is there a certain Blacksmithing skill lvl you need to be to learn swordsmithing im 260 BS and still cant learn it from this guy

You need 300 Skill to be able to learn any kind of specific Weaponsmith ability.

It's WoTLK now, and I talk to him and he still doesn't teach Swordsmithing at all. Goes on in endless loops. All I can get from him is the quest for a recipe.

I got Swordsmithing trained earlier today on my Death Knight so he's working as he should I'd imagine. Had 301 bs skill as well. Just make sure you've done this quest here http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5302 before you go see him.

Me too I have the same problem. I am playing with WoTLK, I am a 335 BS and have done the quest to be Weaponsmith. I haven't done the quest proposed by that guy, but I'll try and see if I'm able to learn swordsmithing.

Even at 80 he still thinks he can cut me in half. His faith in his abilites is amusing.

Again me, I am now at 450 BS, have done the quest given by Kilram, and still unable to be a swordsmith.

Maybe it is because I am an hammersmith.

If you, like me, were not paying attention and chose the wrong specialty, you can unlearn it from the same person, at the cost of 100g. It's an expensive lesson, but it'll teach me to not play and look stuff up on WoWHead at the same time.

Well, okay, it'll teach me to watch where I'm clicking when looking stuff up on WoWHead at the same time. (Especially since I was researching how to be a master swordsmith when I made my mistake!) And yes, you can only have one specialty, so be reeeeeeally sure that it's what you want.

Seeing Seril, Kilram & Lilith again makes me miss those early Weaponsmith quests, but I'm glad Blizzard brought them back to us and added the fun quests they have to one-up one another!
