use Psychic Scream whenever it's up. Kiting also helps alot. Also, if you find yourself a little low on mana, wand for a second to let mana regen.

Soloed at lvl 40 Frost Mage. Icy Viens > Loads of FB, while kiting whit Frost Nova and Blink. Remember to keep Mana Shield up, and have your mana gem ready.

Got him with a 38 rogue in heirloom gear using a health potion then, when my health got low again blinded him sprinted used a bandage and finished him. I had planned to srpint anyway if blind failed as I had put a crippling poison which seemed to get trough.
It's nice that Blizzard keeps some elites.
I reckon that rogues are a bit too buffed though right now.

This guy used to be an elite, but was nerfed in patch 4.0.3a.

How sad, another nerfed mob! I (a hunter) just killed him in 10 seconds at 31st level, and received 10 silver and a few copper for my troubles. What have Blizz done to the rare and Elites? Where are the challenges?

And while I was typing this, he respawned and my pet killed him. I was afk. Heck! I'm going to go fishing.
