These mobs are found around the "pylons" in Dire Maul West. They are very easy to farm for money as a warlock, since they almost always drop http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18286 (Condensed Mana Fragment) and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18285 (Crystallized Mana Shard), and they stack up quickly and sell very well (30-45s a pop!).

It's very easy to solo farm these. You can either go from the DM North Library entrance or go through DM West first room, The Capital Gardens (I believe that's what it's called -- it's the big room with the huge trees patrolling veeerrry slowly).

If you're going from DM Libary, simply kill or avoid the Arcane Torrents and their little moblets, and head over to a pylon. Then it's a matter of banish pulling and killing off the one add that comes to you, then finishing off the banished one. If you're going from the DM West entrance, simply dodge your way through the lumbering patrol trees, banish pull, and hightail it back to the instance entrance (so you can make a quick getaway if things get ugly!). You should only get one other add (sometimes the first pull is tricky because you'll get two adds), so just burn him down and move on to the banished one (who by now should've wandered over to you).

Lastly, this mob will explode an AoE mana drain upon death, so if possible, try to keep your distance when finishing him off! It's not enough to completely drain a full mana bar, but since you're already fighting, it could empty out your bar. Not a huge problem, but sometimes does complicate things a little.

I should have been able to tell by the name, but they're immune to Arcane damage if you're a mage trying to ae.

Mana Remnants and Arcane Aberrations have been toned down quite a bit in patch 4.0.3a (The Shattering). Both now surround the crystals of Dire Maul West in much fewer numbers (Three as opposed to the eight or so I was seeing pre-patch) Also worth noting, they are no longer immune to arcane damage.
