Xe'ra is an Illidan fan. Like, Big fan. Has all the t-shirts and posters, and writes lots of Illidan fan fiction. She has every episode of "Ilidan's Life" tivo'd and is going to subject you to Every. Single. Episode.

Like many oh-so-devoted fans, she does some serious projecting on Ilidan as the "emotionally wounded outcast and poet warrior for good that does bad things some times, but can you blame him?" shtick. While you are watching moments of his life and thinking "Thrall's balls, what a wanker," she is over your shoulder making cooing noises and planning her next Illidan fic "Illidan saves everyone again, except for this goblin here, who doesn't like Illidan as much as I do."

Xe'ra sounds like Cate Blanchett from Lord of the Rings

after reveals from argus it turns out she is evil to a certain extent because, she tried to force her power upon illadin despite him telling her no and had Alleria locked up and tortured for investigating the void! that is not not what a character aligned with good intentions does.

Anyone got a transcript of what Xe'ra said? All I had for the cinematic was the crystal moving near a planet and the subtitle "Xe'ra: " and no audio. Also, after talking with Khadgar about it (and guessing what had been said by his dialog), I got a strip below him that said "Xe'ra: " and nothing else. I can hear Khadgar fine, but Xe'ra is mute (both in type and in audio.)

So Xe'ra basically tried to rape Illidan where the light don't shine and everyone got pissed that Illidan defended himself.

I don't know why everyone gives Xe'ra grief. All she was doing was replacing Illidan's fel magic with the Light, not brainwashing him (note how the Lightforged Dreadlord Lothraxion was able to talk Xe'ra out of killing Alleria for using the Void, something he couldn't have done if Xe'ra brainwashed him, and if she was really that bad she would've killed Alleria anyway). She's been fighting the Legion for millennia and predates even the Titans; Blizzard could've done so much more with this character but instead they wasted her on some "Is the Light good or maybe not?" story arc. Besides, Illidan did worse to Akama (look up Shade of Akama on wowpedia). Essentially, Illidan wasn't honoring his deal with Akama, locked him out of the loop and started acting more and more like an actual member of the Burning Legion, so Akama turned on him; in response Illidan enslaved a part of Akama's soul and threatened to have it devour him if he didn't do what Illidan said.

Xe'ra's only mistake was not saying to Illidan "I'm turning you into a form that Tyrande would want to bang"; then he'd be all "Let's do this!" (and also not telling the Army of the Light that Naaru could go Void). So while Xe'ra has some problems, most of it is due to poor writing and comparing her to the Void or the Burning Legion is at best a knee-jerk reaction, at worst it says more about the people leveling the accusations than her.
