My level 60 full shadow priest was able to solo him in Pre-ZG blues and no epics.

The strategy I employed was you pulled him via his guards over to the Graveyard area. You should be able to kill one of his guards and recieve spirit tap before he even gets close. Then group fear the other two, and mow them down while backing away from Avalanchion. Stick a Vampiric Embrace on Avalanchion and DOT + Start Mindblasting. Basically you want to mindblast, turn and run so he only gets one rock off on you while running in a giant square. You should never lose health, and you shouldn't run out of mana (you may have to pop one greater mana potion).

I did this to farm him everyday solo in order to generate some gold. Take it as you will. (Make sure to pull him to the Graveyard as no mobs will spawn there, and it's a large area that's easily kitable).

He comes around for the elemental invasion (stone). If you leave him up, he keeps spawning earth elems. for you to farm. You have to decide between milking the cow and having steak, in terms of leaving him alive to spawn invaders or not.

The shield he drops is quite nice. High enough armor and stamina to hold you til one of the epic tanking boards.

One hell of a solo, even for a 68 BE Rogue, specced Combat Fists and I don't think I could have done it any other way. I barely made it, Vanished at 256 health! He dropped that garbage ring and 2 essence of earth, I wanted the ace =(

Just killed him.. Soloed with lvl70 warrior.. he dropped the shield, the ace and some other stuff ^^

70 mage, Burst DPS'd him down and then focused on adds. frostnova, dragons breath, and blastwave was easy.

finished the fight with 80% health and 20% mana

Looted pretty much everything from him. stone, core, element, essense, the crap ring, and also the Ace of elements.

very nice for 5 minutes work

at the same time, i took down the other named elite walking around. picked up a green belt

my lvl 69 warrior. took him down easy. even thou he pulled an extra add..
5 ads + boss. and i ended fight whit 60% hp.

second wind talent is sweet here sins they stun you all the time,
but no ace droped :(

any 1 know the spawn time ?

Soloed him and his adds (and another add that joined in) as a 70 feral druid. Only problems were the stuns and him getting away from me.

Dropped the shield, which I sold for a nice chunk of change.

Very easy solo as a 70 rogue, had to kill him for the core of earth, to learn elemental leatherworking. Just kill him and vanish, get your loot, and bam your done.

Easily solo'd as a level 66 feral druid, started in bear form, took down his 4 adds to start, shifted out to full heal then back into bear to take out Avalanchion himself. Easy kill, easy loot.

Duod by a 50 Hunter and a 61 Feral druid, the main issue with fighting this boss is his adds. They're a royal pain in the ass, as they all have a stun on short cooldown, and an earthshock that hits for roughly 500 damage.
We did it by having the hunter kite the adds away, along the beach, and the druid killing Avalanchion meanwhile.
To sum it up; If you can manage the adds he's as good as dead.

What's this guy's respawn timer like? I couldn't find him in when I went to Ashzara, and the zone was empty.

I'm not sure how useful this is, but I noticed a pattern for the invasions on Misha. They seem to happen in the late afternoon Misha time (PST) every two days in a cycle.

For example, you might have the water invasion first, then the rock invasion two days later, then fire, then wind, then water again.

I am farming for the stormshroud gloves pattern, which drops from the windreaver and princess tempestria, and have followed the invasions from Ashzara to Un'goro to Silithus to Winterspring. One happened every other day. Water invasion yesterday... so about 5 or 6 days till the Windreaver.

Solo it at a level 80 paladin ungeared it was pretty easy to i was looking for 2 elemental earth for my alt mage and dropped 4 elemental earth and 1 green to desenchant i recommend you guys kill him :)

I would like to confirm that is IS in fact possible for two or more invasions to occur at one time. I've just defeated the wind and earth ones within 10 minutes of each other.

With how often players are oldworld nowadays, it's a good idea to always check for one of the elemental bosses when you are in either Azshara, Winterspring, Un'Goro, or Silithus.

The cooldown on the separate invasion events is estimated to be 2-3 days.

Apparently, Avalanchion still exists. I was flying from Orgimmar over to Splintertree Post and passed through Azshara for a brief moment. I heard Avalanchion yell, "You be too scared! Me find you!" Is this just his yell or is that his aggro/spawn yell?

I was in Azshara near Valormok a few minutes ago and heard him yell "You be too scared! Me find you!"
I'm assuming that's what he says when he spawns.

I killed him, and he yelled "What? No you can't beat me! Me will return!"

This guy got me curious about other elemental invasion leaders. Made bit background search and heres all four of them:
Princess Tempestria - Water elemental - Winterspring.
Baron Charr - Fire elemental - Un'gogo crater
Avalanchion - Earth elemental - Azshara
The Windreaver - Air elemental - Silithus
Good luck chasing these :)

Edit: I met elementals of all 4 invasions on same day so i believe to what was written above that all spawn at same time and after killed takes 2-3 days for them to attack again... sigh they never get bored...

well im a lvl 52 troll hunter and i got a 53 blood elf hunter and got him :D she died and my pet almost died but when u know how to use your class alot of things are possible

I don't know if or why they would have changed this, but while going for Loremaster this week, I've killed some of these elemental bosses two days in a row. Today, I dropped this one and the water one, and yesterday I dropped this one and the fire one. The wind one showed up yesterday, but i never could find him. It doesn't seem to be 3 days anymore.

Just killed him on my 80 DK main, I was looking through the comments to see which direction he patted in, pulled WoW back up and found out he was attacking me. Killed him and his guards, got 3 cores and an Ace of Elementals.

Avalanchion will return in Cataclysm as a quest mob in Deepholm! He will be a general in the evil Earth army and the player will have to defeat him to assist friendly Earthen.

I post this because one of the first things he remarks upon encountering you is :

"Have I seen you before?"

And upon his death:

"NOT AGAAAAIIIIIIN!"

He doesn't seem to spawn in Azshara anymore as of 4.0.3 ...

...which would make sense, since Azshara is a horde starting zone now with level 10s... a level 58 elite would be mildly out of place. lmao.

Avalanchion has relocated to Deepholm during the Cataclysm, leveled up to 82, and is now the objective of the quest Bring down the Avalanche: 打倒阿瓦蘭奇奧

Upon dying, he now shouts "NOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooo.... not again!" Such is the tumultuous life of quest objectives.
