I managed to solo this one as a fresh lv70 protection warrior.
Run in, shield block, last stand and kill.

Was quite a mess when Umi Thorson used thunderclap on all the mobs that had aggroed me.

EDIT: Make sure his two personal guards does not heal him, or be lucky enough that none of them is a healer.

If you are a mage he can be easily killed without having to kill all the kobolds on the way. Go to the lowest entrance on the far left (facing the mine). Get invisibility on. Head in and keep moving straight ahead. Turn on the second left (first one is a dead-end). At this point invisibility should be ending so as you head into the new archway blink towards the right wall below the platform where Morloch is. You'll reappear in front of him/middle of his group. Nuke them until the adds die by using aoe. Then focus on him and its done. I am frost specced at this point and ice barrier does help me but i got very low HP (~7K) so any fire/arcane mage should be fine with more hp.

After easily soloing the Coldtooth mine as a Holy Pally with a combination of Consecration + Holy Light with uninterrupted heals, i figured this guy would be cake. I was wrong.
In the Coldtooth mine i was able to simply run past the mobs and aggro them all until i reached the leader, using a few holy shocks along the way to keep my health up. I tried using this strategy here, but apparently some of the troggs have a nasty knock back that prevents you from grouping them. Needless to say i got my ass handed to me. I wouldn't suggest trying to AoE these down in a large group unless you're comfortable you can take a beating.

This NPC is probably a reference to the Morlocks(From which the murlocs may have gotten their name) from the book (and later, movie) The Time Machine

They look a lot like troggs.
